CNN's coverageThe 265th Pope is the man from Germany. He's ultra-traditional and ultra-conservative. Further research will show if he's good for the Jews or not. My rabbi doesn't know. sweatdrop

I don't know.....I guess only time will tell, so right now I'm trying to be open minded about everything.I really have no idea anything about him, except that his real last name is really funny. (ratzinger) lol

Thanks, famusamu, I knew he had some kind of ties to Nazism, I just couldn't remember what. That's unfortunately such a gray area with this man because the Nazi youth movements were so compulsory... oy.

gah i'm kind of shaking on this pope thing
he was really close to john paul and i heard they shared alot of the same ideas so i think that will be good...
i'm just hoping he won't be a whack job.. well he kind of is already, but you can't expect perfection in anyone

I'm actually a little hesitant now, as I just found out he was in the Nazi Youth. If it truly was against his will and he didn't want to join in it, then that's good. However, if not, that means some tough times ahead. sad

oh i think the pope isn't much a threat to anyone
last night on the daily show they compaired him to the guy from willy wonka (the older version) you know the dude whom owns the factory thing.
lol.
so he can't be much of threat if he is compaired to a dude whom had little green short people

I heard (from my dad supposedly quoting the World Jewish Congress) that he architected the diplomatic ties between Israel and the Vatican City. o.o
