Ah, yes.
So while most of you are out in your little summer vacation frolicking about and generally doing nothing which is the point of the damned thing, I decided to get a job. I got a job for obvious reasons:
1) Music.
2) Putting $200 in my bank account per week for college.
3) Clothes/whatever I want when I go visit my dad up in Vancouver,
4) Drugs!
And what job did I get, you may ask? Unfortunatly I didin't get that job as a children's counselor (I really wanted that one.) But my freind Euan got us a job in construction. Now, it does pay $15 an hour which is godamned good money, but it's hard work. Iv'e only worked there for a week and it's intense. And my boss is a grouchy mother ********. He's always yelling and swearing and telling people what to do and blah blah blah. Gah, he gets on my nerves. Luckily I don't see him much, he's usually overseeing other parts of the site.
The interesting thing about this job is every day that I go in, he assigns me to do things Iv'e never done before in my life, so I"m learning as I go along. And every day it seems that the things he's setting me are getting harder and harder. Let's take a look:
1) Painting 130 pieces of wood.
2) Sanding 130 pieces of wood!
3) Getting on a scaffolding and unscewing all these piecses of metal that hold the ceiling up.
4) Bashing the s**t out of those pieces of metal with a crowbar, and taking out the walls.
5) Putting all that s**t in a pile.
He might ask Euan and I to take down a cement wall on Monday which wold be really hard. Ah well. Maybe I"ll update this.xD So yes, that's my job.

I am in the process of getting a job right now
I should know by the end of today if I have the job at the sushi place
and if I dont get that I will most likely work at a starbucks

I was going to get a job this summer, but then I realized I'm only going to be in Kingston for like a month. xD Maybe. I go to Vancouver July Twenty-seventh, stay there for about two weeks, drive to Calgary with them and fly back from Calgary on July Twenty-eighth. Then I'm in Toronto and the Toronto-ish area until at least August Fifth for my sister's wedding party thingy... And I'm going to see Cleppy, because she's moving there xP I get to see both of my moved friends, wewt =D
So yeah, busy summer. xD I wish I could've gotten a job.; I'm actually rather pissed. :B I want to move out as soon as I can, so I was saving up money. Come September, I'll get one.

biggrin welcome to the workforce Shroomie!
My job is nothing like that and the pay difference is evident of that. I make 7 bucks. D: sooo not enough for a college student.
Jobs suck a**. :3 even mine does. Making smoothies for shitty s**t head customers every now and then totally ruins even the best of days. Plus you're left drained and not feeling like homework.
D: wow, super manual labor! Dx ugh you must be so tired at the end of the day! Although, smashing s**t up sounds like fun every now and then :3
200 a week? OMG I make like... 200 ever OTHER weeks
XD I'd probably be no good at that job though. I'm too slow and rather weak. I'd burn out before half the day was done! How many hours do you work?
:3 this summer has no frolicing for me. Unless you count frolicing to the front of my smoothie place to greet customers with an everlasting smile and need to please them in every smoothie way possible! D: severy now and then I jut want to say "No, I can't get you a strawberrywave. In fact, why are you here? Why aren't you doing something constructive with your life instead of trying to make me give you every discount int he store? Why are you looking for freebies you N00b! OMFG *shots*"
D: yeah some jerk showed me an expired AAA card... then asked for two discounts on top of eachother, ... then tried to get me to "think it's double stamp day" what an a*****e.

God damn you. I'm not Bermudian, they don't like me at any of the grocery stores cuz of my long hair, and I don't get an allowance.
Oh, and my parents won't buy me anything.

Skiz-Erz God damn you. I'm not Bermudian, they don't like me at any of the grocery stores cuz of my long hair, and I don't get an allowance. Oh, and my parents won't buy me anything. D: omg it pisses me off when people judge by long hair!!!! DDDD< are long haired people that bad? Of course my views are bias... *huggles her OD* D: but seriously,... I feel like it's as bad as being racist. D: OMFG ur a hippy! u have long hair! you're lazy, shady and I don't like u. No hiring u long haired hippy! >__> I really really HATE people who have a thing against long haired employees. I understand if it's a health issue like at a food place, but seriously "cut your hair and get a job" makes me want to beat people. It really does.

Mitch Hedburg (R.I.P.) I have long hair, and see, people associate long hair with drug use. I wish long hair was associated with something other than drug use, like an extreme longing for cake. People would see a guy with long hair and say "Damn, that ******** eats cake, he's on bundt cake". Mothers telling their daughters "don't bring the cake-eater over here anymore, he smells like flour. Did you notice how his eyes widened when he found out your birthday was fast approaching?"

I've always wondered why there's a stigma with guys and long hair. I mean, c'mon. Men with long hair is teh sex. And same with the job thing...srsly, wtf. Who the hell cares the length of your hair -- minus working with food...cause, yeah, keeping hair short while dealing with food is a smart thing, or even just tying it up -- so long as you look somewhat professional? *b***h, moan, complain* How long's your hair, Skiz? I got a digi-camera Spork, next time you drop off pictures to be scanned I'll take a picture or two. =0
BUT. Jobs. Bah. I don't have any luck with finding places to work. xD; Since I'm 15 most places dun' wanna hire me. Kinda sucks since I'm consistantly broke. o_o I guess volunteering at the folklife fest gives me experience though. *Shrug*
Kratty got the best idea for saving money at cons though, volunteer at 'em for 20 hours and you get your registration money back~!
