Anyone else name their instrument? If so where'd it come from? (Just me and my curiousity-that-shall-one-day-kill-me...)
Like my baby (yes, it's my baby stare ) is named Eidolon. While the meaning doesn't exactally fit...(n. pl. ei·do·lons or ei·do·la (-l) 1.A phantom; an apparition. 2. An image of an ideal. ) I like how it sounds. I found the name in one of Edgar Allen Poe's poems, Dreamland, I believe.
Looked the word up, and decieded I liked how it sounded.
Now, a show of hands. Who out there actually cared? (Ehehehehe...)

*raises hand* I like knowing where people get their names!
I think that the meaning might fit... the second one. 'An image of an ideal.' To me, an instrument is an ideal in itself, and you love your violin, so I think that Eidolon is a good name.
Mine is named Ajan. I'm a Lord of the Rings freak, and I know some elvish - primitive elvish, the language spoken by the first elves on Middle Earth. I'm not sure it's authentic, but it sounds cool.
Anyway, in the primitive elvish dictionary, Ajan is entered like this:
ajan- adv. Holy
I'm not sure how that name stuck, but it's his now. My violin isn't my baby. He's my heart, and my love. Who needs a boyfriend? xd

I never really named my violin, but I usually call it SFV...AKA Stupid Flippin Violin because its SO darn well, whats the word...bitchy about how and when it wants to play right...it also has a tendency to snap the E string as I;m playing and snap me in the face...its happened TWICE scream I swear the things possesed or something!

Ouch! The worst an E string ever got me was on the knuckles. More of an annoyance that actual pain...(Stupid school instruments...) Ooowww. Football shall die due to the fact that I caught the ball wrong YESTERDAY, jammed my fingers on my LEFT HAND, and IT STILL HURTS! At least I cant PLAY. (Sorta.) Otherwise, if you hear about some psycho going and torching all of the school footballs, that'd be me. ^^;;

Football shall die due to the fact that I caught the ball wrong YESTERDAY, jammed my fingers on my LEFT HAND, and IT STILL HURTS! At least I cant PLAY. (Sorta.) Otherwise, if you hear about some psycho going and torching all of the school footballs, that'd be me. ^^;; oh it did hurt and I had marks both times (the second time drew blood) My violin teacher blames the strings, I blame the manevolent spirits in my violin scream I've done the football thing too, though I sprained my left wrist and couldn't hold the violin for a couple of weeks...don't go torch the balls though, the smell is awful

Well my first ones did... But then I borrowed Tim's violin so it was Tim's Violin... So now I got my sister's violin and it really echoes and has a nice sound... Anyway still haven't found a name bizzare enough for mine...
