Name: Self Explanatory

Age: This is your character's age.

Gender: Chose M[Male], F[Female], AF[Androgynous Female], or AM[Androgynous Male]. Self explanatory.

Karmic Alignment: Leave this blank. It will be filled out by the crewmember that accepts your profile. Currently 10< and <(-10) are off limits till plot develops. What this stat represents is the good-/bad-ness of your character, and how he/she seems to help/hurt people you meet. Positive is 'good' and negative is 'bad'.

Rank: '[???]-Technique/Power Level' (Example: "[LB]-4")
Everyone starts at [LB]-4. Exemptions will be made when a certain amount of roleplaying skill is shown. Technique/Power Levels are the sub categories of the skills that a bender or fighter/assassin possesses. Bender and Non-Bender ranks will be further explained in later posts.

Tribe/Nation: Fire Nation, Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, or Air Nomads. Shadow Clan citizens cannot be made yet.

Your nation determines your fighting element (excluding the Avatar, of course). The Main Elements, and the Sub Element, of each nation is:

Nation: Main Element, Sub Element#1, Sub Element#2
Air Nomads: Wind, Thunder(no lightning)
Water Tribes: Water, Healing, Ice
Earth Kingdom: Earth(excluding metal), Sand
Fire Nation: Fire, Lightning, Lava/Ash

'Noble wanderers', excluding the Avatar, are not allowed. You are, however, are allowed to make wanderers that originate from a nation.

General Description:
Eye Colour~ Fill this in. Eyes can be different colours. The more detailed the better.
Hair Colour~ Fill this in. Self explanatory.
Skin Colour~ Self Explanatory.
Clothing~ A paragraph of description is the minimum. Detail is always needed.
History/Bio: Two paragraphs minimum. Your character must have a minimum of one event in their life that caused them to be emotionally impacted. The emotional impact, or the 'feelings' and actions of the character, must be included in this section.

Here is an awesome example of a character sheet done by one of our members. It can be found in this thread, and is by [-Tedious-] who is one of our friendly mods on this forum. heart

-Tedious-
Name: Milo Cross
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Karmic Alignment: +4
Rank: [LB]-4 (June 19.06)
Tribe/Nation: Earth Kingdom

Picture
Eye colour~ One is orange and the other is pink.
Hair colour~ Light blonde, hangs just below her shoulder blades, short bangs and often in her face.

She wears white boots with red soles, one boot, on her right is up to her thigh with cloth wrapped around her ankle with dark red ribbon. The left leg's boot is just up to her knees, a bit on the calves. She wears two large braceletes on both arms and a black choker.

History/Bio: Lived in a small village the majority of her life, working along with many others as a farmer's worker. She started working at the age of 7, after her father died. The farm worker was a drunken idiot, and often mistreated her along with the others. She worked very hard and often tricked out of pay, she taught herself how to count at a young age and was taught literature by some other villagers.

When she turned 13, she got a job as a delivery girl. She often had to travel long distances on foot to deliver items to other villages. When she was out deliverying one day, she was attacked by some the mean teenagers in the village. In this moment she discovered her dormant earth bending skills, and accidently killed him. She ran away from the village, and was later exiled from the village aswell. Her original name was Maria Cross, but she later changed it to Milo Cross, she minorly wanted for murder.

Bender Ranks

Almighty Bender [AB] Example(s): None.
When one becomes this level they realize that bending is an art to be protected and that they should teach it properly to anyone, and everyone, they can. There is no physical or technique skills that make this rank different than High Benders. This rank is a level that belongs completely to the class of people that are masters of their mind, therefore giving them the intelligence/ability leagues above High Benders. (Technique Levels: 16-20 )

High Bender [HB] Example(s): Master Iroh, Toph (Pre-Book Two), Master Pakku, Jeong Jeong, Monk Gyatso
At this level the bender has mastered all the basics, all the difficult techniques, and has created and mastered several of their own inventions. (Technique Levels: 12-16 )

Middle Bender [MB] Example(s): Commander Zhao, Zuko (Pre-Book Two), Haru's Father(Tyro)
Mastered all the basics, and is able to preform intense strategies from their bending art. At this level certain benders are able to create elemental familiars and some creative benders can create their own techniques. In Firebending, this level is when someone can learn the ability to send out lightning. (Technique Levels: 8-12 )

Lower Bender [LB] Example(s): Katara(Pre-Book Two)
Profecient bender. Nothing fancy, and without strategy, in most fighting. Most people are in this section of bending. (Technique Levels: 4-8 )

Starting Bender [SB] Example(s): Katara(Before Meeting Aang)
Knows basic kata. Does not know about how the spirit makes you lighter than air (Air Benders), neutral Jin (Earth Benders), breathing (Fire Benders), or regulated body flow (Water Benders). (Technique Levels: 1-4 )

Non-Bender [NB] Example(s): Sokka, Jet, The Warden, Suki
Knows nothing about bending. Usually specializes in weapons, tactics/strategy, research, developement, or public administration. (Technique Levels: 0-0 )

Benders- Technique Levels

((Post in this thread to update your, or your friend's, profile.))

