Earth. It had been so strange when she first landed here. Everything looked so — so different. She heard of Earth, of course! But that had been a very, very long time ago… This was nothing like what her star maps had said! Ptolemy had walked up to the nearest door — all five feet of her with determination — and knocked. No regard to how it was midnight. No regard to how she didn’t know where this was. No regard to the fact that she was in her senshi form, either. She was lucky in that regard. Extraordinary lucky that the door she knocked on belonged to a cat cafe called Nekosuke (though she hadn’t read the sign — it was hard to read when one hadn’t done it in millennia). More than lucky that it belonged to a certain knight of Cosmos and not someone else that would have been shocked out of their wits with what was on their doorstep. Well, Yuri was quite a bit shocked. He’d ushered her in. Asked why she was transformed. Then was greeting with a head tilt like he’s just invited in a confused stray. Then she untransformed into Ptolemy. And after giving the young man a near heart attack, explained that she had just arrived on Earth. After an exasperated explanation on why she couldn’t just go around telling anyone that, she was told she was ‘new here’, according to Erytheia, though she had protested that they were certainly not and were very, very old, in fact. As Sailor Urania waited on the roof of the apartment above the cafe where she had been told to wait for another senshi like her, she kept thinking about what had been meant by ‘new’. She looked up at the moon with blue star-lit eyes as she felt the aura of another approach. She could admit it had been a very long time since she had felt the power of another like her. ❂

With word of another Senshi like him, Alastor had instinctively adjusted his plans for the evening to meet with her. He’d already intended on getting out for a bit to work out some energy, but his nighttime run turned into a rendezvous on the roof.
It wasn’t an area Alastor was unfamiliar with, if only because he spent a lot of time being lost after he’d first arrived–and a bit now, too, if he were being honest. Destiny City was large, and always changing. A month away from an area meant new stores could have moved in, and construction happened so fast that he couldn’t even rely on sight or muscle memory.
It hadn’t taken him long to arrive, and the whole trip over he hadn’t felt any troublesome energy signatures.
Tonight was a good night to plan a meeting; the Negaverse must have been done with their meddling for the day.
He saw her on the roof shortly after he felt her energy signature, and once he’d ascended one of the nearby buildings, it had taken very little time to actually reach her.
She looked normal, by Earth standards. Something he shared in common with her, and something that he supposed would ultimately make her life much easier. Well–as long as she had someone to help show her the ropes. Earth had its own strange customs and social expectations.
He raised a hand in greeting–polite on Earth and Alastor, and hopefully not an insult on her world. “I got a message that someone was waiting for me around here. I’m Alastor,” he introduced. “Are you the one I’m looking for?”

While waiting for Alastor, she looked up at the moon and then down at a strand of her hair. It was still brown. “Why? It’s starlight out. Oh,” she said as she looked up at the moon. “That is this planet’s moon. It reflects the light of its sun.”She almost didn’t notice him as he arrived — so caught up was she in the mystery. What was it about the sun that made her hair change? It was a star, was it not? “This planet’s sun! Is there something different about it?” She demanded of Alastor as if she had forgotten why she was waiting here. Then she blinked her starry eyes as if coming back to the situation at hand, slowly. “Oh! Um! Yes.”She was already getting ahead of herself and she had hardly been here an hour! “My name is Sailor Urania. I’m ‘new here’.”❂

Alastor planted his hands on his hips as he looked down at her and tapped one index finger thoughtfully. He didn’t blame her for the mental shift; when he’d first arrived, he’d been all over the place. He hadn’t even known what questions he should have had when he first landed here.
“Ah, well it’s good to meet you, Urania.” He didn’t recognize her face or name, but the universe was a large place. There were plenty of Senshi he hadn’t met yet.
She’d been looking at the moon earlier, so his eyes flicked to it briefly before returning to her face. “Is there something special about the sunlight? I can’t say that there’s anything different about it, it’s been the same as I’ve always known it. It goes up, it comes down.” Don’t stare directly into it.
Although, he’d been captivated by the sunlight on his first day here, if only because it was the first time he’d seen a clear sky in–
Too long.
He gestured to the empty space next to her. “Can I sit down with you? We can talk for as long as you like, I’ve got plenty of time.”

