"Shove off?" Reno laughed. "Who said we'd let you go anywhere, even if you really wanted to shove off?" His hand with the cigarette waited idley for him to bring it back to his lips, but for the moment, it wasn't going anywhere, and it only made Rude want it more. But he decided against it, once again.
Rude furrowed his brow in Mirage's direction. What was she tinking? He didn't know quite yet how to respond to it.

Reno laughed, taking another drag off his cigarette. And he did it, deliberately, in front of the staff.
"Yo, even if we can't team up..." he said, glancing over at Rude, and then back to Mirage. "We'll still see each other. And...with all these missions that are being thrown down our throats, we're going to be bound to team up with more than just two people a group," he said, smiling.
Rude nodded his head. "Everything works out eventually, doesn't it?" Words of optimism. It surprised Reno as much as it surprised Rude.

Reno couldn't help but burst out in laughter. "See, this is why we like you," he said, grinning even as he took his final drag of the cigarette. "Ought to quit that," he said to himself, shaking his head as he put the cigarette out on the table beside his bed. He didn't often smoke. When he did, it was for situations like this. He had really needed it.
"Don't worry, though, Babe. We'll be sure to keep the lovin' out of public," Reno winked, a smirk playing across his face. He was feeling much better now, the thought of betrayel sinking into the back of his mind. He was glad Mirage had been able to set his thoughts on other things, something Rude hadn't been able to do, unfortunately. But he knew it wasn't the bald Turk's fault. Things were messed up for all three of them. And together, they could move on.
"If I can deal with Reno, I think I can deal with you," he said, smirking as he gaze fell upon his red headed partner. And he, Reno, who did nothing about it but stick out his tongue, a smile on his lips when the tongue withdrew.

"Coffee..." Rude mumbled closing his eyes as he dreamt of the liquid.
"...I'm tired, too," Reno said, yawning. He rolled over in his bed, his back to Rude and Mirage. He lifted one hand, waved it a little, and said, "Good night, then..." He stared down at the floor for a moment before adding something.
"...You really helped me out today." And then he closed his eyes.
Rude kept his sunglasses on, waiting for the lights to turn off so he would feel more comfortable with taking them off. He adjusted his body, becoming more comfortable in the bed, and he brought his gaze over to Mirage.
"Glad you're still alive," he whispered, and turned his head back to the ceiling.

Reno smiled, even as he finally fell into his slumber. Things were alright. For now, he would try and forget the mind numbing events of the day. But his pride still throbbed in his chest. Why did you break me? it would ask. Hesitating only brought you misery, and you've known that for a long while. Why did you break me? Why did you break me? Continuous questions. And he, too, would ask himself this same question. Why?
His restless, sleeping body rolled over again, his face visible to Mirage and Rude, and although his sleep had happened fast, it was somewhat surprising he could sleep with the lights still on. He had grown used to it, of course. And, on top of that, he was ridiculously tired. His brow furrowed in his sleep and his jaw tightened.
What kind of Turk are you? it asked. It shoved rocks at him, this invisible thing. His pride. It was shattered like glass, enough that he could see how it throbbed. He began mumbling in his sleep, but the words were incoherent, and they stopped as soon as they started.
Rude removed his sunglasses and placed them on a table beside him. He rubbed his eyes before watching Reno's face change to aching. He had just been smiling...but it seemed his dreams would leave him restless. He sighed and looked up at the ceiling. He wondered if Mirage was still awake...but decided it was just best if he slept. He would be mostly healed in the morning. More cure materia and some pain killers and he'd be able to beat the s**t out of that guy who caused them all this s**t. All that pain...
"We'll get her back..." Rude said quietly, looking in Reno's direction. He meant they'd bring her back. "And we'll kill that little s**t." The bald Turk finally fell asleep.

The nocturnal crimson eyes of the bedside clock as it kept eternal and silent vigil over her silent form read a devastating 2:33 a.m. She could not recall precisely what had caused her to wake, only that she had done as bidden, half pondering that perhaps she would find sleep once more. Still, the sirens of slumber grimly refused to cast their sang spell of dreams about her, and so she maintained a silent vigil of the hours as they danced past, their ebon skirts flaring as they whirled past, fading to ebon to pale lilac to rose to gold as dawn at last graced the world.
She sighed. Sleep had denied her this night. There was simply nothing else for it but to rise. Running her hands over her face in a somewhat weary gesture, as much to rouse herself as to dash away the grit beneath either eye, she sat up in a careful fashion, so as not to disturb either of her companions, who, it would appear, slumbered on.
A casual tug of a connecting wire deprived her of the silent company of an I.V. It shrieked in an indignant fashion, and she furrowed her brow. "Shhh!" She admonished, before simply severing its "vocal cords" with a deft jerk of the cable from the wall. Wincing, hoping in vain that many still slept through that racket, she gingerly tested her weight upon the chill tile of the floor. Enough waiting. Time to do things her way.

Eyelids covering gray eyes shot open at the sound from the IV and Mirage. Rude made no movements, other than his chest with its steady upward advance and its fall. His eyes, adjusting to the dark as best they could, attempted to fix on Mirage's form.
What was she doing? Going somewhere? Not without him. Reno was sleeping peacefully now, it seemed, and if Mirage was going somewhere, he would follow merely out of curiosity and in order to protect, if that might be the case.

A soft laugh came from Rude's mouth.
"Where are you trying to go?" he asked, rolling over to face her in the bed. It didn't really matter now if she knew he was awake or not. Whether she liked it or not, if she was going somewhere, he was most likely going to follow her anyway. Mostly because now he couldn't go to sleep for a while.
His speaking had been quiet so he wouldn't awaken Reno.
