OdainsakerIt seemed like it took a while but Odain waltzed her way back to garden. "Neona~! Joy~!" She called as she hummed, "You won't believe what I saw!" She moved pausing when she looked around at all the windchimes already hung up. There was a curious head tilt as she looked around, "Oh wow you guys have been busy!" NeonaNeona looked up from her talk with Joy as she was sitting under the gazebo, "Oh, you've made it back. What did you see dear?" There was a small chuckle, "Well you were gone quite a while. I thought you'd gotten lost by this point and started to wonder if we needed to go looking for you." There was a playful wink towards Joy as she teased the squire. "Weren't you thinking the same Joy darling?"[

"I was about to tell Neona about those Saint Bernards with the little flasks of brandy around their necks. We were going to be stuck trying to figure out where to source a big fluffy dog on short notice," she agreed with playful gravity. The good mood was sincere, but it also served to conceal the thread of anxiety that was in her about Odain's weapon - and what it might mean for Ekstrom's. "I think Neona has news for you too," she added, thinking of the butterfly, "but what did the Code have to say about your weapon?"

Odainsaker"Hm, I don't know where we can source a Saint Bernard, maybe I should look into some sort of dog like that. It'd probably useful if not a Saint Bernard but one trained to search out people or creatures maybe?" Odain was distracted and then paused for a second, she'd totally forgotten about the weapon part of her journey here. At least for a fleet moment because she'd wanted to mention what she'd saw but Joy had brought her back to the main reason for her coming to the wonder today. "OHHH right, right the weapon." She summoned the staff, "Sooo apparently it needed an upgrade or just wasn't right for me anymore?" She gave it a soft twirl being mindful of the flowers and wind chimes she'd noticed had been put up and around. Before tapping the cobble stone with the bo staff. "Isn't it cool!?" The Squire then looked at Neona curiously, "What sort of news do you have for me? By the way you two the Garden looks great and the wind chimes sound really nice." NeonaHer ancestor smiled as Odain seemed excited about the change in the weapon. So the arrows had just been out grown? "Interesting, I guess sometimes these things happen. It does look very nice dear." There was a pause as she looked at the carving on the staff when Odain finally set it still. Neona then looked towards Joy, "Now you said you knew someone else having issues with their weapon? Do you know if they've visited the code since it seems like sometimes these things do happen?" Though it did seem unusual but perhaps present day was a bit more of a fluid situation than it was back when she was living. There was a moment, "Yes, yes there's been a development!" Neona said when she was prompted with the question of what sort of news did she have, "One of the butterflies have come back. If my memory were to correctly serve me; we use to call it Stainwing." She kind of wished there was one now but she was sure there would be more before too long.

Joys relief for Ekstrom on seeing Odain's weapon was so powerful that for a moment she felt almost jubilant, as if she might laugh for no reason. Luckily she was spared the necessity of reacting by Neona sharing her own news, which at least have Joy time to tame her feelings a bit. Surely that meant that Ekstrom, too, would be fine - right? This was just some other little normal wrinkle that didn't show up in any guide book or tutorial, left for them to muddle through.
It was easier to talk about the butterflies. "It was so beautiful," she said. "It was down there -" with a point "- if you want to see if we can find it again. But I'm sure there will be more," she added, unaware that her thoughts ran the same way as the ghost's. "It felt like I crawled along with nothing but a spider and some bees for ages and then it was like - like one day I woke up and birds and rabbits everywhere." A thought struck her: "And maybe your weapon healing is a sign that your Wonder will heal next."
This was a pleasant thought.

OdainsakerOdain beamed, "AHH!! Ohmygosh I saw a butterfly like that on my way back!" She said excitedly, "Do you think it's the same one?" She asked looking curiously at Neona. Maybe there were two? That would be awesome. When Joy said that maybe the wonder would heal next Odain nodded, "I hope so, it maybe slow but it seems like we're on the road to recovery." The squire grinned as looked back to Neona. "Ohhh I hope we get some more bugs and things soon. Which if it's not too early a rabbit or bird could be cool to see too." Odain was wondering what the creatures would look like as they came back. NeonaNeona blinked when Odainsaker started talking really fast. Looking over to Joy confused but it seemed her protege also seen the butterfly. So there was a slow smile and nod. "I do think it's a good sign, that we're getting butterflies back. And the interesting change with the weapon." She seemed to think trying to remember, "I think there's a book that has pictures of what use to live here. I'd have to see if I could locate it again though." She wasn't sure where it was. She looked at Odain, "Did you go to the training ground to practice any?" She wanted to make sure the squire was being fairly dutiful and not goofing off.

Joy perceived that the correct thing for her to do here was to offer herself as training partner. She avoided that. "Might be a good idea to give it a whirl when you have the time," she agreed, neatly suggesting that obviously Odainsaker had no time right now, just in case. "Did it tell you whether this was - a normal sort of thing? I never heard anything like it," she added, by way of explanation, "but I know we never exactly get a how-to guide with any of this."

OdainsakerThe squire glanced to Joy glad she interjected into the conversation and nodded "Yes, I was planning on giving it a whirl after being able to watch some videos online... I'm sure there's good sources of how to wield a staff and show kind of proper form. Maybe some Larpers or actual martial artists...." Odain shook her head sadly, "No, it really didn't say anything just when I got there and sat with the code for a bit, I knew I needed to present the weapon and changed it from the arrows to this. So I'm not sure? Maybe I out grew the weapon?" Of course she sure that wasn't helpful to Joy's friend, "I wish I could've said there was more. We really do need a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. All I really know is you should never leave home without your towel and the answer is 42." Granted, Odain wasn't sure if Joy would get the joke, she knew Neona wouldn't. NeonaThe ghost's eyes narrowed a bit at her protege and she looked confused, "Watch videos?" She asked looking at Joy as if asking either of the two for an explanation. "What are these videos? And how would that help? Is it a person or a training dummy?" Of course Joy implied the pair didn't have time to do such training here. Which made Neona sigh just slightly but she understood that they couldn't spend all their time on the wonder. The response though to the question of it it'd been normal was unfortunately interesting that the code didn't say much of anything. But there was a soft shrug, "Perhaps, things have been lost for too long - had we still been alive, I do believe the knowledge and how to guide would've been passed down instead of -- having to feel things out." Neona said with what sounded like regret in the tone of her voice. "Pity things really had to turn out this way."

Joy did not say what she felt, which was that maybe things didn't have to turn out this way. Instead she said, as stoutly as she could manage: "They could have turned out even worse. And we've lost so much, but we keep finding things again. Like the butterflies," she added. "So we just have to - keep finding the rest too, I suppose. We can do that," she finished, with a certain firmness of voice. "And we will."

OdainsakerOdain listened to Joy's words after Neona lamented that things didn't need to turn out the way they did. "Joy's right!" There was a smile, "Plus I mean while not everyone seems to have ancestors there's those of us who are lucky enough to have one to help too." She seemed to think though and started fighting off a yawn, "Hmm, however I think it's about time for us to go back.... for now." NeonaThe ghost looked at Joy who mentioned things could've turned out worse and nodded softly after a moment, "Tis true I suppose. Things could have always ended up worse." A smile though when the butterflies were mentioned spread across Neona's face, "Oh, that's true. Perhaps the history will come back and be found then." When Odain seemed to fight off a yawn there as a nod, "I understand, hopefully you two can come back and we maybe make an adventure out of finding some other creatures." Neona was hoping more things would come back because it did mean she didn't have to be so alone.
