Well my advice is to just try one. Erase like face of a character and then erase the hair of an other one and put it together.

Its not really all that hard. Sometimes pixel artist,whom draw very well on pencil and paper,scan a small simple but nice drawing and trace over it on paint or whatever art program they may have. I havent tried it yet but I plan on it soon.

You could copy pictures that you see and re-colour it.

Here is how I got started . . . basicly, get some sprites and zoom in, then study how they are made, trust me, this helps you big time!  That was my first pixel art . . . =D

It's hard to help someone without knowing what they are having trouble with. Just saying "I'm not good at sprites" doesn't help us that much because we don't know what it is that you need help with. Basically try to make a sprite or animation, post it, and I can tell you how to fix any of the problems that come up.

my advice: look at other people sprites-just save them, open them with paint, and zoom in. maybe try to mimic their style too. create a sprite right next to one that you like. also, practice. practice. practice.
