p o w e r_d e s c r i p t i o n Primary Power: Intangibility- The power in which the molecules of one substance can shift in such a way that Candice can move through such substance. While incorporeal Candice is incapable of being perceived by the senses on a tangible or auditory level and yet can be perceived by sight. This power can affect what is on her person and at higher levels he can choose to affect or not to affect items within her range of touch.
Secondary Power: N/A Invisibility- As Candice is unaffected by the realms of the physical and yet still can be seen, invisibility complements her primary power, making her virtually undetectable to the human sense of sight.

Skill 1: Incorporeal
--------> (1.1) Phasing: Able to walk through walls ect.
-------------> (1.2) Selective phasing: Able to make only parts of body incorporeal.
------------------>(1.3) Phase item:Can touch a section to make it intangible. (this can be used in many applications like shorting out an electrical system or a computer ect.)

Skill 2: Ghost form
--------> (2.1) Spook: Able to affect the physical realm while incorporeal in a small way. (push levers and press buttons)
-------------> (2.2) Polterguise:Can manipulate the physical while incorporeal. (knock over small items, type on a keyboard)
------------------> (2.3) Ghost touch: Pick up an item and use it while incorporeal. (can also make item incorporeal with concentration)

Skill 3: Ninja (to be used in conjunction with invisibility)
--------> (3.1) Out of Sight: Undetectable to the human sense of sight (heat and other sensing equipment can still register Candice's presence)
------------> (3.2) Stalk: Using in conjunction with intangibility Candice can be hidden for all five human sense. (heat sensing and electro-sensing still works, but echo-location would no longer work)
-----------------> (3.3) Not there: The art of 'Not being Seen' Using invisibility and intangibility together she can fool most sensing equipment. Cannot be sustained without consistent concentration.

Signature Attack: N/A While immaterial and invisible Candice can place small charges or electrical devices into things with disasterous results.

Name: Candice Kiernan (Spriggin)
Born: Lincoln, England
Now Living: Florida, USA
Power: Intangibility and Invisibility

Personality: Candice is known for getting into things she is not suppose to. Happy-go-lucky and very friendly she tries everyone's best friend and then some. She loves adventures and can often create stories of herself and her friends as they travel to new worlds. Candice's favorite game is hide and seek. She is very good at hiding and is able to squeeze into the hardest spots. When she is alone however she can get rather snappish if bothered, especially when 'playing' with her mechanics. Taking things apart is the best way she figures out how they work and sometimes taking apart a person's brain with questions is the best way for her to figure out what they are talking about.

Now she is more mature and is a lot more easygoing. She has made fast friends with Ace, so much so that sometimes they are inseparable. Recently she found her father was living in Birmingham and spent the summer there to catch up with him. While he still does not know she is a super he did congratulate her in her love for mechanics. Candice came back with a re-newed sense of purpose and a drive to train properly so that one day she could let him know what else she could do. He also planted in her mind a few ideas that she is thinking of trying, including using the gadgets she loves to give her a fighting chance against the Darker supers.

Likes/dislikes: Candice hates being ignored and will try to be the center of attention, even if it is bad. She always tries to come up with the best ideas and will strive the hardest. She loves secrets and will go to lengths to learn every secret she can lay her hands on. Her favorite occupations are messing with her 'machines' and reading. She dislikes homework and 'busy work' and will often prefer to day dream instead. This can create a bit of a problem as she will get mad at herself for procrastinating if it turns out to be something important.

She now has accepted the fact that being ignored can sometimes be a good thing, especially as then you can get away with certain things. She still loves secrets and now uses her powers to get into places she shouldn't be. Candice has become quite industrial since coming back from England and now no-longer has a procrastination problem but she still will slip into laziness if not caught.

