Name: Madeline Laurel McCaffrey
Nickname: Mads, Madi (Mason only); Thing 1 (derogatory)
Gender/Pronoun: She/Her
Age: 17
Birthday: October 21, 2007 Sign: Libra
Gemstone: Opal
Blood Type: O-
Fav. Food: She tells people it’s tofu pad tai, but really it’s chocolate cake. Or chocolate-covered strawberries. It’s chocolate. And, yes, she is also lactose intolerant and yes, she lusts after all things dairy, but unlike some twins she knows, she has self-control! (But she keeps lactaid on hand for Mason, who does not.)
Hated Food: Pork rinds, and those jerky sticks they sell at gas stations
School/Occupation: Graduating Meadowview High to attend DCU in the fall, after starting sophomore year a year early due to being homeschooled.
Hobbies:
– Journaling: Madeline has a lot of feelings, and not a lot of places to put them, so into the book it goes. She’s a life-long journaler, and has taken to bullet journaling with gusto. She probably has a whole bookshelf full of completed journals, not to mention the one that is constantly progress. She also loves scrapbooking, and has themed scrapbooks for holidays or birthdays or life events, as well as a bigger scrapbook documenting her & Mason's entire lives.
– Cooking & Baking: Initially, Madeline developed skill in the kitchen out of pure survival - the tutors and babysitters that her parents hired to keep them alive were not usually well-trained enough to make full meals, and there’s only so many bags of popcorn Madeline could eat. And anyway, the babysitters stopped coming around eventually, so someone had to keep herself and her brother alive. Somewhere along the way, it went from necessity to hobby to passion, and Madeline prides herself on her ability in the kitchen. She tends to prefer cooking to baking, but when she’s feeling pensive, the science of baking soothes her mind. She cooks vegetarian when she can, but knows her way around the most common types of meat, since Mason doesn’t share her taste and frequently claims that if he doesn’t get enough protein, he’ll die, or something.
– Cleaning: No, really. Madeline likes to clean. She finds it therapeutic, calming, and helpful with grounding herself in times of chaos. In spite of being two teenagers living alone in a big old house, the place is not a pigsty; on the contrary, Madeline keeps the McCaffrey house s**c and span.
Virtues:
– Organized: Madeline’s mind palace is full of files. She has mental tabs on projects she hasn’t touched in years and people she hasn’t seen in almost as long. Madeline knows where everything is, in her life, in her house, in Mason’s life. She has their collective life–and their collective future–planned down to the minute, and she really hates it when things get off-track. This, in addition to her love of cooking, was also born out of necessity: someone had to keep herself and her brother from drowning, and it might as well be her. As such, she holds on very tightly, as she’s never had a chance to really let go.
– Focused: When Madeline has a goal in mind - a personal goal, an academic goal, or later on a professional goal - nothing will get between her and success. This can sometimes be…problematic, to her personal relationships, if she feels those around her aren’t pulling their weight or contributing appropriately, but mostly, it’s herself (and Mason) she pushes forward so relentlessly. Everyone else can get on board or get out of the way (and most of them do not get on board, if her utterly empty social calendar is to be believed).
– Supportive: The thing that keeps Madeline from being absolutely unbearably self-centered is her heart. When she feels it’s a cause or a person who is worthy of her time and attention, Madeline is absolutely willing to use her considerable mental powers - that relentless determination to succeed - for the good of others or the good of a worthy organization. Underneath it all, she just wants to help, and she believes that she knows the best ways to help in…pretty much every situation.
Flaws:
– Controlling: When Madeline believes she knows what’s best, when’s best, and why best, she can get a little nutty about everything going exactly according to plan. She has yet to realize that not everything can be controlled, so gosh dang it, she sure is going to try!
– Obsessive: The dark side of focus is obsession. Madeline tends toward anxiety, which means that she tends to get stuck in brain loops, especially on things she worries about (which is…a lot of things, don’t tell Mason). It’s not always a bad thing; she’s been called obsessive about getting herself and her brother into college, for instance, but at times her intense focus does border up on mania that won’t rest, even when Madeline herself absolutely should.
– Socially Inept: Although she would never admit it, Madeline doesn’t actually want Mason to be her only friend. It’s important that they stay close, obviously - they’re twins, after all - but deep in her heart, Madeline is longing for other connections. She is especially desperate for female friends; she’s always had a hard time connecting with other girls, not least because she feels like they’re not really interested in friendship with her, but just as a way to get to her brother (not that any of them are worthy of him, anyway). Whether this is true or not is up for interpretation, but it’s certainly true in Madeline’s mind, so she doesn’t give herself the chance to be proven wrong. Gender aside, Madeline’s loneliness bumps against her distrust, so it’s extremely difficult for her to overcome these issues and just be normal around other people.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Slightly rounder almond-shaped eyes; same green-blue-gray-hazel as Mason.
