Do any of you out there know if there are any video games of MTG?

There have been a few.

There was the old old old Shandalar, which had you as a guy walking around battling random guys and picking up new cards. That was pretty fun, but the card pool is ancient by now.

There was Magic: Battlegrounds which I never played but I heard wasn't so great.

There's Magic Online which is fun, but costs a lot of money (since you have to buy the cards).

Then, of course, I suppose you could call Apprentice and Magic Workstation "video games" as well.

Okay, to sum it up:

Magic: The Gathering (aka: Magic: Shandalar)
..........Had two expansions (Spells of the Ancients [expansion set] & Duels of the Planeswalker [play people online])
..........Does not work normally on anything other than a Windows 9x system (get out your compatability programs to make it run on XP)

Magic: Battlemage
..........PC or Playstation
..........Really not that great

Magic: The Gathering Armageddon (Arcade Game)
..........Only about 6 ever produced
..........1 found in WotC building, Seattle, Washington
..........Not using the "cardgame" rules

Magic: Battlegrounds
..........Doesn't use card game rules
..........Gameplay similar to M:TG Armageddon
..........Not considered that great of a game

Magic: The Gathering (Dreamcast Game)
..........Released in Japan in 2001

Magic: The Gathering Online (aka: MTGOL)
..........Third WotC authorized M:TG online game (Duels of the Planeswalkers being first, Apprentice being second)
..........Costs actual money for digital cards (Meaning not real, but you have them online)
..........You can collect a set online to get a set in real life shipped to you

It's been known to run on 98 and ME as well. You just need a compatability program to make it work for XP.

Cheap trick: If you don't patch the game, you can actually stop the game during your opponents untap/upkeep phase and tap all of their lands, mana burning them.

Habuki! You're avatar scares me, but thats the the point of this forum. *ahem* I have experience in battlegrounds, and I think it's awesome. It doesn't go by the card rules, basically because it doesn't use cards. I'll continue later. g2g...
