“This is absolutely fantastic!” Indra exclaimed with delight. The smile upon his face stretched from ear to ear, sheer joy apparent in his gleaming features. He had never seen such a stretch of water before. Yes, he had seen rivers and oceans, but never had he bore witness to what he now saw. When winter gave way to spring, the ice that had covered the land melted, broadening existing waterways and creating others. That is not all it did, however. The excess water that flowed also ended up extending certain waterways. One of which happened to be a little cove which he and his mate had laid claim to as home.

The cove was small, but it suited them well, providing everything needed. It was fed by the ocean that lay to the east and expanded inward in a northerly direction. This provided Indra with the ability to enjoy the deeper waters of the ocean while also allowing his mate to do the same with shallower waters. Another cove lay to the west though the two coves had never intersected. Too much land seemed to separate the two, preventing Indra from exploring the second body of water. Only his mate had been able to explore the other cove…Until now that is. Now the icy waters had granted the pair a new opportunity- an opportunity to see it together. Water poured over the land, stretching from one cove to the other, connecting them and creating a stream deep enough for Indra to pass through as he pleased.

There was no doubt. Winter may have been a bit…difficult due to the cold, but this new estuary more than made up for the trouble. He and Varuna had new areas to explore and, who knew, maybe expand their home territory a bit more! “What say we have a little race?!” The Seathi shouted over at his mate with a mischievous gleam. His tail flicked some water at the larger stallion. Without waiting for a response, he jumped into the air then darted away, following the course of the new stream.