Hair: Madeline straightens her hair from its naturally wavy form and wears either a ponytail or a braid in her day to day life, just to keep it out of her face and out of her way.
Face: Madeline’s face is slightly rounder and more delicate than Mason’s, but they have the same freckles and the same somewhat angular chin, as well as the same highly-expressive eyebrows.
Skin Tone: #f6dbd2. She's pale. Pale pale pale pale. She's not paper-white, but she's Irish, so...Madeline keeps many, many bottles of sunscreen on hand.
Body Type: Petite, slightly curvy. Mason got all the height :C
Clothes: Sundresses, cottagecore; all very well-fitting, but not overly tight or revealing. When at home, she’s a big fan of sweatpants. When she's trying to #twin with Mason, she doesn't mind leaning into his mostly-black aesthetic, so long as there's some pop of color (or glitter).

Senshi: Sif, Sailor of Focus Uniform Color: Basically, I would love if you could use the Earth Knight palette for her uniform (with one tiny touch of red, linked below). Also, glitter. Main Color: Dark, spacey purple Secondary Color: Golden-yellow Uniform: We’re going for Celtic/Norse vibes as much as possible. Think mythological valkyries meets Brave meets my dream renaissance faire dress-up. I am exceptionally terrible at describing clothes, so I absolutely trust your judgement. I can dig up reference pictures if you need! Tiara Celtic weave. Choker -- Choker, also Celtic weave. Collar -- CC! Bodice -- Probably something more in the tunic family than skin-tight or super revealing? But. Again. Terrible at clothes. I trust you to make it work. Chest Bow -- CC! Brooch -- Eventually (whether a variant in the first stage that then leads up to this or not is up to you) I would love it if the brooch could be shaped like this. It doesn’t have to be in red, but I wouldn’t mind if it was! Sleeves -- CC! Gloves -- I would absolutely love fingerless gloves. Buttbow -- CC! Bottoms -- Honestly anything but a miniskirt/super-short skirt would be fine. We love a high-low skirt, but that’s less important than the whole thing Vibing together, so…basically up to you. She also would be super pleased about pants (because a skirt is simply not practical in every situation). Shoes -- Please. I beg of you. Give her sensible shoes. She will be So Mad if she has to worry about breaking a heel every time she transforms (magic or not, she Will be worried about it). Maybe not sneakers-level sensible, but like. A pair of boots would be so, so, SO appreciated. Accessories -- Whatever feels right! The more you can make it a lil matchy with Mason’s knight gear, the happier I will be. Attacks: Sailor Scout Attack: Clouded Focus! Sailor Sif throws a handful of magical glitter at one enemy within 10 feet. The glitter deflects the focus on the enemy’s next attack, causing it to go wild and miss their next attack, so long as the enemy attempts to attack within 30 seconds, after which point the glitter wears off. Sif may use this ability three times per powerup. Super Sailor Scout Attack: Pull Focus! Sailor Sif throws two handfuls of magical glitter at up to two enemies within 12 feet. On a magical level, the glitter refocuses the enemy’s next attack, causing it to either hit a different target or go wild and miss entirely (players choice). The glitter also physically affects the target, impacting one of the target’s five senses: touch (numbness or painful itching), sight (blurry vision or painful headache), smell (nauseating scent or painful bloody nose), taste (coated tongue or slurred speech), or hearing (clogged or painfully ringing ears) - these are examples, and it is ultimately up to the player how, and how much, a character is physically impacted, but whatever the player chooses, it should make the character have physical or emotional difficulty focusing on what’s going on around them. The glitter impacts only one sense at a time, the effect lasts for only 30 seconds, and results in minor injury at the absolute max - truly more on the level of minor annoyance/distraction than actual injuries. The glitter itself only remains on the character’s clothes/body/hair until the next time Sif uses an ability, or powers down. Sif may use this attack two times per powerup. Eternal Sailor Attack: Laser Focus! Sailor Sif turns the full force of her own focus on causing harm to her enemies. She takes a handful of glitter in each hand and claps her hands together. From the tips of her fingers, a bright, glittery light appears and blasts all enemies within 15 feet. This does moderate physical damage (bludgeoning or force, in dnd-speak), and forces those enemies to focus their next attack on themself or their nearest ally (players choice). The glitter itself only remains on the character’s clothes/body/hair until the next time Sif uses an ability, or powers down.
