New Profile
Name: Riker McCann

Nickname: N/A

Gender/Pronoun: He/Him/His

Age: 14 15 16 17

Birthday: February 28th, 2008

Sign: Pisces

Gemstone: Bloodstone

Blood Type: O-

Fav. Food:
  • French Onion Soup (but he has to be careful about the ingredients in it, such as coconut oil or coconut milk).
  • Hearty, savory foods (like pot roast, grilled meats, and sandwiches).
  • Food made specifically for him because someone consciously took his allergy into account when cooking.

    Hated Food:
  • Coconut. He’s severely allergic to it.
  • Overly sweet foods. He’ll eat it to be polite, but wouldn’t be happy about it.
  • Overly complicated plates with tiny portions. He wants to eat food, not art.

School/Occupation: Azure Valley Academy, graduating class of 2026

    Hobbies:

      Training and Athletics
Sports are no longer about résumés or approval. Instead, they’re about capability. Riker still plays baseball (third base by preference) and runs cross country and track, but training has become more deliberate and personal. He wants to be strong enough to protect the people he loves, to endure whatever happens, and to trust his body to respond when he needs it to. Conditioning, strength, and stamina training give him a sense of control and purpose. Physical exhaustion is grounding and helps to quiet the noise in his head.

Video Games (Single Player and Trusted Multiplayer)
Video games remain one of Riker’s few true escapes. He still prefers single-player, story driven games where choices matter and outcomes feel earned. Multiplayer games are no longer off-limits, but only with people he trusts. With friends, competition becomes playful rather than performative. He’s competitive, sure, but not showy. He doesn’t need to prove anything. Games are a space where he can exist without being watched or judged.

      Yard Work and Physical Contribution
Riker spends a lot of time helping around the yard — mowing, trimming, hauling debris, clearing weeds, maintaining equipment — anything that needs doing. Zac has shown him how to safely use the yard tools, and Riker took to it immediately. There’s satisfaction in clear results. A cut lawn, a stacked pile of wood, a space made usable again, a garden for new growth. He doesn’t talk much while he works, and rarely asks if help is needed — he just notices and steps in. Part of him still wants to prove he’s useful, that he earned his place there, but there’s something genuinely cathartic about the tasks. And contributing to Zac and Evan’s home makes the space feel more like his too.

    Virtues:

      Decisive
Riker does not freeze in a crisis. He acts. Chooses. Moves forward even when the path isn’t clear or clean or guaranteed. He’s strong-willed, determined, and willing to bear consequences rather than hesitate and lose out on what could have been accomplished. Where he falters is not from danger, but from introspection. When the decision involves his own worth, he can stall, second guessing himself in ways he never would for others.

      Firecely Protective
His friends are everything. Riker may still be awkward around tears and emotional vulnerability, but he will defend the people he loves without hesitation — verbally, physically, and magically if necessary. Protection is how he expresses care. Especially as Reims, this instinct becomes practically absolute: he is willing to put himself between danger and others without considering the cost.

      Attentive and Vigilant
Riker no longer watches the room to form an image for others to see, but he still watches. He notices who’s uncomfortable, who’s quiet, who’s being cornered. His vigilance has shifted from self-promotion to more of a threat assessment. He keeps track of people’s boundaries, moods, and behaviors, especially when something feels off. This attentiveness means he has an early-warning system for himself, even if he doesn’t always explain what he’s noticed to others.

    Flaws:

      Combative
Riker has a sharp tongue and even shorter fuse than he’d like to admit. He antagonizes opponents instinctively, using snark and provocation as both a weapon and a shield. While this can be effective in combat or intimidation, it also escalates situations unnecessarily. He doesn’t pick fights to look cool anymore, instead it’s simply how his anger and instincts are expressed.

      Defiant
Authority is conditional in Riker’s individual world. Adults and leaders he respects get his loyalty without question, but those he doesn’t trust are met with resistance, mockery, or open defiance. He bristles when pressed for personal information and shuts down when boundaries are pushed. His defiance is less about rebellion now and more about self-preservation.

