STUFF FROM MY JAPANESE CLASS
GREETING
Hello - Konnichiwa Good morning - Ohayougozaimas (ohayou) Good afternoon - Konnichiwa Good evening - Konbanwa Good night - Oyasuminasai (oyasumi) Good bye - Sayounara (ja ne) See you - Dewa mata See you later - Dewa mata kondo (matane) How are you doing? - Ogenkideska? (genki?) I'm fine, thank you. - Genkides (genki) So, so - Maa, maades (maa, maa) Thank you - Arigatougozaimas (arigatou) You are welcome - Douitashimashite (tondemonai)
I have a cold - Kaze o hikimashita (kazehiitayo) I'm tired - Tsukaremashita (tsukareta) I'm thirsty - Nodo ga kawakimashita (nodo kawaita) I'm hungry - Onaka ga sukimashita (onaka suitta)
How do you do? - Hajimemashite? What is your name? - Onamaewa? My name is ______ - Watashi no namae wa _______ desu.
NUMBERS
1 - Ichi/Hitotsu 2 - Ni/Futatsu 3 - San/Mittsu 4 - Shi/Yottsu 5 - Go/Itsutsu 6 - Loku/Roku/Muttsu 7 - Shichi/Nanatsu 8 - Hachi/Yattsu 9 - Kiyu/Kokonotsu 10 - Jiyu/Tou 11 - Jiyuichi 12 - Jiyuni 13 - Jiyusan 14 - Jiyushi....etc. 20 - Nijiyu 21 - Niyjiyuichi 22 - Nijiyuni 23 - Nijiyusan 24 - Nijiyushi....etc.
NOTE1: When you start reaching double digits, you say the number of tens and then the ones. For example: 34 San - Three Jiyu - Ten Shi - four Three-ten-four Three tens, then four. Sanjiyushi.
NOTE2: 40 is NOT shijiyu. 40 is YONJIYU; in which YON is what you must use when saying 'four tens'. 70 is NOT shichijiyu. 70 is NANAJIYU; in which NANA is what you must use when saying 'seven tens'.
NOTE3: 100 = Hyaku. This falls under the same pattern noted in NOTE1. 586 = Gohyakuhachijiyuroku. (gohyaku + hachijiyu + roku).
NOTE4: 1000 = Sen. See NOTE3 2586 = Nisengohyakuhachijiyuroku. (nisen + gohyaku + hachijiyu + roku).
NOTE5: 10,000 = Ichiman. This is a bit different than NOTE3 or NOTE4. MAN is how you say 10,000, but you must say how many 10,000's you have. That's why 10,00 is ICHIMAN - you have ONE TEN THOUSAND. Adding to my example: 92586 = kiyumannisengohyakuhachijiyuroku (kiyuman + nisen + gohyaku + hachijiyu + roku).
COLORS
Red: Aka Red (adj): Akai Orange: Orange Yellow: To be rediscovered. Green: Midori Blue: Ao Blue (adj): Aoi Purple: Murasaki Black: Kuro Pink: Momorio Grey: Hairo Gold: Kin Silver: Jin (to be edited later)
SENTENCE FORMATION
This will be taken very, very, very slowly... I: Watashi We: Watashi-tachi Am/are/is: Wa Desu: This goes at the end of a sentence describing a state of being.
FOR EXAMPLE: Watashi wa Xesca desu. I am Xesca. Watashi-tachi Kaiba otaku desu. We are Kaiba fans.
You: Anata You (plural): Anata-tachi.
Anata wa Sora Katana desu. You are Sora Katana. Anata-tachi wa Kaiba otaku desu. You are Kaiba fans.
TO BE EDITED LATER....AGAIN

*glower* 'Cescy....
YOU FECKING BIATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU SAID YOU'D EMAIL IT TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And ya just started translating... cry
Edit: Oh, and 'Aa' can also mean yes. Edit. *screw up face and sticks out tongue*
Edit2: You also mispelled weird in '?Ano henna onna?'.
Edit3: A 'bokken' is the wooden kendo sword. You neglected telling it's made of wood. A 'shinai' is the bamboo one.
Edit4: 'Aoi' is blue used as an adjective. 'Ao' is blue.
Edit5: 'Boku'...make mention of the fact it's mostly used by young boys...adults mainly stick to 'watashi,' though they can still use 'boku.'
Edit6: ((Just cuz there are no more typos doesn't mean it can't still be corrected.)) Bo(normally a peasant's weapon) = wooden stick, aho!<----I like how it sounds like 'a*****e.' I insult you in 2 languages w/ 1 word! BWAHAHAHAHAHAheeheeheeheehee! *cough* Feck.
Edit7: 'Aku' also means evil. And, as a suggestion only, why don't you put down the kanji/hiragana along with the romaji? You have the means to do so.
Edit8: Gold is 'kim,' not 'kin.' And it's 'watashi-tachi'wa Kaiba otaku desu.' AND DON'T CALL ME 'OTAKU'!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS NOT WHAT I AM, YOU *l#$%&$! Haven't you read the thread explaining that in the a/m/c forum!? Most informative, it was.
I am the official mistake-finder of this thread b/c I am P.O.ed that I didn't get this in email. Either that or I didn't check it. *shrug*
