Quote:
Occurs around 5pm February 1st, 2024 after
Through the fog

The alarm went off, because of course it did, and while it might not rouse everyone it did rouse Alexandre even though his phone was under a pillow and thus muffled. But he slept light, something which had happened over the years, he used to sleep to the point that a bomb could go off and it would not rouse him from his sleep. Now though the muffled alarm had him blinking open his eyes, slowly, and yawning as he stretched and wriggled about till he was sitting up.

Staring down at Rene, fingers moved to tangle themselves in the other's hair. He really had messed up and he was going to have to make up for it - all of it. The first part he supposed was tending to the others' health, and feeding him, but then he would at some point seek out that other corrupt and see to it that they understood the importance of taking orders when they were given - without question.

That would wait though because Rene was important and needed to be tended to, because he was here and couldn’t be ignored. That in mind he tried to leave the bed as slowly, and silently, as he could so he could get to making dinner. He wasn’t sure what he wanted for dinner but he had enough cook books in the house, also ones filled with baking ideas which belonged to Hudson, but he needed an idea for tonight.

On silent feet the blond had made his way from his room and down to the kitchen so he could flip through the books he had, while also turning the tv’s volume down low and leaving it on some random channel because the background noise was needed. As he shuffled around he managed another trip upstairs in order to change his clothing, since he’d been sleeping in lounge wear, and now in proper attire the blond was back in the kitchen and cutting, peeling, and putting together dinner all while Rene slept upstairs.

Everything hurt but that fog had cleared from his head a bit which was a godsend as Rene blinked and started to wake up. The space in front of him was empty and Alexandre was gone again. Maybe it had all been a dream after the nightmare of a night he’d had. Getting out of bed, he found those pants and put them back on, leaving them undone and pulling the long shirt down to hide that fact. Wandering around, he made his way to the bathroom to splash some water on his face again. Already the rough stubble of not shaving for a day was starting to show against the dark bruising on his face. It hurt to touch and he could see how he looked like total s**t. Maybe he wasn’t hungover anymore but he still looked like he’d been banged up pretty bad, not the worst he’d been but still pretty bad. It usually wasn’t his face like this though. After that he headed downstairs and started to look for Alexandre, he saw the TV was on but hadn’t seen them yet.

After a moment he heard a sound in the kitchen and went to investigate. They had showered and changed, looking very warm as they always were. He’d never really been one to get too cold other than when heading outdoors but he also hadn’t really seen them without at least one or two layers. Pulling one of the chairs out, he sat and looked at the vegetables that were cut and ready for cooking. Food would be good though he hadn’t expected a meal to be made for him, he’d been one who lived on restaurants and delivery. “You cook for yourself? No chef?” Leaning his chin on his palm, carefully, he looked around and noticed a greenhouse through the window. He hadn’t really seen any in the city but then again he really didn’t know where in the city he was. Or even if he was still in the city. “How far from my shop and my place are we? I realize I don’t have my phone and I never opened up today, I wonder how many calls I got from customers…” He’d have to go through and call those back who had been interested in things and maybe stay open on one of the weekend days to make up for missed appointments but even the thought of it made his head throb and he pulled a hand up to his face again. It felt too bright in here.

It still felt a bit odd, being in their home but he was glad that it hadn’t been a dream about them being there with him. It was easier to go with the flow of things though, he’d figure it out as they went. That tension wasn’t in the air anymore either which helped as well, at least not as much now that they were here. “Is that your greenhouse out back? Do you grow flowers in there or something else?” They’d spoken of flower language before at his shop and he was curious if they grew anything related to that. He also was finding it a lot easier to ask these simple questions to try and learn about them now that he was in their home.

Turning, a bit startled to be honest, the blond nodded his head slowly. “Yeah, I don’t think anyone in my family really has a chef that cooks for them. Grand-mere does but she’s also in her nineties so it’s expected. She has a man servant to help her, especially since her husband passed on years back, he helps her with the day to day running of her home and the family affairs.” Actually she had a team who helped because she could no longer clean and the house was simply that massive.

