Southern Cookie Cookie would like to go see the newest installment of the Indiana Jones series, but is afraid that she will be disappointed. Anyone seen it yet? True, most who watch will likely be disappointed. Even with how much I thought the movie was mediocre after seeing it. I knew that I would regret it, not going to the movies and see it.
I did like the back in time stuff and all of the end.

Already disappointed because Marion didn't actually come back as a major character, but only plays a small part at the end. Or so Cookie has read. Those 1st segements in present day explain why the character is not seen then. Also ties up alot from the 4th movie. Everyone who's not coming back. Plus, would make no sesne having her going all around the world, since it is not her fight.
Only seeing her in the end is also something that makes the movie's end. Make me think it was more moving. At is simply me and all my pink-ness. Hope I am not looking at theses Indiana Jones movies through rose colored glasses. I am a fan, subtract the 2nd from the orginial trilligy that is not in the same place in my heart as 1 and 3 is.
*Pink has to think a moment.* I'm not saying Indiana Jones stand up against Flash which was a much better throw back to the 80s. Or like Spiderverse 2 or even up to Mission Imposible (20 or whatever number) but Mission Imposible was such a fun watch too.

The film series is kind of special to Cookie, a big part of childhood and teen years. Although Harrison Ford is quite dreamy in all of them.

---Cookie's Ratings--- Cookie's Opinions Only
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 Cookie was instantly hooked! Loved the chemistry between Indiana and Marion.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 Cookie definitely enjoyed, but not quite her favorite. Although Ke Huy Quan ( Short Round ) was a definite favorite. Also loved him in The Goonies a year later as Data. Did you know that this is actually a prequel to Raiders of The Lost Ark? Cookie didn't know either.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 + Cookie's all time favorite in the series. Absolutely loved the story line. Three of her favorite actors all played in this one. Harrison Ford, of course, Cookie was hooked from the Han Solo days. River Phoenix (young Indiana) was one of Cookie's teen crushes for years. It was horrible for her when he died. Sir Sean Connery (Indiana's Dad--the OG Dr. Jones) has always been Cookie's all time favorite male actor. Cried when he passed a few years back. -FYI Cookie Crumb- River and Sean both were born the same month (odd numbered day, even numbered year) and passed on the same day of different years. River Phoenix Born: August 23, 1970 Died: October 31, 1993- Halloween! Sean Connery Born: August 25, 1930 Died: October 31, 2020-Halloween!
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008 ) Zero rating on the Cookie meter. Cookie did not enjoy this one at all. It didn't have the same feel as the other movies. Aliens? Come on Indy.? Now when Cookie says Zero Rating, it was so low that the meter wouldn't register. At all. Like all of the little crumbs at the bottom of your glass of milk. (which Cookie normally just drinks, but poured this one down the drain)
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) TBD- Not yet viewed

Have to agree with your ratings, Cookie. (Which are very cute!) Although, I do like The Temple of Doom, the best.
Last Crusade had "that" melting face scene that was so scary and gross to me, as a kid!!
I have never seen Crystal Skull. Not to sound pompous, but I could tell when it came out that it was going to be a bit naff. I'm usually good at guessing which films are gonna be fun or which ones are gonna be duds.
A lot of films nowadays are duds. :/ Now, the 80s and 90s had brill films...

Cookie thinks 80's movies are like chocolate chips. Want all the chips and chunks, gotta have them!

White Mage Rose man! that betty broderick was one crazy chick ! she killed her ex husband and his new wife while they were sleeping ... this was a movie on youtube Cookie thinks that sounds quite interesting. Cookie watched Candy a little while back and it was based on a true story. It was very good. -Cookie's Rating- 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 Candy is a crime drama miniseries starring Jessica Biel as the real-life Candy Montgomery, who was accused of brutally murdering her best friend, Betty Gore after having a love affair with Gore's husband in 1980s Texas.
Candy Montgomery is a 1980's housewife and mother who did everything right: a good husband, two kids, even the careful planning and execution of transgressions, but when the pressure of conformity builds up, her actions scream for a bit of freedom. Starring, Jessica Biel, Melanie Lynskey, Justin Timberlake and more! - FYI Cookie Crumb- Candace Lynn Montgomery is an American woman who murdered her lover's wife, Betty Gore. The killing took place in Wylie, Texas, on June 13, 1980. During the assault, Gore was struck 41 times with a wood splitting axe.
Candy, now 72, currently uses her maiden name Wheeler and is a mental health counselor with her daughter, Jenny, in Georgia. (Cookie is in Georgia) *scurries under the table*

I went to see Barbie with my sister and her silly kiddos. It was basically Ken wants to be with Barbie for a night, but every night is girls night. He's hurt, and they end up going into the real world and discovering that women are not in control like in Barbie Land. From there it gets a lil complicated for me, but he ends up looking up guy stuff and finding it super cool. so he goes back to Barbie Land and sets up a patriarchy, then Barbie comes back and is shocked and topples it and by the end she apologizes for making every night girls night.
It did go a lil over my head in parts, but there were some silly things and Barbie Land and accessories were all really cute and pretty. Will Ferrel is pretty silly as usual.
There was clearly a lot of Barbie research done, bc they had AAALL the discontinued Barbies in there. If you're a fan or collector, you need this movie.
The og creator died in 2002, but they did have a lady act as her.
it's a great movie of history and patriarchy, and woman's rights.