Casual Candice

Casual Description: Candice loves video games, so something with a controller or a PSP ect. would be perfect. Having her partially fading out (like maybe her feet partially see through would be a great way to show her powers as she is slowly learning to control her skill of phasing and invisibility. Definitely something casual and yet friendly with maybe a little bit of excitability as it's hard for her to sit still sometimes *grins*
Favorite Colors: Purple and Green
Favorite Outfit: Large baggy pants of neutral tones like dark blue or dark khaki-green. Lots of pockets in said baggy jeans, and held up by an unadorned, leather belt. Sleveless shirt, usually white, with another spaghetti strap shirt over the top (co-ordinating colour thought she is starting to wear contrasting colours in responce to Joshua's colour matching skills) or a blue or tan T-shirt with no sleves and a kitty face on the front (like the kiki-kitty t-shirt)
Must haves: Rainbow armwarmers! A utility belt with screwdrivers and a small hammer and other odds and ends.
Examples: Casual (she needs more gagets though like a DS or an iPod and large headphones around her neck) teen Sprig <-- good clothing example
Hair Changes: Candice will probably not cut her hair until it get's really long as Joshua never really thinks about taking her. Thus her hair will get rather long as she ages and will start to curl the longer it gets. One style she might develop is dreads or a ton of tight braids.

Super Spriggin

Super Description: She is usually found sneaking around or hacking into a computer... literally. While she still loves bright colours, her super-hero outfit has toned down a little. She still loves gadgets and will have them around her, but now they are more of the blackberry/grappeling hook types now.
Favorite Colors: Purple and Green(still)
Super Suit: Black tight pants (like leather or something) a looser sleeveless t-shirt with maybe another under it (she still likes the layering thing) She definitely has a more techno/cyber flair now and it shows in her colour choices.
Must haves: Something rainbow! (maybe her belt or the straps on her pants) A utility belt with screwdrivers and a small hammer, grappling hook and other odds and ends.
Examples: Super! (change the t-shirt a little to a space invader or something but I love the gloves/belt) Super Sprig <-- good gadgets example, Goggles <-- I love the look of these goggles, more goggles, top <-- maybe without those straps but the blue is awesome! stockings I can see her wearing those kind of pant/stocking things with the kneepads. Red boots, cool pants,
Hair Changes: She'll be keeping her dread look and playing around with it now. Probably have most of it piled up with a few long dreads hanging loose. Dreads!, dread-pile, another hair style

Name: Joshua McKinley
Job title: Systems Administrator
ID no. 435-7283-9979
Age: 29
Likes: Computer games, Codeing and programming
Dislikes: Aggressive people, loud noises, being in a crowd
Personality: Joshua is your typical geek, except he actually has a little bit of an ego. As a programmer for the NSA his job is to keep the computers running and, if needed, crack into places to get vital information on people the agency is watching. He doesn't like talking about work however so there is little chance he would ever 'spill the beans' Even though he is paid pretty well he prefers to live simply, the only thing he will splurge on is a new game. Joshua was given the guardianship of Candice when her family rejected her because of her powers. He feels sorry for the kid and is always glad to help out but as he doesn't really have the 'maternal instincts' things can be a little awkward. Candice's affinity with mechanics has been a way for them to get along will however and one day he hopes to pass on his knowledge.

Now, Candice and Joshua are inseparable. He had a bit of a worrying time when she went back to England to find her father. It was the first time he was worried about being replaced. He realized he wanted to keep taking care of her as a father instead of just a guardian. Upon her return he talked to her about it and she agreed to become a citizen of the USA and be adopted by Joshua. She decided to keep her old name but he is now her legal father. Joshua doesn't know it but Candice is also trying to set him up with the Liberian he fancies but that is another story.

Once upon a time...

With her natural tendencies to get people to like her, Candice almost always got her way. That changed when her parents divorced. Shunted from one house to another she became the shadow of herself. Candice became withdrawn and often would stay in her rooms where no one else could bother her. There she would take things apart, clocks, radios, anything she could get her hands one. Each time she took it apart she tried to get it back together, each time with various results. Candice saw her parents relationship as broken and hoped that, in her learning to fix things, she might be able to fix their marriage. That was not to happen.

When Candice was nine, her Mum found another man. Within the year there were to be married. Her dad vanished from the scene, never to appear again something the child mourned for as she was closer to her father. He was the one who had supported her love of mechanics while her mother wanted her to wear dresses and play with dolls. One particulary trying night her Mum was running around trying to get ready with her husband-to-be when Candice was trying to show off her school project.
Runaway
"Can you just disappear for just five minutes!" Her Mum was already late and didn't want to miss the begining of the play. Hastily she put on her earings as she brushed past the child, her long flowing skirt releasing a sweet perfume that she hadn't worn since she had broken things with Candice's father.