“My cousin who lives here, Hudson, bakes but I really don’t like baking…it’s too precise. Cooking you can adjust to taste more.” Where as with baking measurements were far more needed and he disliked it, he didn’t like such a precise thing. “Mmm….a little over half an hour drive from your shop. It depends on traffic and lights though. If you want we can head back there, after dinner, so you can get your things. But you are eating first.” Rather firm in that he turned back to look at the cabinets and without a hesitation he planted his hands on the counter top and lifted himself up and onto the counter so he could open the cabinet and grab what he needed - flour. He didn’t use it as often as Hudson did so it was, of course, out of his reach.

Glancing over his shoulder, before turning to look towards the winding facing his backyard. “Mmm, yeah it is. I grew up with my mother having a greenhouse so when I got this place to myself, my friend moved out and I took over, I had a small greenhouse built. I have flowers but also herbs and some tea plants. There isn’t enough room for what I’d like to grow.” No room for such a greenhouse, or greenhouses, in the city. He had family members with massive greenhouses or several big ones, who grew all kinds of things. That was what he’d like one day in the future.

“It’s been a hobby since I was very little.” Sliding off the counter top he landed on his socked feet, glad for the grips on the bottom, he turned and went to measuring out the flour he needed. “Something to drink? I have tea, espresso, coffee, and nearly anything else you could want.”

Hunching down a bit he felt embarrassed, he’d not really been the one cooking back home. There were maids, cooks, and gardeners to take care of things back there and once moving here he had the money to order from restaurants or delivery. He knew how to bake a bit, but nothing else really. “That’s very respectable.” Hiding his embarrassment as he turned to look the other way for a moment, taking in more of the decor and stylistic choices of their home.

“Oh that’s not too far to drive, I’ll have to learn the way. Even though I have my car here now I still haven’t learned much of the roads outside of my route to and from the customs depot.” The roads made no sense here at times, one way into roundabouts and poor signage. Looking back over at them he felt a little torn, he didn’t want to go but he knew he had to work if he wanted to make sure he didn’t mess up his paperwork. “Maybe… but I am a bit nervous after last night.” Watching them up on the counter, he couldn’t help but smile a bit at how cute they looked. It felt nice seeing them again, without all the seriousness and stories of things he didn’t really understand yet. They’d come back for him and he’d get an explanation in time but he wanted to just take it easy and just let things happen if they’d let it.

Thinking for a moment he sat up straight and a bit startled before getting back up from his seat as he looked back towards the couch and living area. “My bag, I was wearing it. Do you have it here or did it get lost in the mess?” The quick turn of his neck though sent him back into his seat as he felt dazed, it had been a bit too much. He hoped it hadn’t because it had his paint kit in it as well as his wallet that held his papers in it too. It would be a mess to try getting them back since he’d have to try getting ahold of the embassy for a copy of his passport and some other vital documents.

Hearing that there were flowers in the greenhouse he turned back to them once the dizziness started to fade back away. “I never really found a tea I liked back home but then again sugar wasn’t allowed to be added in. Maybe I’ll try one or two of your blends and see, otherwise, I am fine with espresso most times. For now maybe water, or if you have wine?” A bit of a drink would be nice and might help a bit with some things too. Mostly with the pain in his head and side, even if he’d been completely wasted last night he still wanted just a little bit more like he normally had.

“It is but it’s also expected in our family. There are certain…rules if you will, unspoken things. They aren’t rules, there aren’t any rules really, and yet there are things we simply do because it is expected and even tradition in a sense. Tending to our own needs, as far as cooking and such, is expected. Nannies are allowed if need be, and some have them, but I was raised by my parents and brought to work with my mother. She had a playpen set up in her office and while she worked cases she would keep me at her side.” He’d grown up in the office and knew most of the people there, had none some since he’d been in diapers in fact, his mother had been particularly attentive to him and unwilling to get a nanny because he was the only child she’d ever have. She’d had complications with the pregnancy, and the birth, that left her unable to have another child. So she doted on him in that respect.

“”Figuring out this city, or any city, I doubt is easy. I imagine sticking an American in Europe it would be just as difficult for the American as it is here for you. Though I fear England would be a nightmare for an American.” Rolling his eyes as he spoke, thinking how the drivers side was all wrong.

