Mountain Pass The forest is thick and the path is overgrown, but there is a fourth and rarely used entrance to the Vale. It would take a lot of work to make the untamed area capable of mass travel, but with some effort it could be workable.

"********, I always seem to find the most amusing places to travel. My feet are killing me and I haven't had a bite to eat in a while and by now all the food I had is water logged. Ahh ********, I'll need to replace the charges in my flintlock.
Stumbling and tripping along his way Quin was brooding. Things had not gone well, and plans didn't seem to want to work.

Darkness, it need not be the real darkness of light for the trees were looming up and towering over the aristocrat. Damn, woods in the middle of the night. Horror stories were written of these things; but he had to get back to base. Even if he dragged himself. At least his clothes were dried, even if they clung to his body.

Here he was again, damn how he seemed to keep on visiting the same areas. As planned two of the men would stay here, they would use their explosives to set up traps along and around the path. These ones though were connected to a detonators that both had. There was no guarteen that a trip wire would work and they needed to move quickly if they needed to help anyone lower on the slope.
The two then took up positiosn along the trail, waiting for enemy troops or a signal over the radio.
With the others Quin forged further up the path, heading to were the mines were.
The miners had taken the Mountain Pass.

The higher they rose the thinner the trees became and more rocky the landscape.
"Not much further boys. Then the real work starts."
In the distance they could actually see the entrance of a mine, shifting their course they travelled towards it as the crow flies.

Aiolos blew the whistle once more, he could see the mines below dotting the mountains. He looked down, this was some view, pity this whole place was going to hell. He blew harder, heading to those mines, the only place that seemed to have a path.

Next to land was Mozz, though far less gracefully. After standing up after a little ground to face contact, he followed his comrad into the mines.

And he was shot, at least shot at. The blowing of a whistle had given away his position and the two miners had taken up places along the path. How he had managed to get through the squad in the twilight was beyond them.
And this one was no friendly, no friendly would be so foolish. So they opened fire with automatic weapons.

Zen landed shortly after Mozz, his wings retracting and the blood itt took to make them recollecting, Zen looked around briefly then followed them into the mines.

((Every last one of you just got fired upon. I'm sick of you people posting once in a thread and thinking that qualifies as a travel. Also you tend to ignore details of which are stated. This may not be directed at you, but I've seen it enough that I have to comment.))

The echoing of fire made mozz go prone again. A few bullets wizing close tto his body as well as one grazing his shoulder. His left hand pressed had against the dirt he grew a 4 ft tall moss wall to shield himself and his ally Aiolos from the incoming fire. His grabbed his shoulder in pain as a fresh layer of mold budged to seal the gaping wound. "Zen, distract the guards while we move out!" With that he crawled towards the mines.

As the first shot was opened Zen quickly conjured up a barrier of blood for Mozz and Aiolos while Zen re-conjured his wings and took flight once more, this time headed towards the gunmen and shot a shockwave at them from above.

"Crawl like hell." said Aiolos calmly, staying behind the barrier. He followed Mozz, crawling to the mines with him. Damnit, they are not going home the way they got here!

The gumen were sufficiently distracted by Zen, allowing Mozz and Aiolos to escape.
Seeing Zen fly at them, all but two fell back, still frightened by the displays of power from yesterday.
Those two remained, taking pot shots at the flying man.
