takes place after Paint it BlackFor all sense of the word, the night was fairly calm. People went about their business in Destiny City. Businesses closed their doors for the day while others opened up. Above all this bustle though the skies above remained perfectly calm. The night sky shone with the multitude of stars that one would be able to see just by glancing upwards. Even as the night air ruffled the fur on Illyria's body, the young cat refused to move an inch. Pain still radiated from the lashing that she had endured and even if she were to move there was the fact that the world needed to quit spinning around before she would even dare moving a paw. In her current state it would be so easy to make one little misstep and end up even more injured as she was.
It was with a supreme amount of effort that she attempted to rise to a sitting position before she dragged herself to take shelter under an air conditioner unit that was raised off of surface of the roof. It'd be harder for potential enemies to spot her if she were under cover. And there were various signatures registering on her radar now that she was able to focus a little better. Her tiny body curled in on itself even as she simply wished for the chance to have done something different on this day. For she had definitely failed Meissa. Even as another wave of agony washed through her did Illyria try to lick gently at the sizeable laceration she'd acquired earlier in the pitched battle to save the bobcat senshi. The wound itself wasn't at all dangerous like having a starseed ripped out ... but it still hurt terribly. Meowing forlornly, both at the physical pain and the mental pain, did Illyria simply curl up into a tighter ball before letting her eyes close.

Something had felt suddenly, wildly, wrong. Ida hadn't known what, at first, but the feeling hadn't gone away. Some how, she knew these feelings were coming from Illyria, of all people. Illy was in danger and for once, Ida was not at her side to protect her. What had the Mauvian gotten herself into, all alone?
It must have been their bond... Illy had told her how she'd sensed things wrong with Ida when the chaos had infested the asteroid. This must be how that had felt, in reverse this time. It left Ida near frantic as she turned in place, trying to pinpoint a direction. Illy needed her... Ida couldn't live with herself is something happened to her bonded. Everything Illy had done for her... all the times she had been there to take care of her...
There. Ida could sense something over there. Turning, Ida began to run, pushing herself for all the speed her eternal form could bring, leaping between buildings almost recklessly. Her senses stretched wider, trying to find any chaos signatures that might be the source of this wrong feeling... but there was nothing. Whatever had happened... Ida couldn't even begin to guess. Either the source was gone, or it was something without a power signature to sense.
She landed hard on the rooftop and skidded a little, darting looks about for a small white form.
"Illy!" She shouted, hoping the cat was in a state to be able to hear and respond to her. "Illy, are you here?"
Ida paced to the structures she could see and began to search their hollows, looking for her friend.

The signature of an eternal order senshi registered on Illyria's radar. Her heart began to beat wildly for a moment. She knew of a few order senshi that were of the eternal level but even as the signature registered as coming nearer Illyria knew deep down inside that it would be no one else but Ida. It was their bond shining strong that had alerted Illyria to the fact of who the owner of this signature truly was. The world had settled down a little since she had first crawled under the air conditioner unit. She was still feeling quite the amount of pain though. Her mind was still clear.
Moving would ultimately hurt worse and it was with some effort that the small Mauvian pushed herself up on all four paws. Her back flared with agony and she instead lowered herself to the ground in a crouch before the sweetest sound she could think of was coming through loud and clear. It was definitely Ida. No one else would call her 'Illy'. Her heart rate slowed before she attempted to scoot out from under her impromptu hiding spot. Finding it just a little difficult to squirm out did Illyria settle for meowing, quite loudly, before her voice croaked out, "Ida... I think I'm here. Whether or not I'm in one piece is another question."
She so badly wanted to charge after that corrupt that had taken Meissa from her but first she would need to heal first. Could they storm the Negaverse or...?
She choked on the sob that she wanted to release before gritting her teeth. What would happen the next time that she saw Meissa? Would the Bobcat senshi recognize her? Would they be enemies? She sniffed silently before trying to pull herself out from underneath the unit. Would Ida think anything less of her for failing in her Mauvian duties? Her ears flopped over just a little more as she once more felt the pain of the wounds she had sustained.