Watching, and listening, he moved towards the other and pressed a hand to his shoulder. “Be slow, I’m certain you've got a concussion. But your bag I have, it’s in my wash room along with your clothing, under the stairs.” Building into the stairs was a small washroom with a door so it was a nicely hidden little room. No one knew the room under there, which most might think a broom closet, was actually a washroom. It had some shelving, a washer and dryer and a basket full of clothing which needed washing. A tiny little sink and basin so he could do the hand wash only clothing. It was a tiny room but it all fit though the room was cramped, and often he left the door open while he worked in there.

“While I don’t drink I always have wine, same for tea.” He said shrugging as opened a cabinet door down by his feet. Instead of a cabinet filled with food items, or something else, the door concealed a small wine fridge which was filled with various bottles of whites and reds along with two roses. They were all imports, Italian and French, he bought the best and yet drank none of it. It was all for guests…maybe for cooking as well.

“If anything I might cook with them. Speaking of which, I need a red wine for the dinner.”
PostPosted: Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:16 pm

“It still sounds much more respectable than a lot of others with money. Things were very different back home.” He’d had a governess but then again he was left alone most times at that huge manor that his family had. It would have been nice if he’d gotten to see his parents a bit more, other than when he was getting yelled at by his father for doing something that they deemed unfit for his standing in life.

“True and I’d been walking to and from everywhere until I got my car over here thanks to your help. My range for adventuring got wider just in time for all that snow where I wouldn’t dare drive in it.”
He didn’t want to mess up his car, it was a classic and the thing was finally back in the country he’d imported it from so many years ago.

Scratching at his neck a bit as he thought about the wine, he’d normally grab the bottle and drink from it straight after a night like the one he’d had but this wasn’t his home and he didn’t want to make them think he was a slob or an alcoholic. Relaxing a bit he nodded and walked over to the main fridge first to grab a bottle of water, looking at the ingredients of what they were making to try and decide what type of wine would go with it. Kneeling down, he opened the cabinet and rotated the bottles to see what was in there. They had asked for a red but to cook with. He had to go slowly, everything still swirled a bit here and there and he could tell he was a bit uncoordinated still.

Rotating the bottles, he grabbed two reds out, one French and one Italian. They were both expensive so he felt a bit put out that one would be added in for cooking, he’d offer up the Italian for that as a bit of a nose towards that country and the women from it he so very much wanted nothing more to do with. Handing it over, he set the other bottle down on the table and pressed the cold water bottle to his face, sighing with relief at the cold against the bruising. “I’m glad it didn’t get lost, you didn’t have to clean my clothing though. I could have figured something out maybe.” That wasn’t something someone, who wanted something casual, would have done. It was nice though and helped him feel better about things as well. Maybe they wouldn’t leave him behind again, he was starting to feel a little more comfortable as he felt some of those strings starting to float back into his grasp.

Looking at them for a moment after giving the bottle of wine a once over, he walked back over to them. Getting a whiff of their cologne as he peeked over to see what they were making. It smelled good, like bourbon and apples, something that felt really nice to have in this cold weather. “Where would I find a corkscrew or glass? Also, what are you making?” Part of him was morbidly curious how much of that expensive wine they’d use but at the same time, it felt a bit sacriligous. Either way, he hesitantly wrapped his arms around their waist and rested his chin on top of their head. “I missed you Alexandre…” Staying there for a bit, he was content to just steal some attention and pity. Maybe he’d tease if his head wasn’t killing him but he was happy they were doing something for him.

“The corkscrew is in there.” The cabinets above him had a small pull out draw under them, where he put things he rarely used…such as a corkscrew. “Glasses are right above it in the cabinet.” He has all manner of glassware, from ones for wine to things for champagne and whiskey glasses. He had it all and yet did not drink at all. It was for guests whenever he had them, or if Hudson ever drank. He honestly wasn’t sure if Hudson drank.

Taking the offered Italian wine he went to get things ready and poured out a little over a cup of wine to marinate the chicken in. He’d already hacked up his own pieces, a cleaver sitting on the counter having clearly been used, he’d butchered the chicken on his own. “You can grab an ice pack from the freezer, you know?” He questioned as he looked back at the other, raising a brow slowly. “I keep ice packs in the freezer, they are rather needed in this household.” Considering some of the injuries he’d had, as well as the bruises and bangs he got, he had several ice packs.