Technique Level -> Bending Skill

_______________________________________________________

Technique Levels In A Nutshell #1
You train to get stronger.

Example: You are now '[SB]-3'. It took 2 posts to get to [SB]-3 from [SB]-2. It now takes 10 posts to reach [SB]-4 from [LB]-3, so you only need to do 10 more training posts to get to [LB]-4.

You, the roleplayer, just need to do training posts to get stronger. Sometimes, though, you will need to go through special conditions to get to a higher rank. An example of needing to pass a special requirement is when a bender goes from [LB]-7 to [MB]-8. When going to [MB]-8 you need to beat three other benders from the three other nations.

_______________________________________________________

Technique Levels In A Nutshell #2

The technique levels in this RPG are divided into five levels, or ranks. These five areas are then divided into four parts, or 'levels', which determines a bender's skill in their art of bending. Technique levels are meant to gauge the strength of a character's bending skill.

When you reach the appropriate 'level' you then upgrade a rank. An example of this is when a Starting Bender reaches the 4th level and is then upgraded to the rank of Lower Bender.

Almighty Benders have technique levels of 16-20.
High Benders have technique levels of 12-16.
Middle Benders have technique levels of 8-12.
Lower Benders have technique levels of 4-8.
Starting Benders have technique levels of 1-4.
None Benders have their own rule set ('Power Level'), and do not posses technique levels.

_______________________________________________________

Level: Bonuses and Requirements:
(The bonuses of each level is listed as the following:)
0: No bending. The character has no bending ability.
1: Bending ability is limited to shifting/moving their chosen element. Unable to do specific moves which require focus. Normal human strength/speed/endurance.
2: Requires bender to have trained for 2 posts to reach this level. Frontal assaults unlocked. Now able to sent element straight towards opponent with more strength. Air benders now able to dodge more effectively. Normal human strength/speed/endurance.
3: Requires bender to have trained for 2 posts to reach this level. Primary defenses of bending styles unlocked. Firebenders can now split incoming flame, water can redirect attacks, earth benders master the horse stance, and air benders are now able to use their staffs to fly. Normal human strength/speed/endurance.
4: Requires bender to have trained for 10 posts to reach this level and has been taught by a teacher. Mastered mental area of bending art allowing for increased bending endurance.
5: Requires bender to have trained for 10 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
6: Requires bender to have trained for 20 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
7: Requires bender to have trained for 30 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance. Water bending skill, 'healing', unlocked for water benders.
8: Requires bender to have trained for 50 posts to reach this level in addition to fighting 3 benders of opposite elements. The character has fought three other benders of all opposite elements and each battle taking more than 15 posts. (Example of fighting every element: An earthbender has fought against an airbender, a firebender, and a waterbender. All of which are totalled at 45 posts when added together, post wise. ) The bender, when fighting these other elements, must be [LB]-7 when they battle their opponents. Their battling posts made previous to [LB]-7 will be counted toward their previous levels, or if the member left those battles to be counted later the posts made will count toward the person's next level. Therefore 45 + 50 = 95 posts is required to go up to [MB]-8 from [LB]-7. At this level Firebenders master breathing and are now able to begin to learn how to use lightning from another RPC of a superior level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
9: Requires bender to have trained for 55 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
10: Requires bender to have trained for 55 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
11: Requires bender to have trained for 55 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
12: Requires bender to have trained for 55 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance. Firebenders have mastered lightning. All benders able to create elemental familiars out of their element.
13: Requires bender to have trained for 55 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
14: Requires bender to have trained for 55 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
15: Requires bender to have trained for 55 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
16: Requires bender to have trained for 200 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
17: Requires bender to have trained for 200 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
18: Requires bender to have trained for 200 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
19: Requires bender to have trained for 900 posts to reach this level. Slightly increased speed/endurance.
20: Currently LOCKED.

What Is 'Training'? (Must Read)

Training is when a limit is being stretched or pushed. An example of this would be mental training, where someone's mind is being pushed to be able to learn and understand more by studying. Also, a more common training, would be the training of the body- where someone would most probably try lifting weights, running laps, doing kata of bending arts, and other physical stressing efforts to increase physical powers. This is a pretty open description of training. Fighting others in combat, even, would be considered training under this description. Heck, if you push it far enough, conversing with people and developing communication skills is training.

Remember, though, a training post requires the user to post more than two sentences. The crew here gives more benefits, too, to people who have posted more than two sentences in their training.

?Training Examples?

