Okay, back when i was about 13, my mom taught me this game that a lot of people do to help with their vocabulary and spelling of Japanese words (romaji, katakana, and hiragana all work fine with this game, but for this thread, please use romaji for those who aren't kana-equipped on their computers... like me. ;_; thanks.)

RULES:

The main person starts with a word like "Neko" or cat. The next person has to take another word that has the same ending as that one. so, since NEKO is two characters, NE and KO, the next person has to use the KO ending as the beginning of a new word. So, this person would use KONBU as the next word, and another person would take the BU ending and make a word out of that.

Words that can NOT be used are words like GOHAN, which have an N ending. Remember, shiritori is a game based on the ending of a word and is supposed to be infinite. the moment someone posts an "n" word or a word that is not of Japanese or Romaji origin (ex. - Computaa is okay 'cuz it's an actual japanese word derived from an english one. Burito will not be accepted because it's only referred as a mexican burrito instead of a Japanese burrito. Since the Japanese have Computaas but not Burritos, Burrito would not work and Computaa would win.

Other than that, please use words in Romaji, but DO NOT use people's japanese names or company names. it can't be a name of something, but it can be a type, like say you wanted to use a bird reference since someone your opponent doesn't know animals that well and he/she just used the word HACHIMITSU (honey) on you. a TSU substitute could be TSUBAME, which is a swallow.

Well, since i'm the creator of this thread, I'll start with:

RAMEN!

...and now i just lost before starting... because it has a N ending.

REDO!!!

But two more rules: a common Shiratori trick used on newbies is the Kobutanukitsuneko. basically, Kobuta is piglett, tanuki is raccoon, kitsune is fox, and neko is cat. notice that right after neko, kobuta fits right in. this makes an infinite halo. So, to prevent that, remember you CAN NOT use multiples of a word in a single round... and that a round doesn't end until someone loses or runs out of ideas (which i shall have a cutoff at 3 days of inactivity in the thread.)

final rule: Please post the english word in parentheses so that other people can learn from it. It keeps everyone from getting bored and also keeps cheaters at bay.

NOW THAT YOU ALL HAVE READ THE RULES, LET'S BEGIN!!!

Now i'll start with:

KOBUTA (word: Piglett)

[EDIT]: It has been brought to my attention that there already is a shiritori game in progress in the main part of the forum... however, this one will have NO particular subjects, since this will be intended for those of lower japanese skills.

if this is still in violation, i apologize for the inconvenience.
