I do love the wilderness and to go out and enjoy nature is one of my passions! I like to hike and to take nature photographs, that includes wildlife. As of right now im waiting on a new camera! So this thread is to discuss your favorite nature experience. I will put mine on later.

Mine would have to badger watching on a moonlit night, perched in the branches of a big old tree - with Tawny Owls hooting somewhere nearby.

I love nature photography too! I enjoy going to rocky beaches where there aren't that many ppl and watch the power of the ocean. I also enjoy going to evergreen forests with streams and waterfalls.

YES! Evergreen forests are beautiful, the streams and waterfalls give you that surreal feelings and give a great background sound!

Yeah, there are a lot of them where I live.

Ok my ideal nature experience would definitely have to be in an Evergreen forest with streams and waterfalls in the distance! As night approaches I pearch on a large rock watching the moonlight reflect off the falling water sink into the dark pool beneath my camp area, then as my eyelids start to feel heavy I will lay to rest, listening to the creatures around me as I fall to sleep.

I would just stand/sit at the edge of a cliff overhanging a rocky beach and watch the water...There would be an evergreen forest behind me with streams and waterfalls and such. I would watch the sea part of the day and spend the rest walking through the forest. heart

that would definitly be this one...

The view from the peak of Old Rag Mountain, appx 2600 feet up, in the Shenandoah National Park. The whole hiking circuit was about 10 or so miles, and included a rock scramble for at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the progress. Hell of a lot of fun!

Awww!! All these ideas sound so romantic. I'm sure your girlfriends adore you guys. biggrin ( And if you don't have any, those girls are missing out, lol. )

I don't have any particular experiences that were "favourites". Except maybe when I went camping with my boyfriend and his parents in Ontario (near Lake Huron.) We hiked through this nature trail that was supposed to arrive at a lighthouse.. but it was MUCH longer than we expected. The trail suddenly opened up on this giant pink rock formation that overlooked everything around us. We could see the Lake as well as the trees in the mountains we were camping in. It was beautiful and exhilarating. And yes, I said that right- pink rock formation. It was weird. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/PsychoKatie/2005/cce01d19.jpg ( My boyfriend on the left, me on the right. ) We ended up staying there for a little, having a small picnic, I suppose, then we went back out. We couldn't really find the rest of the trail ( there were many that it could've been ), so we decided it was best. That same trip had many wonderful nature experiences. At night you could see every single star in the sky. I saw more than I ever had in my life. It was SO amazing. =) We also saw a Fox ( with a dead rabbit in its mouth.. *sigh* that's nature. ) as well as four bears- a Momma and her three cubs. They were amazingly cute!

Being in a very beautiful park with a goose on my lap, squirrels on my knees, and pigeons all around me as I sat by the water under a tree, feeding them all with some peanuts. One of my most memorable times in my life. This actually happened too, a goose sat on my lap, it just came up from the water and I hand fed it and it practically jumped up and sat on my lap. lol My mom was so devestated that she didn't bring a camera that day.

Camping at the beach miles from civilization no lights and so dark you can see the night sky in all it's true glory. Dam I miss that beach.