Quote:
EXAMPLE #1:

Humbra shifted his left foot, letting it slide against the floor in his wide horse stance. The bender shifted his weight onto his right foot, making his hips and body move to that side. After a moment he was in a new stance which he then changed quickly as he began to twist his arms around himself.

Strands of water began to fly around the boy's arms, thickening and stretching, as his fists clenched and relaxed. Focusing, he began to curve the water around him in the way that he had seen another bender do the previous day.

_______________________________________________________

Quote:
EXAMPLE #2:

Humbra, the Manslayer, slashed forward. His sharp katana cut into the wooden dummy. He stepped backward, releasing his blade from the thick dummy, and slashed at the neck of the object again.

_______________________________________________________

Quote:
EXAMPLE #3:

The man's mind raced. The guard in front of him was not allowing him to enter the city of Omashu, and he had to enter the city before dawn. After thinking for several more moments, Humbra spoke to the guard -hoping that what he was about to say was going to work-. "Sir. I see that you are wearing a wedding ring. I have this marvelous necklace that you could give your wife.."

Humbra brought out a shiny necklace fit for a queen. The guard nodded, took the necklace, and allowed the assassin entry to the massive city.

_______________________________________________________

Those three examples are training. They represent when a a limit is being stretched or pushed. In example 1 it would be the focus of the water bender. In example 2 it would be the slashing strength of the fighter. In example 3 it would be the wits/smarts of the assassin.

These posts would count toward the attainment of higher ranks and higher levels. The crew and I are pretty lenient and will most probably let any posts hinting at the training of a character's emotions/physical/abilities be counted towards the reaching of higher Power/Technique levels.

Special Skills

These skills are skills that not everyone possesses. They are rare beyond belief and are rarely attainable by 'normal folk'. Each of these skills possesses a set of requirements and things in order to be used by a person.

How to attain them:
  • Learn it (RPC to RPC learning only. No NPCs.).
    • Roleplay your character learning the skill. This requires 50 posts of purely specialized training only goes toward the gaining of that specific skill.
    • In addition to this, the training has to be geared to what type of skill it is. An example of this would be the Chi Blocking skill that Ty Lee uses in the series. In the guild this skill will be called a 'Physical Skill' and it requires physical training. This rule also applies to other types of skills.

  • Have it in your biography.
    • This requires you to have an above average character, with an indepth personality, and an interesting history. It also requires you to write out and talk about your character's interesting and intriguing history. (Note: This can only be done when you first submit your character.)

  • Creating the skill
    • By creating a brand new skill you must do the basic 50 post requirement that is called for in the first listed choice (training). In addition to this, though, your character needs to actually create it. This creation phase requires and additional 30 posts. After 80 posts have been made, and your character makes skill that is viewed as usable/realistic, pm Humbra with it. Be sure to include whether it is a Physical Skill, a Mental Skill, or a Spiritual Skill.

Skills

Special Skill #1
[Physical Skill] Paralysis Technique / Chi Blocking:

This fighting style allows the user to block the flow of Chi in their opponent's body. By doing this they also numb their opponent's body, making it harder to move, and almost entirely halts their opponent's just attacked limb from bending.

This technique can only be used on characters 3 levels beneath the user. For example: for a [MB]-8 to use it on someone they'd need to have an opponent that is [LB]-5 or lower. This technique can only paralyse two limbs, at most, in one post.

Special Skill #2
[Physical Skill] Metal Bending

This skill is restricted to Earth Benders and to benders that are either qual to or above [HB]-16. This skill requires the training of 50 posts and an 'enlightening' post that allows the bender to realize that he or she can bend metal.

As the name implies, this skill allows the bender to bend metal.

Special Skill #3
[Physical Skill] Highly Trained Archer

This skill requires the character to be either a part of the Assassin or the Fighter faction. In addition to this the character need to have a minimum power/skill level of '6'. The bonuses of this skill only works when the user is wielding a bow.

'Highly Trained Archer' is a skill that gives the character the accuracy/skill of a level above what he or she currently has. For example, if a character is a [Asn]-6, and has this skill, he/she will have the accuracy of a [Asn]-6

Special Skill #4
[Spiritual Skill] Spirit Sight

This skill allows for people who have been touched by the other realms to see ghosts/spirits. This skill does not, though, allow for the user to go into the other realms or to talk to the spirits.

To submit a skill simply PM the captain, Humbra.

And, if you still need a summary of this whole thread, this is the gist of the ranking system:

Quote:
A middle bender whoops a lower bender's buttox. Higher ranks always beat lower ranks. Unless the lower-ranked bender knows what the hell they are doing, strategy-wise and roleplay-wise.

You train to get to a higher rank.

And, by putting in effort, you get stronger. That's the gist of it. I strongly suggest reading all of this thread for the smaller details.
