Well, originally I had thought to tell people over pms, as I still feel nervous about the issue I will come to in just a moment. But my lethargy spurred me to post it instead in this way, as one post is much quicker than dozens of private messages.
Anyways, the truth that I refer to is, I am a guy in real life. I made this female avatar, acted and referred to myself basically as a female, all because it felt more natural to me. Gender issues aside, barring deep psychological consideration, I have always felt more like a girl than a guy. So when I came to this site, I saw an opportunity to be what I wasn't, to more or less become someone else.
I do apologize to anyone who feels offended by either my duplicity or the fact I was lying, but I value this guild and everyone in it enough to finally tell the truth on the matter.
Typing this was rather hard, as it is akin to exposing myself before the scrutiny of anyone who happens to read this, but I feel it is necessary. I owe you all this much, at the very least.
So if anyone has a burnign desire to know my real name, or any other similar information, I find no reason to refuse such a request. I hope that even after this revelation we can continue on in good terms, as friends or acquaintances. If not, then best wishes.

Wow...Didnt see that coming. It's okay though, I don't care that you are actually a guy. I'm glad you felt you could be honest with us about this, I know that some people wouldn't be able to.
So to wrap things up, I am not offended in any way and i still love you Rye. *glomp* heart

It's a bit of a shock, of course, seeing as I've come to so come to so comfortably identify you with the female air you've set about yourself, though it's not to say I think any less of you - I do not.
Au contraire, the internet is a place where these types of things are quite common, I only have more respect for you seeing how you've come clean.

I doubt you will find anyone here who is offended in any real way. You are still the you we know no matter gender IRL, ne?
I admit, I have always wanted to make a male avy and not tell anyone either that I wouldn't be that gender.
The internet is a terrible way to feel like you know anyone anyway, so this really shouldn't be surprising. For all we know, you are bored and want a little drama/attention and thus created the lie that you are actually male. I am not saying that is the case, I am just saying that what someone posts is all we have to go by here and it's so hard to know what anothers intent is by typing, isn't it?
From what I know of your posts here at least, I doubt you tried to really deceive anyone into a relationship to the point it would hurt someone by this info now. If that is correct, than we will all still just be happy to know you. (If that isn't the case, we will feel bad for whoever was hurt, but due to your confession will forgive you as you asked us to) Can we all still refer to you as a she or shall we refer to you as he now?

Wow, everyone's acceptance warms my heart. It makes me glad I came clean, and a little regretful that I didn't sooner. It feels like a burden has been lifted, that I can say with absolute assurity, 'These are my friends, and they accept me!'
And Aoife, your comments are certainly well-founded. If I lied once I could certainly do so again, and like you said, there is no way of being truly sure about anything we read here. After all, people lie every day, offline and on, and oftentimes noone's the wiser. Your only decent guide to truth is what you feel, and instincts and intuition only go so far.
And I leave it up to each person's preference if they wish to refer to me as a he or a she. Whichever you feel more comfortable with is fine by me.