To her, it was strange hearing her own name again. The name of her world. It had been the last word she had heard another person speak before she had been put in stasis. Why? Why had she been put in that crystal? Because the world itself may come for you.As she thought these words, she realized she did not know how long it had been since then. “Yes! You can call me Ptolemy, if you want. Sorry about the question. I’m just used to much different skies.”Perhaps that was an understatement. She was used to a much different world. “Time? You said you had plenty of it. But what time is it now?” She suddenly turned to Alastor like she wanted to sit down, but had too much pent up energy to do so. “What year is it?”❂

Alastor nodded as she spoke but found himself quickly stalled. What year was it? He didn’t have to keep track of these things. He had a phone that kept track of things like the date. “Two thousand and something. But time is different here. It’s not the age of their world. Or even their civilization. Twenty three, I think.” He didn’t have his phone on him to check, but he felt confident enough.
“Things are very different here. From what I was used to. I’m not familiar enough with Urania to make a comparison for you though, I’m sorry. I’ve been fortunate to find myself looked after by a very responsible local. He’s guided me through this adaptation process very well. I asked my fair share of questions, you don’t have to apologize for any of them. But you’ll have to be careful with your identity here. It’s dangerous to give both names. Not to other Senshi or Knights, so much. But there’s a lot of Chaos here. Hidden amongst people who aren’t involved at all. Most people don’t know about Senshi at all, here.”
It was different from his world. He suspected Earth would be different from hers, too.
He hadn’t been able to cram all of his questions into one day and he didn’t expect her to have all of hers in one night, but if she was new here then they needed to start somewhere–and making sure she was safe and able to survive for long enough to come up with more questions was probably the best use of their time for now.

“Two-thousand. We used to use the same calendar as the Moon Kingdom on Urania, but our year follows the zodiac, There was even a clock in the Uranian castle that tracked the time… but that was destroyed…” She wanted to give a when to that, but couldn’t. All she knew was that was past. “Chaos?” There was something dark in her expression as if the sparkle had gone out of her eyes. And that is what happened, in a way. Some of the light was certainly out of them at the mention of Chaos. “It is here now, too? When I… when Chaos came to my world in the fallen stars… I had tried to find out from whence it came… but was unsuccessful.”How long had she been asleep? What had happened in that time? “They do not know of senshi here? Or have they just forgotten? What has Chaos done?”❂

Alastor nodded, though he’d never used any calendar but his own–and Sessrumnir’s, but that wasn’t really any use here. He’d visited other places but he hadn’t spent enough time to know their sense of time.
That wasn’t the important part of this conversation, anyway.
“I don’t know. I guess, there was a period of time where Earth was left to its own time, and it lost contact with the other worlds. Maybe that’s what saved them. Most of the other Senshi I’ve met were born on Earth. Their worlds died out. So Cosmos sent them here.”
There was no fondness in his voice when he spoke her name, but now wasn’t the time for old bitterness. “My world didn’t fall. A Chaos rolled in, though. Tried to destroy everything. It wasn’t strong enough.” Put up a good fight, though. “I’d been alone on my world for a while before I showed up here, but I spent some time here. I got stronger. Met people, made friends. I had help from them and we were able to destroy it. I think, if everyone could get together and make a plan here, we might be able to handle Earth’s Chaos, too. But it’s deep rooted.”
And their own forces were scattered.
He wasn’t used to working with so many people, anyway.
“What condition is your world in now?” he asked, and though he was careful not to be too abrasive, he was concerned all the same. It was a sensitive subject; it had been for him and he could only assume the same for her.

“Cosmos? She sent all the senshi here? To Earth? When —”When their worlds died out.Sailor Urania couldn’t bring herself to say that last part. It hurt too much and in a way she hadn’t expected. It was as if the floor had been taken out from under her feet. And there was nothing in all her power to keep her from falling. “The worlds… died. Was Chaos that powerful? My mother must have known that. That’s why she…” Tears started to form in her eyes. “… that’s why the queen put me in stasis and used the king’s last power to help her do so.”She could barely bring herself to say the words mother and father. Their loss pained her too much. She had not known at the time why her mother had cast that spell. When it hit her, it was too late to ask why. She must have known that she stood no chance as she was against Chaos. She’d simply tried to save her daughter. “My world. It’s shattered. It is as if many, many years have past and it has grown old. But it still lives.”❂

