I'm moving to Wisconsin con Tuesday, so I'll be away from Gaia for awhile.
I'm driving from Pennsylvania, and it is about a 12 hour drive. I've ridden in a car all the way across the US, but I've never had to drive such a long distance on my own. I'm a little concerned about about the whole drive because I really don't know what to expect of it all.
I'm hoping that once I actually start, I'll calm down about it and actually arrive at my destination ahead of schedule.
To make this thread more than a waste of space, I'll open the topic and ask others to express their opinions and experiences about traveling long distances in a car, whether it be moving or for a vacation.

Heck, I can't take 3 hours in a car, unless I'm with my friends. I like those kinds of roadtrips. Usually people will engage in the strangest topics while on the road.

Me and my friends are currenly hashing out the details on road trip were supposed to take next year. For me, the plan is to get a job, save up for a year, then go on the trip, but if they don't get some sort of plan together before the fall and school season starts, and I have what I need to move upstate and start Community college at Oni's old CC, or I cave and go to my local one, then I'm not sure if it's such a good idea to take it...

I've driven from California to Oregon, from Northern California to Southern California, yay Disneyland, California to Mexico. But my favorite place to travel to is Italy, it is where I truly belong.

Last year, I moved from Canberra to Melbourne... it's only a state away but it's still a decent trip. At Christmas my (now) fiance & I drove the 9 hours (including stops) up to Canberra... & then did the same trip back. I kinda cheated & slept most of the way there, as I'd just finished work & it was nighttime & too dark for me to read (we had a book I was going to read to him on the trip up, to keep ourselves amused... unfortunately, this was not possible).
It was also too loud as he insisted on having the window down (his car has no air conditioning) & I was freezing... as it was night!
The trip back home was much better as it was daytime & hot, so we both wanted the windows down. Although I severely hurt my throat from trying to actually talk to him over the noise of the wind & other cars! I lost my voice more than once & gave up trying to read aloud & just read magazines by myself.
We never actually got sick of each other or angry at each other during the trip... we were both just extremely bored....
Next time, I'm making sure he gets the air conditioning fixed before the 2 9-hour car trips! Lol!
