Yeah, that's right. We're going to join the trend and have our own thread!
Post comments, questions, and anything related to the new layout deal.
Don't just post with 'omg it suxx!!!!!!'Tell why. I don't think anyone's really going to go crazy with n00bish hate over it, but venturing into site feedback has already overflowed my tolerance for it today. xD
Speaking of site feedback- Place for all those who fear change to congregate? o.x
-Avatar in corner is bad quality now. Seems like more of a mistake that anything else to me.
-Why can't the menu at the top drop down/whatever like it used to?
-Why is the reply window font different?
And, damn, newbs get lots of stuff now. o.o I guess that's kind of good. Maybe getting items to start with will make them less worried about going n00b-spam happy to get their first clothes? Probably not. At least old users and their mules can get the old clothes too. The new sign up process with the tour thing seems like a pain, but I guess it would help if you really had no clue about the site.

The bug with the image is annoying me, and the altered font and quote tags...
And that bloody menu thing, I have to load two pages to go to where I want to...
Apart from that, I still prefer the old one. The new scheme is less... gaia, than the old one.
But apart from all that... some of the new stuff is an improvement. I expect most of those problems to be ironed out soon enough.

Waffle Dem0n This is getting ******** sick. They need to stop updating the ******** layout, and WORK ON THE ******** SITE. FIX GLITCHES, WORK ON FUN THINGS, WHATEVER. But stop changing the layout, god. It's ANNOYING.
They said towns and profile updates are coming next. There's a lot of little things I've seen people suggest that would be good, like a way to save outfits or a report this PM button (easier to report chainletters). I'd like an update full of feature updates like that Dx
What I'm really waiting for is the new casino items. Casino items are the best :0
@redem- The main banner image is gone, that really makes it almost immediately feel like a different site. o.x

They had me used to tabbing out everything...
Then they switched to pulldown menus which made me click the bloody top ones fruitlessly...
Now they're just messing with me... mad

Seems to me, this new layout would appeal more to younger children. Is gaia really turning into something like 'neopets'? This may sound slightly extreme, but the 'tour' sounded very patronising to me. Perhaps it's just newb-friendly. The talk of 'playing games' and 'dressing up your avatar' is a key part of gaia, as we all know, but this sort of thing really will attract a younger audience.
Gaia is supposed to be PG-13, though i've seen several threads which do borderline this, and a lot even at PG-13 which wouldn't be sutiable for a younger audience (talking about 10 + 11 year old's here). We really don't want gaia to have to introduce a swearing/content ban (i.e. being warned for saying a word like 'p***s' or 's**t' in the forums).

Alot of the people who do the border line PG 13 stuff are younger though :0 It's so widespread on gaia that I don't think they could ever try to warn for that. They've already said you can't report for cussing, but you can use a filter.
I think they just wanted to give it a cleaner look. And if all the n00bs highly esteemed individuals in site feedback with brilliant opinions can be trusted, it's not easier to use.
I don't know why they did the kids in the logo. I guess it's to make it feel more.. welcoming or some s**t, but I think it'd be cool with NPC's.
As far as games and dress up goes, well, I'm kind of glad they do features for profiles and guilds and stuff now. Before this update the intro thing they had pushed games and customizing too.
The part of the tour that's s**t to me is having to click around and check off the activities to get the gold. >.o That's really making me feel like an idiot 10 year old. And it's like 50 gold! What the ******** is that. They might as well not do the gold and just give you the list of activities to check out. You get a mega set of clothes now anyways.

I really only have two problems with the new thing, and everyone else has already mentioned them. Firstly, I have to load more pages before I can get where I'm going, and secondly, it takes forever for pages to load.
I think that the second is caused by server overload from the first. Why not just make it easy?

I simply do not like the design the kids on top just does not feel right for the type of environment for the members here. (It is more of an Anime feel) I liked the previous design, but hey that is just me. As for the rest of it I do not mind just change the Logo (Please)

Okay it was a bit of a shocker comming back after being gone for so long but i'm okay with it i think. Its sorta easier to use than myspace. But its slowly losing its fun appeal with the new changes. Over all though i like it.
