Virtues:
Bold as brass: Energetic and direct, Eddie is definitely an individual who stands out from the crowd. She's honest sometimes to a fault (see Flaws below), but her honesty is usually appreciated, even treasured by her friends and colleagues. Her thinking processes are logical and well organized, as they have to be to ride herd on 4th graders, and she is often called upon to assist other teachers with difficult topics or problem students. She's broken up fights between much bigger students, stepping right into the thick of it where other teachers and staff hesitated; she's a popular teacher because of her bold attitude and the kids listen to her without question for the most part.

I've got a cunning plan: Eddie is nothing if not quick-witted, resourceful, and smart. With a rich imagination and sharp observations, she can take advantage of most of the various opportunities that pop up in her life. Overall her disposition is shrewd, obstinate, and clever, which can often drive friends and colleagues crazy (especially the obstinate part). She's something of an enigma, cunning yet willing to work with others to bring her cunning plans to fruition. Her cleverness rarely backfires on her, and when it does, she just laughs it off in true Eddie fashion. (Her favorite cartoon character is Wile E. Coyote, because she analyzes where his plans go awry and tries to come up with a solution that works.)

Brave little toaster: It takes courage to survive in the world these days, and Eddie is brave enough to face any difficulty or danger that may come up in her life. Her childhood was fraught with danger, being an only child on the run with her mother from an abusive father; she still feels some of that fear and desperation, though now it bolsters her courage to be herself and live her life her way. There's a difference between bold and brave, and she's both, in a big way. Her courage shows up in how she lives her life, boldly and without fear; she's openly gay, out and proud, riding her motorcycle with the Dykes On Bikes contingent during Pride. There's very little in the world that she's afraid of in general.

Flaws:
Opportunistic and picky: Eddie has an opportunistic attitude about a lot of things. She's more than willing to take full advantage of a situation without a second thought, once she has made up her mind on something. When it comes to shopping, she haggles like a professional trader until she gets the deal she wants, usually because nothing else really measures up to her standards. She's very particular regarding what she spends her money on; she will use a thing until it breaks, and even then if she can fix it, she'll keep using it. Her wardrobe is largely second-hand and eclectic, and her kitchen is filled with vintage utensils and dishes she inherited from her grandmother – because they work, and they're not broken, and she's too picky to find a suitable replacement.

Blunt to an extreme: Never one to hold back, Eddie will verbalize everything she knows about a situation and say it without reserve when she has the chance to speak, which she will often take without asking first. She has a sharp tongue and no qualms about using it; she can often offend people with her words if she's not careful, or worse, angry. She has made no bones in the past of speaking bluntly with the parents of the kids in her class, which has gotten her in trouble with the school principal on numerous occasions. Sometimes she'll discuss a situation with other teachers, but most of the time she just says what's on her mind without filters. Her friends know she's sharp with her words sometimes and have come to the conclusion that she doesn't mean to hurt. Even though sometimes she does.

Cut myself no slack: No one is harder on Eddie than she herself is. She is a personal perfectionist; not only is she picky about her possessions, she's picky about her own performance and attitude and body and just about everything about herself. Being held to a ridiculously high standard as a child did her no favors as an adult, and she still holds herself to standards that others might find extreme. And when she fails to live up to those standards, she is brutally hard on herself, falling into a wallow of self-doubt and depression. She's talked about this with a number of therapists, but so far none have been able to give her a satisfactory solution to her issues.

• Eddie is the proud owner of an all-black Indian Scout Sixty motorcycle, the most expensive thing she owns (followed by her grill and her fursuit). She bought it with her first paycheck from teaching, and she adores it. Accessories include black leather saddlebags, a tank pouch, and a luggage rack, all for toting her teacher's gear to school. She loves riding her motorcycle in the woods and hills outside of Destiny City, and goes on runs with other bikers regularly. The bike, named Joe, is kept in immaculate condition, receiving frequent washing and lubing.
  
  
• A fan of medieval history (it was her major in college), Eddie loves researching and studying all things medieval. She has a patch in her vegetable garden devoted to ancient and medieval plants and herbs, including some like wormwood and woad that are considered illegal in some places. She's researched other medieval things too, especially Irish things; she is fascinated by how insular ancient Ireland was able to remain for so long, despite invasions by the Norse, the Normans, and the English, and how culturally solid the country still is.
  
  
• Teaching wasn't Eddie's first choice as a career – cooking was. After a stint as a prep cook, though, she realized it wasn't for her, and fell back on her teacher's certification for a job. Turns out she loves teaching, especially teaching the younger kids; her fourth-graders are at that perfect age where they will absorb everything that's thrown at them, as long as it's presented in an entertaining fashion. Someday she'd like to do specialized teaching in history, but for now she's a happy and popular Knightside Elementary teacher.
  
  
• Eddie's also just a gal who happens to be a lesbian. Belying the stereotypes, Eddie rarely comes across as the sort of overly-butch bull dyke commonly portrayed in media, though she can totally queer it up when she wants to. She's known she was gay since she hit puberty, and her acceptance has swung between deeply closeted as a college student to flamboyantly out and proud. At this point, Eddie's at ease with who she is -- happy, well-adjusted, and completely nonchalant about her homosexuality. She doesn't let it define her, even though it is a major part of her life.
  

random likes: crispy bacon, Renaissance Faire, cats, doing yoga, EDM and trance, beer, whiskey, coffee, riding on twisty roads, swimming down at the reservoir, interesting and intelligent conversation, the LADIES heart

random dislikes: bigots and hypocrites, abusers, drugs, country music, winter (makes it hard to ride her motorcycle, but she still does it), boredom, generic anything, falling short of her own lofty expectations of herself

The Hill of Ward (called in Irish Tlachtga, pronounced TLACH-ha) lies between Athboy (to the west) and Ráth Chairn (to the east). During medieval times it was the site of great festivals, including one at which winter fires or bone fires (Tine Cnámh) were lit at Samhain, the forerunner of the modern Halloween. It is associated with the figure Tlachtga, a powerful druidess in Irish mythology who is said to have given birth to triplets on the hill. The daughter of the arch-druid Mug Ruith, she accompanied him on his world travels, learning his magical secrets and hunting for sacred stones.



Wonder:
Tlachtga is a hill fort built in a clearing in the dense forests of Cybele. The site is a quarter mile across and about 300 feet high, with a ditch fortification surrounding the base and a stone circle surmounting the top of the hill. Festivals were held here by the people of Cybele, and offerings were left by hunters who would come to wish for a successful hunt.
