The economy in the U.S. basically lives off of oil supplies, but they are way to careless with it. All the oil spills that have happened and destroyed wildlife, is horrible. We need to find a better way to operate automoblies and everyday uses in the home.

if they could improve electric cars and slowly getting rid of gas powered cars we would have a hand in improving the air, then people would have to just clean up the way they lived and maybe inprove the things we need that are gas powered then that would be a start to a better and longer living earth if it ever happens tho heart heart

Yes I agree. They say that humans are the smartest animals on the world, I fail to believe that. gonk I believe we are not the smartest and probably the dumbest if I may say so. I'm not saying all humans are, but the majority in American are. I for one don't think of myself as that stupid coming to nature wise, and neither is Cirena, but there are some idiotic people out there.

Most people are idiots but some are trying. There are now cars that can run on electricity, compressed air, sunlight, even hydrogen. Better for then enviroment in many ways.

True. I love riding my bike. And my teacher rides her bike instead of driving as well. But for those that need to drive, like when going out of town then try to use a more enviromently friendly vehicle.

That's one reason I don't have a car, the other being the outrageous costs sweatdrop ... That, and it's much easier for me to hitch rides or ride my bike; I feel a lot less guilty that way. 3nodding

There is a way to use a diesel car in an environmental way already - it's called biodiesel. You could use clean vegetable oil too; that's what the first diesel engines were run on; but it's not good for current engines in the long run. There are a few gas stations scattered around here that sell biodiesel, but it's expensive because the manufacturers are small-scale and things are more expensive at small scale. (Though it's comparable to the current gas prices xp )

You can also make your own - people have driven across the US on biodiesel getting oil from McDonalds and other fast food places and making biodiesel before continuing, but some of the reactions in the process give off some nasty fumes that you need to be real careful around. None of the ingredients are nasty in themselves and the final result is quite safe, but the reactions produce bad fumes. The exhaust smells like french fries!