"That's Daddy's favorite smell!" Candice yelled, angry with being ignored and mad that her Mum was wearing her father's perfume for that man. "Take it off!"

"I can wear whatever perfume I wish, Candice Kiernan." Her Mum paused for a moment to glance down at her child. While she did love her daughter, Candice had a habit of causing trouble with her exuberant nature and was not always on the good list at school. Her new sullen personality at home had not helped. "Look, Jessica will be here in a minute. Why don't you go play in your room for a bit and I'll see your thing in the morning."

Candice looked up, tears brimming slightly as she put down the model bridge she had made out of wires and bits of wood. "Fine! I'll leave!" She stormed out of the room as her heart burned with the careless words. Running into her room, Candice pulled out her backpack. Angrily she tossed in a few bits of clothing, her favorite shirt, a green skirt, a teddy-lion that never left her side, some sweets she had snuck into her room a few days ago and her compass which was the only thing left of her fathers that she owned. She heard the door slam as her parents left and the baby sitter arrive. Looking over the banisters in the hallway she could see the dark hair of Jessica and ducked down. How was she going to get out now? With a quick look towards the window she remembered of the fairytales her Mum used to tell her. Grabbing a few lengths of rope and tieing them to a sheet or two, Candice lowered them out of the window and then tied them off to the bed post. After spending most of her life climbing trees, shimmying down a rope should be easy.

About halfway down she realized that trees weren't always two stories tall, at least the ones she had climbed. Hanging on to dear life she clung to the rope as her small frame felt the pull of gravity. Frowning slightly, Candice relaxed her grip slightly to inch down some more, she was determined to get out of the house and find a better family... or better yet, her father. She remembered the last letter she had received. It was mailed from Nottingham, maybe that was where he was. Her muscles were beginning to get tired, Candice felt her grip slipping as her hands started to get warmer. With a small shreak she fell, closing her eyes and curling up reflexively. With a soft thud she opened her eyes back up to look at the tangled branches that were woven over her. Turning over to crawl out backwards through the hawthorn bush she sat there, heart beating fast as she stared at the bush. It must have broken my fall... There was no other explanation.

The child noticed a few scratches from crawling out and put her hand on a rather nasty one on her arm. Standing back up she kept her vision on the bush and didn't notice Jessica who had come around the back to find out what the noise was. Noticing Candice get up and hold her arm the babysitter then spotted the sheet-rope and a wave of fear for her charge washed over her. What if she had gotten hurt? Jessica grew slightly pale and rushed over to Candice grabbing at her arms. "What were you doing!?"

Candice yelled and tried to duck out of Jessica's hands. With a jolt she was free and ran a short distance away until something made her look back. Jessica was screaming as if she had seen a ghost, her hands curled up close to her face. With a look of horror towards Candice she ran back inside and frantically called the police.

The NSA got word of the occurance through the police report. After sending someone to check up on the 'ghost-child', they decided it was imperative that she came with them. Telling her mother it was a school for the 'mechanically gifted' Candice was on a new path of discovery.

S.H.R. Agency
Jim was one of those types of bosses that hid away in his office all day and almost anything anyone saw of him was through memos or secretary messages. Even those he supposedly worked closely with generally only saw him on the screen, or heard his voice in an intercom. That was good, though. When he was out, he was usually out hollering and screaming and telling everyone how incompetent they were.

Those that had been around for a long time defended him. Usually when he was yelling and hollering, it was because some bug had lost track of an Evo, and that errily had a tendency to be the exact time they were killed off. Or some new program presented as a whole turned out to have a bug in it that damaged more for him to fix. There was that time that some programmers had played a practical joke on him and it opened up long series of disasters. Database failings, failure to backup materials... Jim demanded perfection from his workers. And why shouldn't he? They were all overpaid geniuses that were a part of a branch that could cost lifes if there was an error.

