Thoraka 1
He was on his way back home with the rare vegetables that could not be sourced from the giant beast ranch garden. He was ready to go back to Jauhar and be with his great trees again, Matori tried but they were not the same beings he knew and loved from Jauhar, he still talked to them and told them all of his stories. He was starting to explore his own personality more as he got older, starting to loosen up in areas and prune in others, he was developing a spiritual and creative side that pleased him greatly.

He had nearly gotten back to the ranch but the storm that had been threatening to break let loose above him in a way that sent even his weather proof self under a few large plant leaves with a sour look on his face. Couldn't have been by a warm in with soup, nooo had to be out here on the path, just too far to run and just too far from town to consider turning back. He glared at the basket that slowed him. Ugh.

Thoraka 2
He was quite ashamed to say that he jumped pretty far in the air. He had glanced barely around but had not noticed the connecting tunnel or the pale skinned hybrid staring out at him from the murk.

Being caught jumping in front of anyone did not make him feel all that good about the ocurrance. But when you were snuck up on in a cave it was hard not to be a bit nervous, it was instinctual, he supposed.

He licked his lips wondering what his best course of action was. "I uh, eh, I didn't see you there, sorry if this is your cave." He looked down at the seat the male had offered. "Oh uh, thanks." It was courteous of the stranger.

"I suppose it is better in here than it is out there." At his words lightning struck and thunder boomed, the rain pouring harder. Well so much for sneaking out to find a better nook. It would probably be just as crowded...why not make the best of his situation.

"My name is Thoraka." He lifted his eyebrows expectively.

Thoraka looked down at the large sack of vegetables that he had had slung over a shoulder. "Oh well, I got these, we don't grow them where we are so I have to buy them." He held up an artichoke for Ustasis' inspection. There were worse people perhaps that he could be stuck in a cave with.

The other male had pale iceling skin, Thoraka's father was an iceling and had taught him to discern between that and the darker blue of the water folk, but there was no doubt that this male also had that in his ancestry. He was in a word beautiful. He was accustomed to being the most beautiful male but Ustasis had fine bones and aristocratic bearing. Good bloodlines he was sure. Perhaps..here was a chance at a friend? They shared a race in common after all, that was more than he could say for most of the people around Matori.

"I was just heading home to the beast ranch when the storm hit." He was beginning slowly to be thankful it had trapped them both in this shelter.

Relaxing further, he gave the male a real smile. "Yes it is hard to tell! I would like to use magic one day, a storm elementalist is my goal, I just have to find a good teacher. "Sort of, we are affiliated with that big beast ranch but not by blood. We spend a lot of time in Jauhar so newish? I haven't had the chance to explore over much and we mostly keep to ourselves even while at the beast ranch.

There were multiple beast tamers in the region but the ranch he spoke of was approaching the size of an oban city if not in numbers. They supplied critters all over and had a good reputation for breeding fine beasts.

"I think they thought more time im Matori might be good for me. You see I never really got over the isolation from my Mother's tribe. They for the most part don't see a son, they see a hybrid, an impurity, as if I might somehow come and attack their tree, as if I would harm Aisha." He drooped and then shrank in on himself. This boy was so easy to talk too...he had said too much, revealed too much, opened himself up for more hurt. Over time he was coming to a settlement with himself. There were hybrid towns close to each of the mother trees..but it was different than being one with the people. He shook his head.

"Don't mind me, its not always easy being two things at once. I am getting there."

"Uh thanks," he rubbed the back of his neck somewhat embarrassed. He wasn't usually a talk about it sort of guy but he thought that maybe, just maybe this lad might understand him, and barring that he was nice to be around.

"What do I want to know about the area? Well, I have always wanted to see a snaptrotter nest. What else, where the beast food is?" Hidden gems were always the best it seemed no matter where you were, eat where the locals eat. That was where the best food was, so his Mother had told him. She loved food too. Dad would eat just about anything.

"Maybe er a nice view? Or a cave? Caves are cool." He liked little adventures with good people and he decided right then and there that if the other male wanted to go on an adventure with him...he wouldn't say no. He had a somewhat hard time making friends, usually people didn't want to climb up a tree during a lightning storm and he rarely spent time inside, he even took his food outside to eat.

"A musk huh?" That sounded interesting, most smells didn't bother him he would have to see if snaptrotter stench did.

"I will take food anyway I can get it, but I do appreciate home cooked more than restaurant. The love is there." He gestured at his body. "I need much fuel, my parents joke that I would have eaten the house as a baby if they had let me.

"Yeah! Caves are great!" He peered deeper in, "Oh I didn't see the passage at the outset." He blushed a bit, feeling a bit embarrassed that the only thing he had noticed was the blue hybrid. What exactly did that say about his state of mind? Maybe...just maybe.. he did actually need a friend and Mom had been right all along. He shuddered just a bit.

"Very smart of you to have the lay of the land. Hopefully I will know it just as well one day."

For the first time in his life, he relaxed around someone who was not family, near a complete stranger but he could not bring himself to distrust the lithe male. Something in Thoraka told him that this kid was special, in a diamond in the rough sort of way.

He followed his face unfolding in wonder and he smiled hugely at this very cool place. "That is so beautiful...you know I love storms..just not when they give a weeks worth of water in one fell blast wave. This..this is magical.

He looked at his new companion..for Thoraka would keep him in his life if he could now. Good people could be hard to find. "Uh the waterfall, of course. Please show me."

He took a deep breath and enjoyed the feeling of anticipation.
