Senshi: Brangäne, Deep Space Senshi of Duty
Attacks:
Sailor Scout Attack: What is Needful
A chosen enemy in a ten foot radius of Brangäne experience a sensation of intense pain when she points at them as though they are crumbling under the weight of their duties. Emotionally, targets may feel as though they are not meeting expectations and are failing their obligations and may become obsessed with criticizing their own personal failures; physically, this will manifest as extreme symptoms of stress (such as hot flashes that may feel like their skin is being scourged, heart palpitations, migraines, etc.). To resist the pain and continue focusing requires active willpower. This magic lasts for 25 seconds and has three uses per battle. A more subtle pain may linger afterwards if the other player chooses to have it do so.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Crushing Burdens
As she closes her fist, all enemies in a 10 foot radius of Brangäne are subjected to a sensation of crushing and suffocating pressure, as though they are crumbling under the weight of their duties. Emotionally, targets may feel as though they are not meeting expectations and are failing their obligations and may become obsessed with criticizing their own personal failures; physically, this will manifest as extreme symptoms of stress (such as hot flashes that may feel like their skin is being scourged, chest pain, migraines, extreme shortness of breath, etc.). The pressure may also make it difficult to move or focus. Residual shortness of breath may linger if the other player chooses to have it do so. This magic lasts for 30 seconds and has two uses per battle.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Noblesse Oblige
By extending a hand towards a single target in a 15 foot radius, Brangäne can summon a cool, pleasantly-fragranced breeze. A pleasantly sleepy sensation descends on the target, bringing a calm feeling of peace and security as though they are being rewarded for accomplishing their duties and can reap the rewards as their body begins to heal itself. This magic heals minor and moderate wounds and slows ongoing damage from burns, bleeding, or similar injuries. This magic lasts for 45 seconds and has one use per battle. Notably, this causes Brangäne to feel somewhat tired herself when it has been exhausted.
Deep Space Senshi:
Physical Features: For the most part just slightly less human. Has an unnaturally high forehead with two blue markings from the eyebrow area, as well as a small metallic/pearlescent bump at the center of the hairline. Eyes are a metallic/reflective white iris in a greyish sclera. Has long thin sensory antennae from the temples, used to sense certain natural phenomena on her homeworld and entirely useless on earth. These can be mistaken for hair and if necessary bound up with her hair, although this is somewhat uncomfortable. Skin is more greyish and more translucent-looking, with veins visible through the surface. Palms and soles of feet are also greyish blue.
Backstory/History:
Her culture prizes "found families" and intentionally-created social bonds very strongly over those you are born into, and her found family was among the people of Earth. This was spurred by an early encounter with an Earth-born mentor and by the realization that her inclination for a pragmatic view of violence as a means to peace found a better fit on Earth than back home. Finding ready active work there cemented her fondness for the blue marble. While she traveled a great deal and often returned to her home, she always found a way back to Earth, working alongside knights and senshi there as well as (when she could get away with it) human soldiers. She is simultaneously delighted and dismayed to find herself back there, and will be disturbed to learn of its collapse.
The introduction of interstellar travel was disastrous for her people, whose numbers dwindled sharply due to their cultural value for striking out into new communities. By the time s**t hit the fan, there was only a struggling remnant of population on her homeworld, and a social movement rising in backlash to values of dispersion. She found herself isolated and alienated there even before the Chaos came - and it came swiftly and effectively to the already-compromised planet, manifesting first as a sense of strange insomnia among some of its inhabitants before spreading, first in the form of feverish disease and then general decay.
Her people can become sleepy/sluggish for very long periods of time on their homeworld, entering a sort of quasi-hibernation that distorts the passage of time and is often used to endure lengthy hardships. She has been in this state for long enough that it has had an effect on her mannerisms permanently, making her seem a bit languid unless she is alert for battle, and complicating her fragmented memory by also causing her constant confusion as to what is a memory and what is something she merely vividly dreamed. Her recollections have become hopelessly scrambled past the point of retrieval, save for some clear scraps of her early days on Earth, before things began to go south - and the isolation she felt on her own planet before the Chaos came.
As the ability to enter this hibernation state is dependent on strict environmental factors, it is not something she can do on Earth - and the Chaos has made it at last inaccessible even on her own world, awakening her to the full horrors of her situation. She is going to develop a mean caffeine addiction.
She feels duty-bound to attempt to rescue her planet from its Chaos, and her strong sense of obligation will cause her to pursue this, but her personal feelings are extremely compartmentalized and less invested in reviving a dead world than in what she can do for a living one.
