Recently I was in a chat room on Yahoo! and I noticed that at the end of a lot of people's phrases they always had 1-3 "w" at the end...

Why do they put "w" at the end of everything??? What does it do?!?（ó,ô）

I was looking for Japanese emoticons the other day, and I found a rather extensive listing at http://club.pep.ne.jp/~hiroette/en/facemarks/. I was kind of amazed that they had a whole section devoted just to bombs.