      Self-Sacrificial to a Fault
Riker does not believe he deserves forgiveness, but he believes others deserve safety. This leads him to take on blame, punishment, or risk far beyond what’s reasonable. He will put himself in harm’s way not out of heroism, but penance. He’s trying to earn redemption through action, even when no one is demanding it of him. This makes him reliable… but also dangerously willing to suffer in silence.

  • Old Profile
Name: Riker Starmount McCann (IC it's still Starmount until the new school year starts in Fall 2025)

    Nickname: N/A

    Gender/Pronoun: He/Him/His

    Age: 14 15 16 17

    Birthday: February 28th, 2008

    Sign: Pisces

    Gemstone: Bloodstone

    Blood Type: O-

Fav. Food: French Onion Soup, but has to be careful about the ingredients in it, such as coconut oil or coconut milk.

Hated Food: Coconut. He’s allergic to it.

    School/Occupation: Azure Valley Academy

    Hobbies:

Sports - Riker plays a variety of sports, partially for enjoyment, and partially for the social benefits involved. Extracurricular activities look good on a résumé, and they’re socially acceptable leisure activities for the kind of people who don’t care about résumés. He plays baseball in the spring and summer, usually at third base, but he can switch to first when necessary, and he runs cross country in the fall and winter. Riker also likes swimming as a form of exercise, but doesn’t compete.

Video Games - One might think, based on his behavior in other areas of his life, that Riker would enjoy multiplayer games for the sole purpose of harassing other people online, but while he can occasionally be roped into them by his friends, classmates, or other acquaintances, he tends to stick with single player options, particularly roleplaying games. Video games are his one escape, a way for him to take a break from the need to please and impress other people, and seek refuge from their judgment.

    Virtues:

Decisive - Riker likes to think he knows what needs to be done, and he isn’t afraid to do it. He’s ready to make decisions and take the lead, whether or not he’s particularly good at either of those things. Riker is strong-willed and determined, with a toughness and endurance that seems unshakable. He rarely hesitates, and perseveres even in the face of hardship. Some might think him courageous, but the truth is that Riker would rather face the consequences of his actions than miss out by wavering.

Protective - He may seem self-involved to those who make no effort to dig beneath the image he projects, but Riker cares deeply about the thoughts and opinions of others, and the safety of the people who are important to him. He will defend his friends against criticism or critique, and protect them in the face of danger. Riker might not be the best shoulder to cry on (crying in all its forms makes Riker uncomfortable), but he’ll tackle whatever problems his friends might have without so much as being asked. It’s how he shows his love.

Vigilant - Projecting an image means being aware of his surroundings and the people who inhabit them. It means understanding how others think, what they feel, and how they’re likely to respond. Riker is watchful and attentive, a quality he’s developed after years of caring a bit too much about pleasing the right wrong people. He is observant, always on the lookout for any opportunity to promote himself or safeguard the interests of those he cares for. Being vigilant leads to greater odds of success, and the praise and acceptance he craves.

    Flaws:

Combative - Riker always seems to be looking for a fight, whether it’s kids at school who don’t meet the standards of the people he’s desperate to impress, or random strangers out in public who might say or do something he considers wrong. He thinks antagonism and aggressiveness make him cool, because it’s what he was taught by the people he looks up to. He generally knows where to draw the line to avoid getting into trouble, but he has been known to take things too far on occasion. He hasn’t always come out of his encounters unscathed, and can unintentionally draw his friends into things they’d be best left out of.

Defiant - Riker has a problem with figures of authority, particularly figures of authority he doesn’t agree with. The ones he likes and respects receive no spitefulness and minimal opposition from him, but the people he doesn’t like? The ones he takes issue with? Riker will respond with belligerence, resentment, and clear refusal. He shows an open disregard and undeniable contempt for anyone who puts him into a position he doesn’t want to be in, especially those whose questions and comments hit a little too close to home. Try to dig beneath the image he projects, and Riker will defy, deny, and put up walls to protect himself.

Sycophantic - Though he doesn’t often seem to care what other people think of him, Riker does want to be liked and accepted by certain people. A lot of his behavior stems from his need to impress others who act like him, whose lives and circumstances mirror his own. He does what he does and says what he says because someone somewhere might think highly of him for doing and saying it. His need to fit in with a certain crowd has caused him to push others away, even people who might be better for him in the long run.