“Coq au vin, I thought you might like something French for dinner.” He started with even more of a smile, far too sweet and innocent, as he leaned up to press a kiss to the others lips. Leaning back into the other as he poured out the wine and dumped the chicken parts into it to marinate. “I’ve never made it before but I have it in a book.” And he knew it said to marinate the chicken but it didn’t say for how long…so he was thinking an hour or so perhaps, he just had everything else ready to go ahead of time.

“Mmm, I didn’t have to wash your clothing but I wanted to - because I care. It’s why I came for you last night. I couldn’t take being away any longer and I accepted it. I missed you too much…” And he was hoping to restart something with the other, after pleading for a chance of course, but it seemed things had not gone as he’d thought they would. Perhaps this was better…perhaps worse but the results were nice - very nice. Turning to press himself against the other, and rest his head against the other's shoulder. “I missed you very much, I’m glad you missed me as well…that you want to try. I hope you know what you are getting yourself into.” Because while it scared him, and he was convinced it wouldn’t last, he was willing to try and see how long this lasted and enjoy every moment of it.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:17 pm

Reaching up and over them, he grabbed what he needed and set it on the counter. There were so many types of glasses and he smiled a bit at how pristine and organized everything was. It was all perfect and he could see himself trying a few other things later on, not that he normally drank more than a bit of wine but the idea of trying some other drinks sounded nice. He’d try the wine in a bit, maybe after grabbing one of those ice packs they mentioned. “I’ll grab one in a bit.”

“Oh!” Alexandre was even making something specially for him, he couldn’t help but smile even more as they kissed him. “It’s the thought that counts… and you really are being so thoughtful.” To be honest it was more than he had ever done, he’d almost burned down his apartment making pasta and decided it was better to just eat out every day three times a day since he had the funds to do so.

Holding them tighter, things felt a lot better, not perfect but much more than he’d been thinking was going to happen after the past month. Running his hand down their back, he kissed the top of their head. “I’m glad you missed me… that you came back… everything was so dull without you. I might not know much about all this seriousness you were talking about but I know I want to find out more about you first. That’s more important to me.” Running his fingers through their pale hair, he made sure not to mess it up too much.

“You’ll find that I tend towards thoughtfulness when it comes to family and those I date.” Gifts, and things like this, were routine for him and for some it might be a lot - too much even. But on the other hand he wasn’t one for public displays of affection…everything was kept behind doors and away from others.

Staring up at Rene he nodded his head slowly. “I can accept that, you can ask me whatever comes to mind and I will answer as best I can. I don’t lie, I will tell you that now, I’m terrible at it.” But that didn’t mean he didn’t use other tactics in order to avoid the truth. But he never outright lied about things. He used to avoid even these games with words, finding them lacking and dishonest, but he’d grown to use such tactics because there was a need for them.

“I can’t answer everything about my family but I can explain, or answer, some questions there as well.” Figuring the other might want to know more about his family, since he’d mentioned them already. “Now, the chicken needs to marinate. I'm going to say maybe two hours, if you can handle that, and if you want in the meantime I can show you my small painting room?” He offered slowly, softly, he was confident in his own work but he did wonder what Rene would think of his work.

“Grab yourself some wine, grab an ice pack, and we can go see if you want.”
PostPosted: Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:23 pm

It made him think a bit, about how they’d always seemed to be thoughtful to him before so maybe he wasn’t as wrong about those strings he’d been trying to weave around them before the new year started. The fact that they didn’t lie felt almost like a trap of a sort but then again they weren’t good at hiding how he’d made them feel even back when they’d started that arrangement. Things that slipped out that made him fall for them a bit at a time.

“I don’t mind a wait for food, especially with how much work you are putting into it. Maybe… a few simple ones to start. What are some of your favorite things, like colors, flowers, and foods? I know what you like in bed but not those simple things that I can surprise you with.” He’d always loved the idea of bringing someone a bouquet of flowers, filled with ones that sent a message of how he felt. It would be nice since they’d understand the meaning, it wasn’t as special when that was lost on someone. “You can ask me things as well, with how meticulous you seem I wonder what you’ve dug up without my full name.” Then again they may not have looked into much because they weren’t looking for strings or commitment. He felt like they’d asked him something while he was hungover but it was still a bit far off. Everything before and after his head had hit the ground was fuzzy and he wasn’t sure how much of it would return, if ever.