She heard a voice... small, tired... and zeroed in on it, falling to her knees beside the air conditioner to lean down on her hands and peer under it. A familiar, soft form greeted her and Ida exclaimed at the red that mattered her fur, feeling a rush of concern for her bonded.
"Illy! What happened? Are you okay?" She said as she reached in to help pull the kitten out, being very careful not to drag her or catch her on any of the machine parts. She was delicate with her touch as she drew the cat into her lap, feeling along her limbs for any obvious breaks. She was careful not to touch the open wounds, and as steady as her nurse's hands were, she was a maelstrom inside of worry and upset. How would hurt a Mauvian? They were one of the most useful creatures on the planet, and while they could defend themselves, they also weren't truly fighters... Anyone who hurt one was, almost literally, kicking a kitten to do so.
"I've got you, love." Ida murmured as she stroked her friend gently, focusing inwards on the energy that gathered inside of her. She let her hold on it go and let it flow freely, down her arm and into the amber on the back of her hand, which began to glow softly. Energy flowed from the transcended to the cat in her arms, and with it, healing from the piece of Ida that she wore. Quote: Personal Item: Healing Amber Physical Description - a bracelet with a large amber stone that sits on the back of her hand Benefit/Boost - When Ida (or any other transcended) focuses her transcended energy through the bracelet, the amber in it adds a healing boost. It has enough power to heal a large/serious wound about fifty percent (enough to reduce lethality or stop major bleeding), a handful of moderate injuries such as sprains, strains, bruising, cuts etc, or a large number of small wounds such as scrapes and bruises. It takes concentration to use and can't be used in battle.

If there had been one thing that Illyria wanted the most in that moment, the universe certainly provided: Ida. Illyria's gut clenched for about a second in terror before she made herself relax. The stricken face of her bonded partner stared in at her hiding spot as hands, dearly familiar hands, reached in to offer sanctuary. Illyria uncurled herself as best as she could to make it easier for Ida to safely extract her from her hiding place but she could not help but make the tiniest sound of discomfort as the wound on her side stretched during the process. As she was gathered into the Orchid senshi's lap she blinked slowly at her friend before looking away. Her voice was soft as once more she started to answer the questions that Ida had asked of her.
"I made a mistake."
For a moment that was all she could admit out loud to Ida. The gentleness of Ida's hands, as they ghosted along her body, searching for potential injuries that she could have missed, almost lulled the young cat into slumber. But the feeling of energy washing through her body had Illyria perking up just a little. The wound on her side stung less and it seemed like the world had decided to settle down and not spin anymore. She turned over in Ida's lap before batting softly at the fancy bracelet. Her gaze was somber as she chose her words carefully, "I was trying to aid a senshi and I fear we both erred in judgement. We should have called the whole thing off when a wrinkle came up but we thought we'd figured it all out. We thought we would be enough to take down another super level senshi but our intel was wrong. The senshi in question had grown to into an eternal, and her magic was too strong to combat."
Illyria's voice softened before she continued, "I was doing my best but it wasn't enough. I tried to help and I failed. I couldn't protect her and now she's paying the price. Chaos took her ... from me ... and from Order."

Ida's hands paused as she listened, then took up their stroking again. Above the small, warm body, Ida's face had fallen with sympathy and a knowing sadness.
"I see." She murmured, trying to put that sympathy into her low, warm voice. "I'm sorry... I know that must have been awful and scary, and you must be worried about your friend. You really did do the best you could... its not your fault, what happened."
Ida knew the feeling though.. the way the failure ate at your insides and your mind railed against everything you should have done better. She hated that Illyria was going through that now, and that she hadn't been here to help her. There must not have been time to call her... or the corrupt had been too violent to allow them a moment to get off a distress signal. Had Illyria used her new senshi form? And even with that, and another super senshi, the corrupt had been to much for them... Ida knew there must be much more to the story than the little Illyria was telling her.
"There is nothing more you can do for her while you're hurt like this... certainly nothing tonight." She said softly as she finished sharing her energy and gathered the cat up into her arms. "Tomorrow, if you're feeling okay, we can go out and try to look for her. We can let others know that she's been taken, and to keep an eye out for her... hopefully we can find her soon."
And deal with whatever state she was in, though that was not something Ida wanted to bring up. Likely Illyria was already thinking it... but corruption was not the end. She could be saved, if they could find her again.

