Disney has just released a new brand of dog food called--get this-- Old Yeller. Yes. The movie where the dog gets rabies and they have to kill it. What in all the hells could make you think that this is a good image to project over your brand of dog food? The bag even has a yellow Lab that's apparantly supposed to be Yeller (the novel's dog was supposed to be a Blackmouth Cur but the movie erroneously portrayed it as a Lab) on the front. Unfortunately, I can't find the ingredients for it, but I'll bet you anything that it ends up being worse than Ol' Roy. If anyone sees it in the supermarket, mind copying them down? I want to see just how bad this marketing ploy ends up being.

This has actually been on the market for a while, a few dogs had it at the kennel I worked at. gonk I almost died the first time I saw it. And yes, the ingredients are singularly horrific. By-products, dyes, BHA/BHT, corn, brewer's rice, pretty much everything bad you can possibly put in a dog food.

Leave it up to Disney.......what makes them think they can make a decent dog food anyway? They should stick to the cartoons & movies...

Has anyone sent letters, or anything like that to the company? It seems to me that actually making a fuss about it would be the best way to get it changed...

To be honest, I'm not particularly interested in changing it--I think it's hilarious that Disney is using a name that instantly calls up memories of people having to kill their pet because of rabies.

Yes let's all get food named after a dog that in a movie got Rabies that makes so much sense. Might have been a little more sense to choose a different movie at very least it's not like that's the only move they made that had a dog. Or better yet disney can not make dog food.
