Before I begin, I should let you know that this isn’t all about typos. In fact, it’s mostly just a post that may or may not have had a typo in it, greatly affecting Gaia’s plot. But I start about typos.
Since the days of the first printing press, typos have plagued society with streams of hot llama cascading down volcanoes, people randomly going AFK to rake a shower, or greeting each other with the occasional "Hell." These things are quite natural, especially when one buys a new computer or laptop, and is unfamiliar with their new keyboard. Of course, there are other examples, such as when people accidentally
type something in the wrong window of AIM, or just plain type
something else that they were thinking about In short, typos are everywhere. My, how cliché. We move to the point.
Some typos can cause drastic changes in meaning, and sometimes even cause someone to lose their sanity, their life, or their loved ones. For instance, there is at least one individual who has been standing on soapboxes and handing out pamphlets for almost two years now, since a rather disconcerting post in the fall of 2004. We turn to G-Corp, with probably
the most plot intensifying note made by Labtech062 , though it could have just been a typo, or even a little tangent that someone forgot to tie together with the other Admins. Now, when you look at this post, you may just see that the only typo is “What good with that do?” However, Labtech062 mentions two experiments, #410039 and #410042. Later, it turns out that #410042 had the power to transfer thoughts and personalities in a common pool, while #410039 had the power to bring dead things back to life, and when injected into a live patient or transferred otherwise, would make the subject become, shall we say, zombified.
Now, what’s so interesting about this, other than the fact that the properties of #410039 made H2K4 a kickass event, while H2K5 was an elitist extravaganza? Well, that’s just it. According to the story update of April 1st, 2006, Gambino created the “G-Virus” in an attempt to live on through Gino. Sure, it could be seen that #410042 was also part of this, as Gambino would need some way to transfer his conciousness into an immortal body, but… #410042 was never combined with #410039, and therefore Gino should have never had Gambino’s conciousness implanted in him.
Now, all comments about blood and gene type aside, why did #410039 act differently in Gambino, allowing him to mutate in such ways as to absorb his son into his body? Why did #410039 act more along the lines of #410042, showing no signs of the normal #410039?
In short, #410039 was not what Gambino was injected with, and is therefore not the infamous “G-Virus.”
So here’s the puzzler: Was this all just a fatal hole in the plot, or was it planned? If it was planned, where did the real “G-Virus” come from, and why was Gambino having #410039, with the power to create an undead army, developed?