Brightening, he followed them after pouring some wine into his glass. A quick sip to taste it, it was pretty good. Another of their New Year’s promises was being fulfilled and it really did help him feel better about things. Filling up his glass just a bit more, he then went for an ice pack in the freezer. Shivering as he pressed it to his face, he exhaled and followed them. “I would love to see your art, I’ve been wanting to see it for a while.”

“Good wine? Or should I be looking at other brands?” He questioned, not having a clue on wine he really didn’t know how good one wine versus another was. “I don’t know about wines, I just keep them stocked for when family visits or it’s needed for cooking, or baking.” Grabbing himself a flavored water from the fridge on his way from the living room. Twisting the top open, and taking a sip, he led the way through the living room and upstairs slowly.

“I like blue, any shade aside from neon blue. I like a winter palette, really. I find blues to be calming.” And he could really use that sometimes. “As for flower..I will say I prefer plants to cut flowers but I’m open to nearly any plant to be honest. I think the meaning is more important to me.” He wanted plants, rather than cut flowers, as they lasted longer and he could enjoy them for far longer. He could spend his time tending to them and see them year round when he went into his greenhouse. He certainly had a sort of preference but not to which plant - they were all lovely.

“I like savory foods but espresso, as I tend to take it, those who are close to me have found I’m rather…pliant when offered such in return for things.” A nice way to say he was bribeable without using those exact words. But it was true, close family members knew it as did the few close friends he had. “I didn’t dig up much, I was only was looking for what was needed to accomplish something, I’m certain more was found but wasn’t given to me.” He knew Lorcan knew more, had found out about the others bedroom habits, or at least how many went to the others bed, considering he was calling the other a tart.

“I know you have, and you’ve been patient on this.” And he did hope they liked his work, though it was fine if Rene didn’t, art was subjective really as was taste in art. There were styles he really didn’t like, especially some modern things. He did not know why a simple white canvas painted with black around it’s edges was hanging in a museum. He also was fairly certain he did not want to know, it might hurt his brain too much, but he did know that it should be burnt - it was a waste of the canvas it was on. Down the hall, past his room and the guest room and past a doorway which was open, inside a small office. He finally stopped and opened a door and pushed it open. Inside he had canvas after canvas hung on the walls, leaned against the wall, sitting on an easel and there were paints all about along with cans which likely were used for water.

He didn’t do much for people, at least not close up, they might be in the background but never so close as to need details of the face. He did landscapes but in a rather soft manner. The details and attention to the plants, small fine details to the ones closest to the front of the piece. The colors worked well together and the details to other things, the to the rest of the scene, was equal to the plants. There was a distinct rococo nature to things even if there were so few figures in his pieces. From night skies with stars and moons, dark clouds drifting past a full moon, to gardens and statues, the paintings varied but nothing was too bright. It was all softer or darker colors.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:25 pm

“Yes it’s good, if you want tips on it I can help maybe? I have enough experience in it since you don’t partake.” Sipping it slowly as he walked, he could feel that nice warm fuzzy feeling on his face against the cold of the ice pack. Watching the other walk in front and up the stairs, he could see those colors fitting them well with that blond hair of theirs.

“I think those colors sound like they fit you well, I prefer autumny colors myself.” Keeping close, he tried to take everything in so he could maybe surprise them from time to time. He’d have to see how much space they had in their greenhouse before he got them any more plants though. He’d figure it out in time, see what they liked, and what would make them smile that smile that made his heart melt. That mention of espresso, maybe he’d figure out how to make it to get them to smile a bit more. There had been enough sadness for them both in the past month and he wanted to do something to help them and himself.

Stepping inside the room that they’d led him to, he wandered it slowly and carefully. Taking in each painting, he could see they had talent and it made him laugh a bit almost where their style lay. They’d mentioned rococo in the beginning but without him seeing their work he hadn’t been sure how much it leaned that way. They were beautiful in a more traditional way than his own work and so much larger. There hadn’t been the space to paint large things and with how often he wandered that little paint kit his governess had given him when she retired had been more than enough for him to work with.

