[set on the same night as stormbreaker: at world's end]
London had expected that he was going to have a pretty ordinary night. Sure, the weather was weird, but growing up in Destiny City meant that you accepted weirdness in all its many, varied colors.
And getting random texts from Berlin was the sort of weirdness he'd accepted into his personal life, anyway. He hadn't meant to make friends, exactly, but Berlin had sort of decided that for him, and London didn't have the heart to tell him to ******** off.
Also, the trans flag bento box was cute.
Tonight was queued up for a stupid Skyrim run (Can I beat Skyrim with only Trollsbane because stupid weapon-restricted runs were a good time, and he didn't want to do something serious in such bad weather where he might lose progress if his power went out). So far, so good, even if the storm outside was rattling pretty hard.

Helping Berlin figure something out sounded like a good way to spend a day and also get to flex a little.
The selfie was. Cute. But London wasn't about to pause stream to take one, so he'd just have to send something back later.

send me your fic, i'll look it over
Honestly, betaing Berlin's fics was...an experience, every time, but London liked his writing.
But he turned his attention to stream, and let his phone sit for the rest of it.
Right until he was cut off by the power going out.
"Son of a--" He reached for his phone to shed a quick message to his Discord, and noticed as he did that his last message to Berlin was hanging unread.
Oh.
That felt...strange.

hey, are you okay?
not to be all mother hen or whatever
but you don't usually just stop texting out of the blue

Maybe it was weird of him to be so attached. Maybe Berlin was just busy. But London had a bad feeling, and if he was being weird, Berlin would just tell him off, or whatever. Probably.
