I don't know if the rest of you get the AuthorTracker updates, but I just got a new one today. Mentioned the 13 Alarming Secerets pdf, BUT also included a picture of the cover of Book the 13th!!
Damn...it doesn't seem like I can copy it in here...I'll describe it then and maybe other book sites will be posting it soon. The spine is tan and the border is yellow..can't tell the details of the border...they might be VFD symbols! surprised In the background are the Baudelaires (Klaus then Violet, then Sunny) in their Denoument uniforms, in the water...doesn't look deep, so I assume they are at shore. Violet's taken off her shades, as possibly Sunny (looks like she's holding something but I can't tell if it's rope or glasses). Klaus has his glasses (but not shades) on. In the foreground, are a large pair of feet, with the left shoe gone. Looks like a VFD symbol on the ankle...Olaf? Looks like there's also rope or seaweed in the foreground too. The scenery behind them, is a blue sky with clouds. Looks like there might be more in there too...but it's hard to tell. It's a small picture without any enlargement feature. Tricky Mr. Helquist... ninja

Thanks for the picture, Zanmato! The cover's interesting, isn't it?...it serious could be somebody else and NOT Olaf given all we have to go by is the tattoo. Actually, I just noticed our prone figure seems to be wearing blue and white striped pants...did anyone wear anything like that in TPP?

i also got this e-mail.....i was shocked at the name cause all the other 12 books were not named like that but i also foud out the 13th secret about lemony snicket.....he is finished

Yeah we've known about the 13th secret for a while now. It can mean so little or so much. Same with some of the other secrets too. There's a thread here discussing it if you're interested.

WOW! Thanks for the blow up! Where'd you get that?! eek biggrin
So let's look at the cover more closely. Lots of seaweed, not ropes like I originally thought. Though there is some rope in the foreground and a fish. The ankle DOES have a VFD insignia on it. Blue and white striped pants on our prone figure. Looks like either part of the heel of the right shoe (on our left) is either chipped off or it's a convieniently placed piece of debris. Looks like there's shipwreck debris behind the Baudelaries. Behind Violet it looks like a birdcage (connection to the VFD crows?)...behind Sunny...a wheel? radio? It's interesting how the reflections on the water and the surf match the pants nicely. biggrin And the cover border looks like...apples? Conections to the bowls of fruit throughout the series? Anyone else have any thoughts? Discuss!

I think the man laying in the water is Olaf. The pants look like his style... although I think the toenails would be longer.
Klaus looks angry, Sunny looks scared, and I'm not sure about Violet.

Yeah, pin stripes would be Olaf's style, they actually remind me more of PJ pants...a bit too wide of a stripe for pinstripes. But yeah, I was wondering about the toenails. xd Klaus looks angry or annoyed. Sunny scared, definately...Violet looks....angsty, or in a sad state of shock. She has the 100 yard stare going on I think....which is probably not a good thing....

I don't think it's a good thing, either. cry Well, we're techinically seeing the bottom of the foot, so maybe we're seeing the puckering of skin there...like when you've been in the shower or bath too long. Cause Helquist is awesome like that. wink
