CONCEPT CONTEST: Negaverse Rehoming

    We have a trio of Negaverse characters that have been returned to the shop to be rehomed. To rehome these characters, the shop will be hosting a concept contest to fit them with invested players who will keep them in play. This concept contest is open to anyone who is not currently at or over 15 Points based on the Character Cap, and all entries must abide by the rules. Please read the full post below before working on an entry!

    Contest Information

      These characters will be entering the shop as completely new characters, so players will need to create brand new Negaverse profiles for them. The instructions are slightly different depending on if you are entering for one of the lieutenants or the youma, so please use the correct form below!

      This contest will be open for a little more than one week. Contest entries do not require a full profile to be completed, but players will need to outline the character’s name, hobbies, virtues and flaws, and any information that would be relevant to establishing them as a character in regards to their backstory (such as friends or family) as well as a brief summary of powered information. Winners will be chosen based on civilian/powered profile as well as a paragraph detailing a compelling backstory.

      There are a few major things to keep in mind when entering for any of these characters:

      • New characters can only have backdated awakenings up to two weeks prior to coming into play. The lieutenants must follow this rule but there is more flexibility if you are entering for the youma; you can read about youma here!
      • Lieutenants can be awakened by any third stage Negaverse character or higher; humanoid youma are typically created with the help of a General Sovereign or as a result of overwhelming Chaos (such as a Negaverse character eating too many starseeds)
      • You may reference your own NPC characters as need be, and may include disposables in your backstory. You can reference PC characters as well, as long as you have player permission to do so.
      • You must be below character cap by the time you submit any entries for a character. Anyone under cap is eligible to win a lieutenant, but because youma are considered rare characters, we are looking for players who have reached third stage for any of their characters or have had a character in play for over a year and is comfortable working with the unique rules for the youma.
      • Negaverse uniform standards will need to be reflected when the lieutenants grow. They can be similar to their current designs but they will need to clearly incorporate ceremonial military / office professional designs.
      • These characters cannot purify before they have reached third stage growth requirements. Players entering for them should make a genuine effort to keep them in the Negaverse. Staff will not deny plots to purify if it feels like a natural progression for their character but it is our hope that these characters will stay in the Negaverse.
      • Some of these characters come with additional powered and civ art; Negaverse Lieutenant A (Dance Ribbons) has civilian art, and powered and civ art by Silhh; these will be shared with the winner

    Entry and Forms

      Please PM The Space Cauldron with the following form before 6PM EST on Friday, September 20th. Moderator Staff and GMs will vote, and the winner will be announced after about 48 hours from the contest close. Each player can only submit one concept per character, so please only send your best one in! You can send in a concept for all three characters if you choose, but if you have questions about anything please make sure you ask them at least 24 hours in advance so we have time to get back to you.

      If you are entering for a Negaverse Lieutenant, please use the following form:

These characters will need to meet current Negaverse Uniform guidelines so please keep that in mind when growing them!)
      [b]Backstory[/b]: (Please write at least one paragraph to describe how this character awakened/will awaken. This information might include how the Negaverse noticed them or what might make them want to recruit your character. You should go into as much detail as necessary to create a compelling story, and you should follow all of the previously listed rules. Please feel free to be creative! This might also include information about where you'd like to see them in the Negaverse, including branch. You should go into as much detail as necessary to create a compelling story, and you should follow all of the previously listed rules. Please feel free to be creative!     Winning Procedures

      When the winning entry is selected, the player will have two weeks to get the completed quest up for stamping. The character must be stamped before they can be ICly played. If players require an extension because something unprecedented has delayed them, please PM the mule to keep in contact with us so we can work with you!

      If the winning player is unable to post a completed quest for a stamp within two weeks and is not in communication with staff, they forfeit their win and the character will go to another player or be offered in future events. Please keep an eye on deadlines for this! Please also make sure you save the art and host it on your own accounts.

      Some of this art may have been done by artists who are no longer with the shop; they are not responsible for growing this character and should not be contacted for future stages. The winning player will be able to grow on templates when the character reaches growth requirements at no cost to them; this is considered a contest win so second and third stage growths are free. These characters cannot be rehomed to another player but can be surrendered back to the shop.

    Rehoming Other Characters

      If a player has any powered characters they would like to rehome to the shop to be released in similar style events, the shop will compensate the player with one Crown Token per character.. If any player finds they have no muse or are stuck with a character they no longer have any desire to play, please let us know and we can work to get them back into play.     Thank you to everyone who participated! We had some really great ideas and we want to express our gratitude to everyone who entered to give these characters new life! If your concept did not win, please do not be discouraged! If an idea resonated with you we encourage you to quest for them!

    The winners of this Concept Contest Rehoming Event will need to submit their quests for approval; please understand that winning concepts may still need tweaks before they can be stamped. You will need to make sure you have written full profiles for the character you are entering for; full questing information can be found here! When you are finished setting up your full quest in the Application Quest Subforum, please post in the Acquired stamping thread!

    After your character is stamped, you can begin playing them immediately! Characters must be posted for a stamp before end of day October 31st or the character will be forfeited. Some characters have extra art; players will be provided this art after they have received their stamp.

    We look forward to getting these characters stamped and we are eager to roll out some of our future rehoming concepts!

    Please remember, all contest wins have no cooldown; these are special characters! They will still count towards your character cap.
