Birds - Teddy likes birds. He likes looking at them and admiring them. He likes drawing them too. If he happens to be at a store and sees a bird figurine or plush, he would definitely be tempted to pick it up and walk around with it until it was time to go, and then put it back. He likes learning about the different types of birds, and would love to make friends with birds. Sometimes he likes to pretend he is like Mary Poppins and sing so that the birds would come to him, but only when no one else is around!
Organization - Everything being neat and orderly is important to Teddy. He gets uncomfortable around big messes, so does his best to clean up. If the teacher has an activity with a lot of pieces needing to be picked up, he is the first to volunteer. He likes keeping stacks of paper neatly in a pile, and his pencil at his desk has to be perfectly horizontal otherwise he would fuss with it until it was. He likes sorting things by color and putting things in order. Maybe he could consider a librarian or professional organizer as a career when he grows up.
Virtues:
Patient - Listening is easy for Teddy. He likes to listen to people talk, likes to hear their stories. When someone is having a hard time, he wants to be there to cheer them up. Maybe he could point out some birds to them, or just give them time to calm down. He is quiet, and can be shy, but mostly he just likes to observe the world around him and let things settle into place.
Respectful - Teddy likes order and rules. It is easier for him to understand how things work if he knows there are set guidelines. He is courteous and gracious and does his best to help those around him. He knows people come from all walks of life and might have a harder life than others, so he does his best to treat everyone with respect and kindness.
Flaws:
Apathetic - While Teddy does express emotions and can be a happy child, when things get stressful or beyond his control, instead of an outburst Teddy tends to shut down and fall into apathy. He can become unresponsive and detached from what is going on around him, which can be frustrating for those trying to find out if there is something wrong, or trying to get him involved with something that has overstimulated him. It tends to happen a lot during instances of confrontation or when emotions are high.
Particular - More than just detail oriented, Teddy likes things a certain way. If it’s not that way, then he gets flustered and frustrated. He doesn’t do well in chaotic situations, and would prefer the rigidity of rules being set in place. If something is out of place, it will bother him until he or someone else corrects it. This could be something as simple as having his shoelace untied, or something more difficult for him to control like letters not lining up on a display board in a classroom.