Jim didn't ask his employees anything he didn't of himself. Actually, he asked more. Jim would often stay late and almost never took his lunch or other breaks. He'd review everything possible, he would take on new projects when no one else would. He had close contact with the other departments, and worked to mantain communication and fix errors when others failed to do so. He worked to perfection at his job, staying late, often at the cost of his family. Everyone knew about a few weeks back when his wife had come and dumped all his stuff at the company door.

And for those few weeks, no one dared blink in Jim's direction. He'd holed himself up even more, and roared at anyone that came near. Only Ace, Jim's 9 year old son, dared to want to go back, and he did so, faithfully, every day after school, and stayed until he convinced Da to leave, whatever time that was. Some early employees reported seeing Jim taking Ace to school the next morning. He was always gentle with his son. Many of the employees waited until after Ace had arrived to speak with Jim, if they needed to.

Ace hadn't yet arrived when Jim stuck his head out of the office. Despite being a computer-desk-jockey, he kept himself in tip-top shape. Jim knew the dangers of his job. He walked in quick, short steps, straight to Joshua McKinley's office, stepping in without knocking.

There, of course, had been warnings. He'd snapped at some janitor, and he'd ordered another employee about some project he was doing. He'd ducked into an adjecent office and roared about a missed deadline on a program report. Cantankerous Captain Jim.

Which was why his sudden lowered voice and next words would be a surprise, "Josh. I know it's a couple minutes early, but how about we head out to lunch?"

The sky must have been falling.

o O (Love it *grins*)

Joshua had had a hectic morning already. A few files had misteriously turned up as missing, and not in the normal way. After searching through the key logs he came up fustrated. It had not been the cause of the usual riff-raff, he had only just gone over the daily firewall checks and viral programs and all were working in tip-top condition. Leaning back in his chair he tried a different approach. If there was one thing I can do, it is hacking. Joshua nodded to himself, formulating his plan. And hacking is the best way to search for files sometimes. Powering up his laptop alongside his main computers, he tapped on the keyboards, starting the necissary programs he would need to get the job done. Within seconds, it had linked up with his main system. Now for the fun part. While his computer was busy, he brought up his 'helper' programs. Everything that he could foresee was up anti-tracing, backdoor locators, etc. His eyes looking from screen to screen, he saw that everything was showing that it was good to go. Extending his arms towards the celing, the hacker streached and wiggled his fingers. This was the bit he loved to do and a smile showed on his face as he rested his fingers on the keyboard. With a click of a mouse he turned on a little egg-timer and subsiquently opened the programs.

Less that two minutes, he was into the systems data base. Hacking into the NSA computer system had risen to an art form for him, especially with the ammount of coding procedures, redundant codes and dead end clauses he had added in. Sometimes however, when the normal means became defunct, the more unusual ways of scanning for a file seemed to work better. His tracer programs beeped as they caugot onto the bots that he had placed to roam the firewall. With a smirk he sent a few clones of himself out to intercept them, they knew the key sequence to freeze the bots without disabeling them. That was the key, get in, leave everything intact, repair during entry. He wasn't really suppost to go in this way but, Joshua chuckled to himself, it was the more interesting way to perform a search. Fingers flying over the keyboard the firewall parted like butter being attacked with a hot knife. The search was ending, he could feel it, he let loose a few more sniffers and came across the missing files. They had been deleted from the main frame in all places but one. It was a data dump, redundant and yet useful in times like these. Carefully he copied them to the main data frame and then wormed his way out, leaving patch up programs and the like to cover and hide his handy work. Looking at the egg timer on his return to the real world he let out a contented sigh. Only 10 minutes had passed, one of his better times in the NSA mainframe. Kicking his feet back and flexing his fingers, Joshua opened the newly collected files and moved them to a safer location. He would find the culprit in another sweep a little later.

It was then the door opened. Joshua reflexively cringed as he saw Captain Jim. Aww crap, he already knows. He had been repremanded about his ways of finding files before and did not want a repeat of what happened last time. Joshua was just about to open his mouth when he heard the fateful:

"Josh. I know it's a couple minutes early, but how about we head out to lunch?"

