Rachel sat on the couch at her new home. Her guardian Elvira was sitting next to her. Both of them were currently awaiting the arrival of another pair just like them.
Rachel sighed as she glanced at the clock again before turning back to her guardian. Before she even opened her mouth to ask Elvira let out a groan.
"They'll be here any minute now. Stop bugging me like this." She rolled her eyes and ruffled Rachels hair.
"Elviraaa!" Rachel glared at the guardian before trying to flatten her hair again.
The thing just was that the both of them would be arriving by teleporter and neither of the two currently present knew how that would happen or what kind of effects it would give. So they were just sitting on the couch, waiting.

Late. Again. It was the story of poor Elaine's life nowadays. She groaned as she set her pocketbook on the kitchen counter for the umpteenth time and trumped down to Malcolm's room. Maybe playing the 'nice guy' just wasn't the way to be today.
With a hand on her hip, Elaine knocked sharply on Malcolm's door. "Hey mister - we're going to be l-- we ARE late! Hurry up! Don't you want to see Rachel??" She flung her hands up in the air to make a point, (even though he couldn't see her through the door).
In his room, Malcolm sat on the edge of his bed with a furious look on his face. He was getting ready! Of course he wanted to see Rachel! It wasn't his fault that he kept falling back asleep! Sheesh.
Pulling on his old, battered up skater shoes, he mussed up his hair and flung open his door. "Okay. I'm ready. Happy?" He stared down Elaine for a moment until she rolled her eyes and headed back to the teleporter in the kitchen again.
It hadn't been the first time they'd used the strange device, but it was still....well, strange.
"Ready?" Elaine asked Malcolm.
"Ready," He replied curtly.
"Okay, let's go!"
And with that, the two were on their way in cyber-space towards Rachel and Elvira's apartment.

Rachel bounced slightly, still bored but not yet daring to ask again when the others would get there.
She started humming a song she had heard on television the other day when her attention was suddenly caught by a strange swirling of the air just a bit to the side of her vision. Curiously, she turned to take a better look at it.
Suddenly the swirling air seemed to take on a solid shape for just a moment and then they just stood there. Elaine and Malcolm.
Rachel squeeled loudly before jumping up to greet their guests. "Hiiiii! That was so cool! Come on, lets go play outside!" Rachel smiled brightly and had already grabbed Malcolms arm to drag the poor boy outside.
Elvira watched them go with a slightly exasperated look on her face before grinning sheepishly at Elaine.
"Heh. Sorry, she gets carried away quite easily." She sweatdropped slightly. "How have the two of you been?" Elvira decided smalltalk was probably the best way to soften up the situation before she could get down to some more serious matters and concerns. Especially regarding the agency.

No sooner had Elaine and Malcolm 'got in the door,' so to speak, then the poor boy was pounced on and dragged away. He hadn't even had the chance to say hello before Rachel grabbed his arm and ran outside. Instead, his voice did a strange....I'm-running-and-talking-at-the-same-time-and-can't-breathe-well type of hello, that sounded more like a cat wailing. He managed a small wave to his guardian and Elvira before stumbling out the door.
Elaine smiled and nodded towards Elvira. "Good! We've had some rough spots...and he's been learning a bit slower than the others, but overall - good." She nodded again and then asked with a laugh, "What about you two? Rachel certainly seems like a big ball of energy..." XD

Outside Rachel smiled brightly at Malcolm. "It's so good to see you again! Don't you think the weather is so lovely today? I really want to stay outside all day long but Elvira makes me go inside to do stupid chores-- " she pulled a face, "-- AND to go to school. Tch. I don't like school I'd just rather play outside or just sit in the grass or walk in the forest. Yeah. I really like that butttt what do you want to do?" She smiled again looking expectantly at Malcolm.
((*snicker* Rachel can be such a speechwaterfall.))
Elvira chuckled. "Oh yes, she can be quite.... ah-- energetic. Especially when she's excited. Power progress is all fine and dandy and all that. Just a bit concerned about how she'll handle herself out there when she has to use it against people."
Elvira frowned slightly before smacking herself with one hand in the forehead. "Oh! But where are my manners?! Please do sit down! Would you like anything to drink?"

Malcolm laughed at Rachel's ramblings. He lifted his arms in the air in a big shrug, and proceeded to say, "I have no idea what I want to do!" And with that, he flopped on a square of grass by the sidewalk in a snow-angel shape.
"Ummmmmm. Umm. Uh." He was clueless. The warmth of the sun felt good beating down on his already-tan skin. Malcolm peeled one of his eyes open and glanced at Rachel. "I think the question iiiis, what do YOU want to do?"

Back inside, Elaine shook her head as she plopped down next to Elvira. "No, I'm fine, thanks. Malcolm's just a bit stubborn, and a bit proud...and well, a bit of everything. But he's a good kid." She smiled, wondering what the two were doing outside.
Elaine hoped they wouldn't wander off too far, but she had a feeling they would do whatever they felt like doing at that point in time.
