“So….. explain this to me again?” Ben looked over at his fiancé and her cousin, still huddled in his blanket and cradling a Hot Toddy. It wasn’t exactly his go to beverage but it was late and he had just been accosted by a snowy mannequin who had knocked him on his a** in the snow. All the while his girl did some s**t and kicked the damned thing’s a**. They hadn’t even gotten to enjoy their date. It was rude, that's what that was. Cold and rude. And now he was meant to do something because of reasons. “Why exactly? I’m just hazy on the reasoning here.”

Ben took a sip of his drink, the Irish whiskey burning a bit as it went down, and sighed. “What's in it for me?” He eyed the short blonde woman before winking at her and shrugging. “I mean, this whole nonsense is just more money in my family’s pocket since the crap that get destroyed has to be cleaned up and rebuilt but still…. Why? Why me? Why now? And just for shits and giggles, what would happen if I said no?” He really didn’t care one way or the other but he really was curious as to why he was being dragged into this s**t when all he did was get his a** beat by the ******** up Frosty.

Abby was actually proud of her self as well. She did do a bit of preening when Alex praised her, smiling proudly. She still felt...Bad that she had dragged Ben into this (she would've kept him blissfully unaware), but it couldn't be helped. There was a tiny snort when Alex said that converting would allow Ben to protect himself and her, which she was a super senshi she could take care of herself thank you. As far as nothing happening if he said no, that was something new. She thought that if some one knew about the negaverse and they were not apart of it perse then they would have to be eliminated. This was news to her that they didn't have to do that anymore.

A roll of her eyes was next, "I'm not going to get injured Alex...I'm better at dodging at least and my kicks hurt now." Not that she would mention the senshi that hit her with his stupid metal arm......She was going to find that squishy thing and kick his a** next time she saw him. Or call Miyamoto....That would be a nice experience. Abby watched with her head tilted to see what her fiancé would say. To be honest, she could use some one to patrol with. While she doesn't mind going alone, having back up and the ability to not call her cousins (which she knew was probably more annoying than not), would be nice.

Deciding on something to maybe entice him a bit further she tugged Ben down so she could whisper in his ear, pulling away with a blush and a pointed look. "That's just adding onto the fact that yes, you would have the power to take care of things like the weird frosty thing that attacked us earlier...Without me having to save you that is." She gave him a haughty grin, looking rather pleased with herself.

"Oh trust me, the first bit of power always hurts...it hurts each time you gain a bit more power. But it means you survive better, can come home in better shape from a fight, and protect others better. Power isn't free." Unless you were on the other side, of course. He didn't mention this, he had a rather strong dislike for the other side, because what they got handed to them didn't matter. Though he was certain they'd mention the cost of gaining more power, the more fighting they did to get there, but they felt no pain when gaining the power itself. It just happened.

"Ths whispers, most if not all of them, I can shine light on. If I don't know something personally, from first hand experience, I still know of it." He'd been at this too long. Knowledge came hand in hand with time spent serving, it nearly always did. How long had he served...how many years had he given to the cause. The war still went on, not like it had once been, he'd say this was safer and easier. The battles less often and less dangerous, it was safer for new officers to learn even if it took longer. This one was lucky, as was the rest of his family, they weren't being thrown in the deep end where as he'd dove right into the deep end. This wouldn't be that bad.

"Her magic lures things closer to her, along other things, she has useful magic." He could remember being under it's influence himself, it wasn't something he'd like to fance again though he knew he would. They would train and he'd deal with her magic again. Now he'd have another family member to train with, whether he knew it or not.

"No, no contracts." Pulling his hands out of his pockets as he stepped closer to his cousins fiance, powering up as he did so. He really should have brought Katya with him for this. "You might be capable Aberdeen, but you are just one person. Against an eternal or two you wouldn't stand a chance...and a royal would kill you." He'd almost been killed by one himself, he knew how dangerous taking a royal on was. He would, of course, do it again but he might approach it in a better way than the last time - especially that one. "You have gotten stronger though Aberdeen, don't think you haven't. I've simply seen and done more." Far more than he should have at the age he was, he'd joined at sixteen.

Smiling up at his cousins fiance he pressed a gloved hand to his chest. "This will hurt, I'll be as gentle as I can." But there was no avoiding the pain. His hand slipped past clothing and flesh with ease, something which should not be possible, and he reached for the starseed he knew he'd find. Grasping it he pushed, pushing his own power into it. "After this he should rest Aberdeen, nothing too stressing." She knew what it was like.

"I'll inform Lorcan and the others." Not just Hudson...but others - Ophelia as well. Had he told her that their other cousin had joined as well? That there was another corrupt senshi in the family....

Ben smirked at Abby, “So you're kind of like Poison Ivy in that one Batman movie. You know, the one with the nipples on the batsuit.” He was doing his best to hide his general discomfort over everything with glib comments, “see! Even he knows it's better to have me around.” The young man pointed at Alex… who was no longer Alex. The shorter male was now in some seriously fancy getup. Something that seemed stupidly difficult to move around in, unlike what Abby had been dressed in just a little while ago.

“Funny, I said nearly the same thing,” He muttered, tensing as Not Alex pressed his gloved hand against his chest. Ben didn’t really understand. He was solid from all the work so it wasn’t like this other male was just going to push him over or anything but then he did understand. Not Alex’s hand sank through him. He didn’t so much as shove as he did, well, phase through the cloth, the skin, the bone, the everything. Ben opened his mouth to say something, anything, even as his hand absently gripped onto Abby’s, but his chance to speak ended abruptly as a soul searing pain ripped through him.

The lilac haired man gasped, breath stuttering through him, even as his own body tightened involuntarily. His grip on Abby’s hand would have spasmed around her fingers. Crushingly tight at first before loosening as darkness ate at the edges of his vision and things faded into the distance. No! He fought the encroaching void. Struggled against the pain but it was like he had gotten into the ring with a heavyweight champion. It was a pointless fight. And yet he still mumbled out ‘mine’, before things went dark and he slumped over, knocked out cold. He never got a chance to clarify if he meant Abby or his truck… or maybe both.

Abby took a look around and figured it would be safe to leave the monstrosity where it is. She reached into Ben's pocket to grab his keys, securing the truck with the key fob she found. Of course she made sure they were in an actual parking lot without any time restrictions which thank god she saw that there were no restrictions or time slots for that lot. She nodded and pulled out her phone to reach out to Katya, putting Ben's keys into her purse while making her way over to her cousin. She heard the comment about Lorcan not passing out and she rolled her eyes, "Lorry is too stiff to pass out from something like corruption Alex. Wait....Ophie is in the family business now? When did this happen? I was just at her house not too long ago..."

That got her to blush a little but she didn't elaborate. She touched Ben and Alex while preparing for the teleport, sighing while looking down at her fiancé. Im sorry Ben...But you are mine now. Family protects family. and she promised to do just that. Corruption was hard on the body but soon Ben would see how amazing being on the right side of this war could be.
