Hey, everyone. smile This thread is where you can talk about the most outlandish, strange, cool, incredible, or whatever other adjectives you can think of, rumors that you've heard concerning fighting games in the past, present or future.

For me, it was the rumor for Sonic & Tails in Super Smash Bros Melee. That one was pretty out there at the time, and I knew something had to be up with it.

Dead or Alive 6: all naked, all the time.

That's one I hope is true.

1) You can play against Reptile... but I remember there being something with Ermac. I can't remember if it was legit or not. I want to say it was a glitch.

2) Guile had what was called a "handcuffs" glitch. Meaning you could freeze the opponent a certain way (can't remember, had to deal with a blocked sonic boom and a throw iirc). The opponent would stay in this position until Guile hit them. Essentially, a Guile player could run time out with you stuck, then hit you with his quad fierce corner combo (j.hp, close s.hp xx sonic boom, f+hp) and win. The combo does 50% or better, so even if he was lower on life to begin with, it'll put him in the lead. He could also just hit you with his instant dizzy combo, then hit you with quad fierce to kill you.

3) This was a prank played by GamePro in their first April Fool's issue. This was the same one that said you could throw the rock in Chun-li's stage and Guile had a gun.

4) No idea who Blood Storm is >.>

To set the record, Yes, Blood Storm is a game. A fighting game to be exact. It had similar button system to Mortal Kombat, you could even do very blooding uppercuts and knock your opponents into a cliff. Not only that, it had very bloody fatalities. The original advertising had Daniel Pasena (Original Johnny Cage actor) help promote the game after a contract was broken with Midway after doing Mortal Kombat II.

It was one of the few fighting games made by Strata that was never realesed onto any game system, and it didn't stay in arcades for very long. The game not only allowed you to do fatalies, but the game also has over 100 secret taunts and game modes to play.

Anyways, here's some more interesting facts.

1.) If you play Jazz JackRabbit (Made during the DOS days) if you look carefully, there are some secret shapes based on anotehr game made by the same company called One Must Fall 2097 (another DOS game, a fighting game involving robots)

2.) If you ever remember a game called Raptor:Call Of The Shadows, if you set your computers date to say 05/16/95, the game will go into a secret mode where you will hear a new intro song and fight against cocnut tossing monkies and laser shooting cows. The date is in reference to Scotts Birthday, one of the programmers who made a ton of Apogee games, as well as Raptor.

3.) Did you know that one of the stage music in Actraiser is actually the theme intro song for a "B" movie called Barbarian Queen?

4.) The game Samurai Showdown is actually based on a Japanese "B" movie called Samurai Reincarnated. It has a lot of the same names and very similar story. Amakusa (Pronounced Ah-Mok-Sah), Jubei, and lots of others are all in it. If you are a true die-hard Samuria Showdown fan, try to find this movie. Not very impressive movie, but what did you expect from a "B" movie.

5.) In the first Virtua Fighter, there was suppose to be a character named Shiba who you could play as. He was taken out of the game becuase he was the only character with a Sword/Weapon.

6.) Did you know that the American version of Darkstalkers 3 for PSX also has a Jap mode??? YOu have to use a GameShark or other cheat device to activate it.

7.) For those of you who are FInal Fantasy Fans and did not know, in Final Fantasy VII, there is in fact a TEST MODE that was left in the game, but in order to get to the test mode, you have to use a game cheating device to activate it. It was originally used for testing purposes to test the items and game locations to help fix bugs if they found any. This is also try for Final Fantasy VIII and various other RPG games made by Squresoft for PSX.

8.) Here is one I found out on my own. Wing Commander IV has a serious bug for PSX. Did you know that the intro movie, it's not possible to see the entire intro due to it's lengthy size? The PSX for some reason can't handle the entire intro movie due to it's very big file size. This is not a joke. What will happen is the movie will freeze after a few minutes when it starts to pan around inside a bar where Mark Hammel is inside this bar. When it does pan, it freezes and you can play until the PSX finishes reading the movie file, even while it's stuck on a frozen frame.
