So, I've been transitioning into the emo scene for the past eight months. It was very slow proccess-- I felt kind of lukewarm about it at first-- I had to stick my foot in to see if the water was too cold. sweatdrop
I really am in love with everthing about emo-subculture. I have an immense appreciation for the music, the fashion...everything!!! I've met some pretty cool people!!
Anyways-- I guess I should get to my point. Just about everyone that I know has called me a poser and things similar to that. I DON'T WANT TO BE A POSER! I really don't. It's a pretty frustrating thing to here.
I don't know-- I haven't really been able to really figure myself out...or find my niche. I guess I am reading too much into this, but with all things considered it's a pretty discouraging thing to hear!!

I'm in Australia. Emos are scarce. Thus every 'emo' is labelled 'poser'

Well emotive hadxcore does support non-conforming.
Try and find your own style and if you don't like something don't do it just cause be like: ******** that s**t hardxcore.

I don't think you are a poser. I think you are what you were saying finding your niche. I'm in the almost in the same boat as you(I've been thinking about it and trying it out also), but I haven't been called a poser, because the people in my area knows that I can call them on their bullshit. There was only one authentic emo at my school and I think he graduated, the rest of them are as fake as they want to be.
