It was a very nice morning.
Winston was an awkward, inexperienced mess, sure, but Lianhua had still gotten a very good time out of him. And in the morning, with rays of sunlight filtering throguh her kitchen windows, she felt good.
She'd thrown on a robe over a short little sleepdress, and she stood in the kitchen, preparing a plate of jian bing. She expected the smell would lure Winston down eventually, and honestly? He was the type of hookup she wanted to have breakfast with the next day. And that was one of the highest compliments she could give.

Winston slowly woke to the smell of... something delicious cooking. It smelled... Hmm, he wasn't sure, but... Oh. Right. His eyes cracked open to examine his surroundings. He'd stayed with a girl last night. He'd—a blush rose to his face before he could think about it, covering his face with the gorgeous gray, flowery comforter that he'd slept under last night. Despite having once lived in similar luxury on Achird, Winston didn't think he'd ever had a better night's sleep. Was sex really just that good? He'd enjoyed himself last night quite a bit... That did explain a lot, really. He stretched and stood, stopping awkwardly as he realized... Right. He'd have to wear last night's clothes. At the very least, he pulled his boxers on and snapped his slacks out so they wouldn't be too wrinkled. At least his shirt had been folded. Lianhua had convinced him not to worry about his clothes, something he was regretting right now. Yet putting his shirt on immediately didn't feel right, either. Gods, he felt stupid. How did one handle these things? Lianhua was clearly making breakfast by the smell of it. She expected his company! But going to breakfast the morning after dressed all formally seemed a faux pas... Sighing, he went and washed his face. Maybe the cold water would help him feel better, provide clarity. It did. He decided on leaving his slacks unbuttoned—he was covered, and now, despite the business casual nature of slacks, he looked quite... casual. Right? By the meadows. He forced himself down the stairs two at a time so he could stop thinking about it. "Good morning," he said, voice rough from sleep. "What are you making?"

Ah. There it was. The sound of footsteps down the stairs, from the bedroom level to the open kitchen/living/dining area. At least the stairs would put him out right by the island, and honestly, his timing was perfect. She slid the jian bing out of the pan and onto a plate, turning around and setting it on the kitchen island.
"Good morning," she said, brightly, and she gestured at the plate. "Breakfast. They're called jian bing, and I made them vegetarian because I realized I don't actually know if you eat meat? There's eggs, though." Probably best to make all the disclosures. She picked up an already-finished one and came around the island, sitting down next to where she'd placed Winston's plate.
"Are you feeling alright?" Hopefully he'd slept as well as it had seemed, since he'd been pretty conked out when she headed to the kitchen to start cooking.
Honestly, seeing him in the morning made him seem even more endearing. He looked a little lost and unsure, and it made her want to shower him in kisses. But maybe breakfast first.

Winston's ears relaxed at her cheery attitude—then he'd read the situation correctly. Good. He came to stand by the plate she presented to him with a soft smile, leaning on the island's countertop and poking at the jian bing curiously. "Vegetarian is good, eggs are fine, and meat is okay when it's not, uh..." He scrunched his nose in thought. "I believe for the most part it's white meat I can have, but red meat is.... Well. But that's broadly speaking, as I've not done enough research into how food is categorized and the kinds of meat I can have. I've stuck to mostly vegetarian and some fish and chicken out of safety." He finally slid onto the seat next to her and took a bite, making a pleased sound as the taste flooded his mouth. "I'm wonderful," he said in awe. "This is delicious."

Lianhua nodded. "If you stay over again, I can make it with chicken or salmon," she said. "Or we can try something else. My brother is a trashcan in the kitchen, but I am not." She clicked her chopsticks together, briefly, and then moved them to pull off a piece of her crepe and take a bite.
"So no beef...what about pork? That one's sort of in between, and I can make an amazing pork belly bun, but I don't want to make you sick."
Not when they were trying to have good experiences here, and she wanted him to come back.
And, honestly? She perked up when he clearly enjoyed her food, radiating a blatant pleased energy.
"I'm glad you like it," she said. "If you're hungry after you finish that, I'll make you another."

Stay over again. The words echoed in his brain, making his ears ring with the force of it. Yes, there was an "if" there, but she was talking about making food that he could eat, wanting to make sure she didn't make him sick, and the idea that she wanted to see him again, wanted to know that she cared about his health, that— That this one young woman, who saw him, desired him, and could have tossed him aside after a single night, wanted more from him? After his green performance last night? "I've been hesitant to try pork," he admitted. "But... With how great your cooking is, I wouldn't mind trying it out. If I don't have to be somewhere immediately after eating, of course, just in case it doesn't agree with me." He really hoped it would agree with him. It would be just awful if he got sick because of something he wasn't really meant to eat. But he quite wanted to try it. It seemed like it must be important, the way she spoke of it. Almost tenderly. "I do usually eat a lot," he explained as he took another bite, eyes rolling back a little with the wonderful tastes hitting his tongue. "But it would be uncouth of me to beg for more so soon." More food? More sex? Both?

"You're sweet," she said, brightly. "Hopefully it'll agree with you. But we can wait a little while on that." At least it was a promise to come back again. That, she could be very happy with.
"...You said your roommate might not be expecting you back," Lianhua idly pointed out, "and I don't have any plans today. You know, if you wanted to stay."
Absolute insanity, to invite a guy she barely knew to spend the day with her. But whatever. There was literal magic involved. The apocalypse had almost happened the night before. If she wanted to do something stupid, she thought that she got to.
