This is quite shocking to me and I just found it out tonite. I love anime (doesn't everyone?) but I have to get rid of ALL of my statues and figures. My dad told me a few years ago that something wasn't right about them but I never listened. He didn't have a reason to justify why he said that.
If you saw my testimony in the thread this ties in with it. My youth leader told me that the sickness..or the forces that started it would try and come back. That was after she went and prayed in my room. I've always been able to feel spirits and everytime I pray in my room I get this weird feeling..an unsafe one and it seemed like spirits were all around me. I'm not into any bad things so I thought, "Maybe my sixth sense is just in overdrive."
Also, as much as I pray I wondered how anything could stay in there. Of course they won't leave if my room's a breeding ground for them! Yes it sounds weird but let me explain. Of course I don't see them as idols and it isn't even that statues themselves(and of course I wouldn;t put any bad or evil characters in my room...although I just remebered I do have a Ryoko doll before I knew what her name meant sweatdrop )..it's what's behind them. People do EVERYTHING with anime characters and also who makes them? Japanese and Chinese people. What God(s) do they worship? Getting it now? Those things have spirits attatched to them. I had to do this once before but it was my posters(sailormoon) now it's my figures and statues.I hate to do it, but it's just stuff. I'm just warning everyone else so that hopefully you can avoid this.

wow... that's scary... I dont have any but I see where your going... I get some of those senses sometimes, like when I'm close to God I feel Him there, and when I see things that are wrong, I can feel the presence of the devil... like right now.. he's trying to tempt me with the internet and pornography... in the back of my head... it's weird.

That used to be an ongoing fight with me. When I was very young I was kinda molested by a cousin. I didn't know what sex was, but she wanted to have "sex". Then I saw porn shortly after that. It all resurfaced later on and I've just now been able to get it away from me for the most part.
Of course I can feel God, but I can also feel angels and demons. Angels feel very pleasant, like a gentle breeze around you but demons gonk You know how it feels when someone is trying to sneak up on you but you feel them and jump before you turn around? That's what it's like but it haunts you because you feel it and no one is there. It's even worse when I'm around someone who does witchcraft or uses tarot cards!

I just said it as a warning. None of them even actually touched me. I just knew they were there and it makes me uncomfortable.

Zaierah i can have toys and posters it dosnt matter..who made them Christ protects me no demon can touch me~! heart I don't think anyone doubts that he protects you. I think what she is saying is by having certain items in your home... you can be opening a door for spiritual attack on your life that you wouldn't have to deal with otherwise.. just by sake of not having stuff. Hmm.. I'll have to try something. cuz i have a lot of LOTR stuff.. and i think there's nothing wrong with them in and of themselves. maybe i'll try baggign them up and putting them in the pantry for a bit... see if notice anything.. just as an experiment... but... i hope i don't weird anyone out with this.. but in teh house i grew up in... the big one during the bulk of my life... whenever i went into the basement.. it always had this... really creepy feeling.. just like the hairs on teh back fo my neck would stand up.. and it ended up coming out later on.. that my dad had a secret homosexual secret life.. and hid his "porn" somewehre down there. Noone knows for sure where it was... but... *shivers* just ewww... gonk well, that and some crap that was a mess back there.... my parents had let someone live down there in teh basement in teh back corner of it... and i think they may have left stuff behind.... but.. not to freak anyone out like i'm telling ghost stories or anything... [dang. gotta get ready for work after i post this but] sometimes you can also find that people who live in old houses or old buildings, offices etc... I believe sometimes spirits attach themselves to a house period.. or to various places because of things that may have happened there. Like, the house i grew up in was a hundred year old victorian farm house with some rooms added on. and, one of the upper rooms always felt haunted... seriously.. we had reports of people seeing ghosts.. [my parents rented out our extra bedrooms to various people for extra income when we were growing up]. that same room i always got creepy vibes out of. and, i remember being at a youth convention at a hotel somewhere. While my old pastor was the state youth director for a long time, first thing, first service he had everyone do was march around the room praying together and praising the Lord to sanctify the room. He always said taht you don't know what spirits were left behind in that room.

Hm... Interesting. I'm not all that into anime and manga, although I like the art. As for the whole spirit thing - sometimes I feel like there's something there... but most of the time, I feel really out of touch with that kinda stuff. I just trust that Jesus will protect me from it.
Hey Graceangel, you don't think that LOTR stuff invites bad spirits in, do you? I wouldn't have thought so... Tolkein was a Christian, right? Just curious what you meant there.

I'm pretty sure all spirits of people go either to heaven or hell right away... I think it is demons that you feel, they like to distract people from God and convincing people ghosts exist is one way to do it... it basically implies that there is no afterlife. In regards to the nasty stuff in the basement, I think that's the demons who inhabit those things.

I hated right before i got saved...when i was learning about God i always felt watched and used to get headaches. I think that was demons. I havent experienced it ahain since i was saved though.

He wasn't actually. While his mother was alive, seh did take him and his siblings to church. However, in his personal beliefs.. while he mostly believed most of the bible... he couldn't come to terms that it was just one god running everything... he thought surely the universe was ran on a more poly-theological way.. You see this beliefs in teh way he structured the silmarillion. When he wrote about the valar.. the group of "angels" who Illuvatar sent into the earth to be gaurdians and help protect Illuvatar's children who would come later and be born of the earth.. and they went there.. but, while they were angelic beings, to the children of the earth, they were still almost like Gods as most of them were without knowledge of Illuvatar. Interestingly enough tho, Sauron, and all teh wizards were all in teh same group of angelic types... but when Melkor took his "fall from grace" as it were... he had persuaded many of the lesser angelic ranks to follow him... some did in secret and some openly.. Sauron was one of who did openly.. and some went later on and some in secret. now, i find that the entire story of Melkor really resembles the story of how Satan also known as Lucifer fell from his grace, taking a third of angels with him. Also, Tolkein had his own misconceptions about what happened with our souls when we pass away. @ samauri: most people assume that your soul goes to one of either locations "immediately"... however, I won't say that i agree or disagree with that. What i'll say is that I believe time in the sense of "immediate" outside of earth adn outside of humanity doesn't work the same way. and.. what would be "immediate" in teh heavens could seem to take centuries in our time... or, our concept fo time... it says in the bible that a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day... Here is a verse.. and please set aside your preconceived ideas and conceptions... and when you study this.. just meditate on it.. and let the word of God do it's work in you.. and let the Lord open his word up with in your mind and heart... Ecclesiastes 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

I used to take a class in church called demonology. It was very interesting. I learned how evil spirits are everywhere and can bind or hinder you if you don't have God's protection.
When I was younger my best frined had a collection of troll dolls, the ones with the jewels in their belly. I used to tell her that the dolls had evil spirits and that she should not play with them. I don't think she believed me. Her family is no longer christian, she does drugs and she is lesbian. Sometimes we underestimate what satan can do in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones. That's why it is important to know that satan and demons are real, and they are not something to toy with.

Now I have been at christian churches where evil dewelled in, and where there during the service. So the object have little to do from what I have seen.

well, i don't think the topic owner meant that all things are evil in and of themselves.. she was only making a general caution... because it can happen. she wasn't saying ti was the case for everyone.

I agree with your pastor. I always feel that same way when I go somewhere new. I even found myself doing that when my grandmother moved into her new house a few months ago.
