Cold Snap Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7 As the year comes to an end, an abnormal cold snap has taken over Tendaji. The mountains of Zena are covered in a blizzard, and even the desert of Oba is feeling a bit of an abnormal chill. [ What do you get up to during the cold? Do you find a place to warm up, or check up on a friend? ]

Ai'iandaroch 1 A brisk wind blew past them in their travels and his feelers twitched. "Uh oh, that feels awfully cold, even for here." They were on a routine trip to gather much needed supplies from a much larger town that had better prices and bulk options. Only the best for their family. "I think this is going to turn nasty quickly Myr. How far is that old hunting cabin that is used for people in just such situations?" He had told her he had found his son while they were in Matori, she had not taken it as well as he would have liked but she as always was a spit fire while he and Saras were more level headed. Rydan took after his mother to an extent with a touch of Ai's coolness. Just as he spoke the snow began to fall as if summoned. "This is not going to be good. But if we make it to the cabin we can hole up until it passes." Blizzards were a common hazard though it had been downright balmy yesterday for this time of year. The weather was changing and there was nothing they could do about it but endure and survive. The cabins were designed for this with food that could be rehydrated, firewood and all they would need to spend a comfortable night.

Myridia 1 She sighed as she felt the unusual uptick in the air. "Yeah, its just ahead." she pointed to the side path as she led them down. "We should look into a beast or two for trips like these." she chuckled as she started down the side path. She was still mentally reeling from learning their son was alive. For years she convinced herself that someone had broken in and dragged him out. Nope. He just...came home...didn't find a note and just left. Idiot. His sister needed a doctor, but there wasn't one who could look at her for miles. She was still upset with him. Now she learns he has children...grandchildren...while she knew her Fathers would be overjoyed...they mourned the loss of their grandson. She huffed. No use thinking about that now. "Once we get there, we'll have to be quick..." she hummed as they saw it on the horizon. "Build up a fire and make sure we have enough to last."

Ai'iandaroch 2 "Honestly being stuck in a cabin with you for a night or two doesn't sound bad. Might be a nice vacation. The tavern was great and he made everything metal for it but sometimes it was nice to spend time with Myrida just the two of them. Sarasnata was still delicate but a bit better than she had been and during that time she had been their number one priority. But now..maybe, just maybe they could again focus on each other and their bond that had withstood so much and was still going strong. He loved this tiny fiery woman with every breath he took every blow of his smith hammer and loved to watch Saras as she reminded him so much of her. "What would you like as a mount, our anniversary is coming up and I would like to gift you one, might be a good excuse to visit that Matori ranch later and maybe we could take a small vacation there on the warm beach, and Saras could visit her new friend, the author guy. I still can't believe she managed to meet him the guy that wrote that book you both love."

Myridia 2 She smiled up at him. "It will be nice." Once they got inside she made the rounds to ensure that there was supplies. She nodded seeing that the last hunter made sure this place was still stocked. "We'll have to restock whatever we take that isn't perishable. Might mean a second trip out here after we leave a note." She hummed as she got a fire started up. "We can make a stew...we can make tea. There's tea leaves here at least and the water is always stocked." She chuckled as she settled in the chair. "Mmmm, A mount...oh for sure we need...something big. That can also help with hauling supplies."

Alright, the atmosphere was just too perfect, he couldn't take it anymore. "Yeah, I don't think coming back here with more supplies later would be a bad idea, we might stay another night or two then, I can uh, think of things we can do to keep warm." He smirked and snuggled up behind her, holding her close in a hug and kissing her hair. "Once its warmed up in here it will be a paradise for me stuck without distractions together..again...alone. Just us and the crackling fire." He swung a hand out as if measuring the horizon. "Our daughter is safe and we are sure to get her even more on the mend soon enough. We can enjoy ourselves once again. And I must say." He buried his face in her hair playfully. "It has been more than long enough Myr my love." Or they could read by the fire that was always an option but he knew which one he preferred. He loved this woman so much and they had been stressed with their kids' health for so long but there were small improvements and slowly she was getting better, and was out of immediate danger. He inhaled. How she still smelled of flowers in winter he wished he knew.

Myridia smiled as she felt her husband hold her from behind. That was always a major comfort for her. She nodded. "Yes, a small vacation from the Inns will be amazing. We can put out signs down the road that there's someone here. Right now we're assured because its not Hunting Season and the blizzard is so heavy." She hummed. "Us and the crackling fire..." she loved that thought. "We should take her to the last resort healer in the Aishan Hybrid Village." she shuddered. She didn't want her daughter anywhere near that clan. Now she had no choice. It was the last ditch effort she could think of. She just rested against her husband. "So...you've spoken with Rydandaroch?" There was a note of bitterness to her tone. She loved her son, but it was hard to swallow when she heard Sarasnata's stammering report of his whereabouts. She thought one of her enemies from her past came back to harm him. Turns out...he left. She inhaled softly. All those grandchildren and great-grandchildren who didn't know her, or perhaps knew her as the Mother who abandoned her son. That steamed her. The idea that her son turned on her after a mere miscommunication. Her husband would feel her grip on his arm tighten.