Turning to look back at them, he couldn’t help but smile more even if it made his face hurt. It was worth the wait to see such gorgeous and pristine paintings. Each one left little bits and pieces that tied themselves to their artist, Alexandre. “Everything is gorgeous Alexandre, you really are an angel.” Laughing just a bit he walked back over to them and nudged them. “I can see why it might not have been easy to bring one over though, you have a lot of rather large canvases. At least mine are hand-sized.” Leaning against them he did wonder a bit more about some things. They’d run because of fear and maybe uncertainty so he’d just have to work with that and maybe try and show them things would be fine, give a bit more information for them to bite at.

“Rene Gastinne-Rennette is my full name it might clear a bit more up though I dropped the last bit when I came here. But I don’t mind answering questions too.” Pushing that out there a bit more for them so they would maybe take the bait. “My petit ange…” Another kiss on the top of their head as he stayed close and wrapped an arm about them. He could handle this, the normal problems and worries. The rest was too much to think about for now but he wanted to see more of Alexandre and learn what he could. All the hurt and tears from the past month where he lamented over knowing so little about the one he’d fallen for and now they were actually letting him get close and step past that line. There was still that fear that they’d slip between his fingers but he tamped it down with another sip of wine as he enjoyed feeling them against him.

“Help with wine…yes, I wouldn’t mind that. I could use it for some things.” He supposed, what to buy and what to pair with foods for when he did have guests. Though he typically just let them pick for themselves, it was easier for him that way. “I do assume the wine you picked is good though, quality wise.” He did look at reviews, ratings, and price in order to figure out what to get. Looking back over his shoulder he nodded once. “I can see fall colors working for you. At least neither of us does spring or summer - too soft or too bright.” He did not do bright colors, it just wasn’t put together looking. He’d leave that to the younger generation to wear such a pallet.

“I can’t fit everything into a small canvas so I tend towards larger ones. If I ever wanted to go much larger I’d have to invade my cousin's home where she as a whole studio in her home.” Not that Fiona would mind, in fact he had a feeling she’d be overjoyed as it would mean more time spent together. Perhaps it was an idea really, even if such a large painting would take a considerable amount of time. Though what he’d paint he wasn’t sure right now, he knew he could figure that out.

“I’m far from an angel, trust me, but I am skilled in what I do. I am just lucky to be skilled in the arts because I do love them.” Considering his grandmother's home, the family estate, and its general style it was no wonder he’d fallen for this particular style of painting though Rene did not know this of course.

“I’ll look into that last name then, assuming you are inviting me to do so, petite souris.” Letting the other hold him, leaning back a bit, the ashen blond tilted his head a bit. “Mmm, alright so flowers which you prefer as well as foods, though I also should be asking favorite wine. So we’ll start with those questions.”
PostPosted: Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:29 pm

“It’ll be fun, not that you have a bad selection but sometimes it isn’t all about what the reviews are or the price.” Another sip as his face continued to warm from it, it probably didn’t help that he hadn’t really eaten since before he’d gone to the bar the night before. It would be fine though, he had Alexandre here, and that made things better.

“Oh, the matched pair right? The other little doll that I saw that day with you at the museum, I remember you telling me a bit about her. Her studio must be pretty big if she works on restoration or conservation. It would be fun to see what you might do with a larger canvas.” A little laugh, a little more wine, as he moved the ice pack to his pocket so he could wrap his other arm around them too.

“You say that but I still think you are…” They’d come back and that's what he would focus on, that's what was the important part of things. Thinking of that uniform and the words about war he chuckled a bit into their hair after another kiss. “Maybe a bit more like a Valkyrie or Seraphim, one of those fighty ones but an angel nonetheless.”

“I am, though if you’ll find much is another matter.” Swaying with them from side to side, he traced his fingers over the fabric of their shirt where he knew their ink lay underneath. “Ivy… acanthus.. maybe blue roses. I always like the language behind them and then when I saw your tattoos that first time… I couldn’t help but want to know more. To find out a bit at a time if I could and I am sorry still if that was selfish of me.” Placing his glass down on one of the small little tables nearby, he came around to face them.