The truth was Illyria was terrified for the prospect of the fate that awaited Meissa. Corruption had to be one of the worst experiences a senshi or knight could go through. Luckily for Ida, she had the protection of her world to spare her from that fate. Illyria had seen, though, what it did to Ida's home world just the previous year. Things had simply died on the world that had once been vibrant with life. Luckily the chaos had been located and defeated. The blame could have been lain fully at her paws for insisting that Meissa keep to the plan that had been concocted between the pair of them.
A vision of the time on Alastor in which Illyria had come face to face with an Ida that had looked vastly different flashed through her mind and Illyria shuddered in response. If that was what awaited the Bobcat senshi then Illyria was more desperate to try and get her back. Even as she was gathered up though in Ida's arms though she had to admit to herself that she was in no condition to go racing off to save the other senshi.
Her voice was soft as she spoke, soft but stronger than what it had been, "you're right. I can't do anything right now. Doing so would only exacerbate things and that would be the wrong approach to take. It just hurts to imagine the possibilities of what could be happening, you know, the "what ifs"."
Though she clearly didn't like the idea of waiting and getting the word out about Meissa's fate, that's how it most likely would have to play out. Her heart clenched once more in response to the thought of what a possible encounter in the future would look like before she turned herself around in Ida's arms to peer at her bonded partner, "we can still save her when we find her, right?"
The unspoken question on if Meissa would even want to be found afterwards was one that Illyria kept to herself.

The orchid senshi nodded as she stroked the Mauvian in her arms, trying to comfort her with her presence and her touch even as her own heart was heavy for her friend. If there had been a chance of catching them tonight, she might have tried... maybe left Illyria somewhere safe, or taken her with, trusting that she could keep her out of danger. They could have called Kerberos for help, or Murikabushi and Fang, or Selinur... but the corrupt was long gone now. There truly was nothing more they could do, for now. Best then to take care of Illyria, help her recover, and tackle this problem at full strength with clear heads. This would be a long-term battle now, unless they got really, really lucky.
"We can still save her." She said, putting all her confidence into that statement. "Anyone can be saved, if they want to be. Its never truly too late."
Even youma could be purified... but Ida kept the thought of Alkaid out of her mind. It wouldn't come to that. They'd find her before anything like that happened to her.
"Lets get you home." Ida said softly as she turned towards downtown, keeping to a smooth walk that wouldn't jostle her friend too badly. "They'll want to set her up as a corrupt senshi, so they'll take good care of her, don't worry about that. She's too useful to them for the Negaverse to do anything else bad to her."

The gentle motions of Ida's hands gently stroking along her sides soon had Illyria letting out the gentlest of purrs. It wasn't as loud as it usually was but it was something. Her head turned to stare out into the darkening sky even as Ida's words sparked hope deep inside that things could still work out for everyone. The jostling of her small frame caused the briefest of vocal protests but it soon subsided as Ida began to walk in the direction of where home was. The physical wounds that she had acquired had been healed sufficiently for the time being but the emotional ones would take longer to fade: Illyria knew this.
Would she have to try harder in order to erase such deficiencies in her approach to battle? Perhaps though these would be thoughts to mull over some other time. Illyria focused and held onto the words Ida spoke of as they headed towards the apartment, grasping onto them like a lifeline, willing the scenario to be true that the bobcat senshi could still be brought back to Order's side.
First things first though... she needed to heal.