The quietly spoken question caught Josua by surprise. He closed his mouth with a snap and frowned, rather taken aback for a moment. Hiw mind wirled as he though to himself, Awww crap! This is it, I'm finished! Surly he means to fire me, I mean, Jim was never nice. With a nod he stood up and grabbed his coat from the back of the chair. His baggy jeans clashed with his orange shirt but then fashion had never been his forte. The giant headphones, he unplugged and left on the keyboard but his phone, and other gagits found their ways into his many baggy pockets. With a quick glance around he was ready to go and followed the director out of his office. Well it was nice working here...

Jim raised an eyebrow, "Well, wait a moment. How about telling me why you look like you've just run a marathon first?" He went over to the computers, then shook his head and backed off. He could figure out what the man was up to later. Besides, it was an easy guess, "You know you're not supposed to hack into our computers. I expect at least a memo as to why you had to this time."

He stepped back, opening the door for Joshua to come out first, "Sometimes I think you're our Ghost-Virus." Jim spoke of the Ghost-Virus. He hated it, and had hinted on a number of occasions that he suspected spying and curruption within the system. He'd done all sorts of unfavorable things to try to rid them of it. Josh himself had been found on a couple of extended paid vacation times as he tried to scout out who it was.

But that was it about the computers. Jim even smirked at Josh's reaction, "Of course not." He said, anticipating a negation, and answering it before it came, "Come on. Where would you like to go? My treat."

Jim actually liked Joshua, despite never having made the attempt to get to know him before. That made being friendly easy. He could do that when he decided to. There were even some rumors about him being at a bar with Charles. Of course, he had to at least trust Josh, because he had been the one to make the final decision on the question he was going to snag the man with. And Jim was always careful about the Evos that went through the NSA. But it really needed to wait until they were at least outside of the earshot of all the coworkers.

"I'm not the Ghost-virus, I swear." Scowling slightly Joshua was reminded of the late nights he had had suffered through trying to dig out the offender with no sucsess. The ghost was the reason for all the new bots and protections on the network. He immediatly grinned though, knowing that the 'accusation' was more of a jibe now than having any real meat to it. "I'll send a memo... I was just trying to find some files that seemed to have dropped off the database system." It wasn't the first time it had happened, he hoped it was just carelessness and nothing serious. Joshua wisely kept his mouth shut on that though however, he didn't want to raise suspicions yet.

The question of lunch still bothered him, this was definatly not normal. Trying to cover up his rising apprehension, Joshua thought for a moment. "Well there is that nice chinese noodle shop around the corner." It was a common place to eat for most of the computer guys, though usually they only got take out so they could eat something while hunched over their terminals. "I believe it's is Wonton night, as many as you can eat free with any lunch. Though I guess for me it'd be breakfast." The hacker grinned as he attempted to lighten his mood.

S.H.R. Agency
Jim frowned at Josh's comments, "Too much disappears," he grumbled, "I feel like any time any one of you do something right, it immediately disappears. Or somebody comes up with a new update and it's no longer necessary. Impossible to keep up with this."

Jim snorted, almost literally turning his nose up at Joshua's suggestion, "I say anywhere, and you go with the usual standby? How about Greater China, if that's what you like?" That was a not necessarily nicer Chinese resturant a good 30 minutes away from their workplace.

They headed outside now, and Jim jumped into his car. Of all things, he owned one of those new trucks that could switch to a van.

"Technology is a fast moving field." The programmer chuckled before turning back to make sure his door was closed. Though the offices were usually left unlocked, the door closed was a good way of saying 'Stay Out' as either the occupant was on a private line, not there, or just trying to get at least a little shut eye between assignements. Joshua was one of the team who often spent his nights on the couch, usually just to grab a few hours of sleep when his body decided it had enough. A ratty old pillow with a large fuzzy blanket was a testiment to how many times they were used. With his 'sleeping quarters' now safely secured he added. "So, Greater China? Wow... must be big if you're taking me that far..."

Following Jim his mind turned over speculations. It wasn't about the computer, he was sure about that. Maybe the Ghost-virus was finally making it's mark. Things had been dissapearing at an alarming rate recently and so far Joshua had not been able to pin point it. That was why he had implemented the data dump. Secured in a spot where only a hacker of his level could find it, and even then, only if they knew the way to get there. Those thoughts kept him busy as they hopped in the van and started on their way.