“I wouldn’t mind trying whatever you feel like making, I prefer baked goods, sweet or savory, but I also really want to try all sorts of other foods. I just know veal and venison don’t really sit well with me but I’m not sure why. And wine, always French though the type is really dependent on the food but I can let you know the ones I order from back home. I sneak a bit of red here and there to work, in that hydroflask of mine but don’t tell anyone because it’s a secret.” Teasing as he leaned down to give them a proper kiss, he was happy they were asking him things back. It felt like an exchange but a very different one than what they’d had before and he was alright with that.

“You don’t drink so maybe… what kind of things do you like to do? Places you like going?” Running his fingers down the side of their face, he really had missed seeing them. He’d keep asking about things that would give him ideas on what he could surprise them with or maybe do with them. They’d been right about there being a whole bunch more to explore in this country and he wanted to see what else he might get into with them coming along too.

“Fun for you, I’m not sure how much fun I’ll have learning about wines.” Considering he didn’t drink at all, aside from the two or three times in his life where he had, he was just purchasing wines for other people. Though for Rene it would of course be fun. He’d get to pick things, and talk about wine, and Alexandre would purchase and stock the wine fridge with whatever was picked.

“Mmm, yes Fiona, my younger cousin. She has a very large art studio in her home.” Meaning she also had a large home, though a good part of it was dedicated to the art studio she possessed. “She works normally at the museum, some pieces she takes home, but on occasion she has gotten them to allow me to assist her in restoring a piece. I figure they trust me, and her, enough to allow for a non-employee to help with the task." He kept his brushes away from the faces of people, not wanting to deal with what he might mess up, but the landscapes he was comfortable with.

“I’ll take valkyrie or seraphim, though I have heard the seraphim are not as angelic to look at as the painters make them seem. The bible I hear does not depict them as such, though I would hardly know what is in the bible. I’d have to ask Lorcan, a close cousin of mine, he would likely know. His branch of the family has a clue of what is between the pages of that book…the rest of us are clueless.” His family did not do church, even Lorcan’s branch of the family, they knew the bible though and what the book said and could recite bits of it; not that anyone asked them to. But they came from a religious background whereas the rest of the family had shed that skin a very long time ago. “So maybe a valkyrie would be better suited.” Though hadn’t they all been female? He wasn’t entirely sure on that either, something to perhaps look into, but something told him he’d heard that once.

Swaying gently with the other, placing a hand of his over the others hand, he glanced towards the wine glass that had been set down. “It’s not selfish…and perhaps tonight I’ll explain why the tattoos I have, especially since I assume you like ivy because of me?” He was just guessing about that but he felt it was a good guess, and likely to be right, as he curled himself into the other's hold. Then Rene was ruining it and moving to stand in front of him and kissing him…and it was so sweet. Pressing back, kissing the other in return, his fingers grasped the others shirt before he drew away and Rene was asking questions softly.

“I like to shop, I frequent a number of small boutiques in the city as well as the designer shops. Museums and art galleries are a common place for me to visit along with gardens and arboretums.” Since he loved the arts and plants and he had enough time on his hands to visit such places, he wasn’t sure if he’d have more or less time once he finished his degree and got to working in a job that dealt with botany.

“I like cafe’s, smaller ones but if in a pinch I’ll visit a starbucks…and hope for the best. I go late night grocery shopping, to avoid the crowds of old people who either try and hit me with their cards…or can’t move and keep me stuck behind them.” There was a certain dislike, and annoyance, which crept into his voice at the last bit. He didn’t really have a tolerance for people who were so slow they couldn’t move out of someone else's way…or those who somehow failed to notice him and nearly hit him with their cart. It was a similar feeling he had for driving as well, this was why he shopped at night when all the older folks were at home sleeping or doing something else. “I am honestly rather lazy at times…but I do run every morning and sometimes in the evening as well. Leaning into the other's hands, tilting his head so the other could cup his face, he stayed there against the other oh so comfortably. “I suppose I have a mostly carefree life.” With the small bits of responsibility thrown in, especially to the Negaverse, but he was freer than most.
