It's been in the back of my mind, and I should have done this in the beginning. But I didn't, and that's not the point.
Today, I will talk about our work and what to do, and what not to do.
As all artist on the internet showcase their work, it is important that you don't rip them off. I mean, technically speaking, we are infringing copyright of *insert whatever game company* for using their work/animation. However, as I see it, that is hard to act upon. And not the point of my topic.
My concern is calling a sprite you have done yours, when it clearly isn't (I am NOT stating that this is happening in our guild. I am just merely stating this b/c it does happen). Re-coloring a sprite and calling it yours, to me, is not cool (b/c anyone can do that as well, it is not original)
What is original, to some degree, is copying and pasting (what most of us do in Fire Emblem mugshots). Or to tweak animations (such as my Sakura animation), or to complete something entirely new (such as my Hajime single sprite, Seijuro single sprite, some of the alchemist one's and etc.)
So why am I rambling? Iono. But always remember these key guidelines: a.) If you are going to take someone's sprite, and just recolor it, give credit to the original creator (you can do this, by stating "this is not mine") b.) Always ask first