"Aye I did, I think there was confusion on both ends of that fuse." He hated to admit it and wouldn't in front of his wife but Rydan took after her more fiery spirit, whereas he and Saras made popcorn and watched the fireworks on the side, though he was sure that they had tempers too.. his and Saras were just buried pretty deep that was all, where Rydan and Myr tended to roil more swiftly and burn hotly. "He has much to make up for our son." Years lost, grandkids..great grandkids, a gap where he and the rest of his family had zero news for years. He could see what she was mad. Besides he lived with her, not Rydan. Happy wife happy life, at least when her eyes had sparks dancing like the hottest forge. She was so beautiful when she was feisty. "We will just take it out of his hide when we see him I'm sure." There would definitley be a rather loud discussion if Myr and Ry were in the same room once again.

Myrida sighed. "Everything Sara's been through. She's just made herself worse after seeing him so happy. It would be one thing if he had looked for us...he didn't." At least not by her knowing. She inhaled. "Enough talk of that, please. I'm already upset that he went so long...now to learn all we know." She turned to her mate to lay her hands on his chest. "Our son takes after you in the dense department." she teased with a smile. "Now...why don't I start up some stew?" She patted his chest as she backed up to turn to the fireplace.

He sighed dreamily as he watched her walk away from him. She was so beautiful. And she knew just how to bribe him. With food, more importantly her food. It was so good. And as per normal he was hungry. For his part he tidied up the cabin. Flapped the blankets out to make sure there was no dust and swept the floor. Once the place was liveable he enjoyed one of his favorite passtimes of watching her cook. She made it look like an art. There was just something about her recipes he was sure it was the love and the pepper. Just the right amount of everything. Gah. "Can I help?" He asked meekly. In case she wanted company in the kitchen. He would do his best to forget the family troubles for the moment. Poor Myr had been through a lot. Saras had had a long and hard recovery, and was still quite fragile. Ai'ian adored his daughter she was so sweet and kind and well, he was so proud. For all her supposed weakness she was a fighter.

Myrida 5 She smiled as she looked back to him. "Oh, you can help chop veggies. I know you love that." she was shifting around ingredients. Setting them out to make fresh bread. As well as a good selection of veggies and some startches. She squeaked. "Oh oh look at these fish." It was rare to see fish in Zena.

Excellent, at least he had a job. If he kept his hands busy it would keep his mind busy too. Always a good thing. And he liked to help. He took pride in his finely chopped veggies. "You know I would not survive without your cooking." He teased. She had the flair. He could cook too but classicaly he was good at meat over a fire. Yum. She was great at everything and her baking drove him wild. Fresh bread? Muffins? Cookies? Yes please. His sweet daughter was right, he worshipped her Mother with his love. She was gravity itself. And she was all his. He lived a happy, happy life. She was strong, proud and daring. Logical and fiery of temper. And drop dead gorgeous. He fought back a purr.

Myrida 6 She smiled as she felt her mate at her back. She was such a lucky woman, the male was tall, strong with just the right amount of gentleness. She hummed softly as she recalled their years together. Happiness was the baseline emotion. It was a delight in itself to know that her mate was the height of every female's ideal back in both the villages they had set up shop. Myr looked to her mate. "Ai...what if I asked for more kids?"

"Well, if you were to ask for more kids...I would have to oblige you, as I really want more too. We just had a bit much to deal with for a few years but I do think we are close to something for Saras to make her feel better properly finally." It was what they prayed for every night since she had fallen ill all those years ago. "Perhaps new medicine from Jauhar or Yael."
He shook his head. "I think siblings would help her, having more kids would certainly help me..I love it when they are small and think all of our jokes are hilariously funny." He sighed dreamily. "I want more."
The world deserved to have more Myrida/Ai'ians running around. "I don't think I will saddle any of these ones with 'daroch' though, they need new strong names." Oh what a lovely day it was. His mood had improved triplefold and he had already been pretty happy.

Myridia 7 She laughed, deeply and wholeheartedly. It was a long time incoming for this type of laugh. She looked to her husband. "Oh my love. Some more little ones that remind me of you....as well as a few more girls that take after me." She looked proud of her strong backbone for a moment. "Though, Rydan took after me in the backbone category...go figure." she mused outloud. Shrugging as she went to finish making food. As she dished out their meal the couple finished out their night with a lovely dinner and the hope for the ease of the storm. Looking forward to the next horizon they would see together.