The wetness in her eyes seemed to shine brighter than the moon in the sky, and even with all those years he’d had to steel himself, Alastor still felt the same way. It was like the components inside of him shifted. Something in the pit of his stomach sank a bit, for her.
He drew in a deep breath, like that would float all the pieces inside of him back to where they were supposed to be.
It didn’t, but it was close enough.
“I’m sorry,” he said first. It wasn’t his fault, he knew it. She knew it. No one else was here to apologize for it though.
He could peace together a few things. Her mother–the queen, he supposed. He guessed that the king was her father. He didn’t know if he should address her as a princess, but she hadn’t asked for that so he didn’t try.
“I have met others who were put into stasis as well. I can’t imagine what it must be like to wake up and have to put together all of the pieces.” He’d seen his world decline. He couldn’t imagine going to sleep one day and waking up to find it in ruins.
“Their worlds are beaten down, but alive, as well. In danger, though. The Chaos on my world was festering, polluting everything. I’ve heard that others have seen similar things on their own. I don’t know how much damage has been done, but there’s still hope. I’ve been working on getting my world’s health back up–it’s doing better than I’ve seen in centuries and it’s only been a few months. If your world is shattered, you can fix it. You’ll find help here. I’ll help, however I can.”
It wouldn’t bring back everything that she’d lost, but he wanted her–and her world–to have a future. He didn’t want her to have to fight for that alone.

“You have met others like me?” She replied as if she was indeed a unicorn, some creature that the world had long forgotten. But, no, that was not it. There were still senshi, just on Earth and not in the stars. And if there were still sailor guardians in the world, there was still hope. “How many senshi have you met here? And have all their worlds been touched by Chaos, too?” Urania tried to recall what Chaos had done to her world, but she had come back home so late, back then. But what of now? “But you are speaking of the present.” Although, she still wasn’t quite sure how long there was between the past and the present time. “When I awoke, not only did my world look like time had passed, but there was also a location that I could not access. — the Observatory. It as if a dark force keep me away from it.”❂

There was no telling which question was any more important than the others, so Alastor was determined to answer them all with as much detail as he could.
“I’ve met others. I’ve met some that have been alive for hundreds of years–that watched the Chaos erode their world. I’ve met some that were put in stasis and woke up to it.” He didn’t seem to think either was a better option, but they were still alive. “Most of the Senshi here were born here. Their worlds faded and all life was lost. There was no way to awaken where they should have. But here, Earth is thriving. I don’t know if Chaos touched all worlds to bring about their downfall, I only know that Earth is the only world with any thriving civilization. I’m sure there are still people out there,” he insisted. “I’m looking for them on Alastor. We had bad storm–the Chaos worsened them–for years, so I’m sure they’re well protected and hiding. It’s only a matter of time before I find them, though. Now that the Chaos is gone, things have cleared up.”
But, this wasn’t about him–not any more than to reassure that no matter what destruction she’d faced on her world, he had high hopes that it could be saved.
“I don’t know how long it’s been since you went to sleep, or woke up again. It’s been a thousand or so years since the fall of the Silver Millennium, by Earth–and Moon–time. I don’t know if that helps you. If there is a Chaos on your world, it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what was trying to keep you out of your Observatory. Do you have something important there?”

“Senshi awoke here instead of on their own worlds?” For a moment, it seemed she was going to get sad again. She was processing the fact that Chaos had done quite a number on this solar system, after all, as well as literally everything else in the Galaxy, it seemed. But when one was about to give into despair of the situation, something else sparked inside of her. Curiosity. “I wonder why here — on Earth.” She emphasized, a curious lilt to her voice. “There must be something about this place that held off Chaos where the other worlds couldn’t.”It took her a moment to come back to the conversation about her own world being thus distracted by cosmic mysteries. “So, it’s been a thousand years, huh? Makes sense that my world is shattered, then. It hasn’t had the magic from the Castle in all that time. Castle Ourania was destroyed. It housed the Ward that prevented unwanted space debris from hitting Urania. It’s one of the complications that living in the main asteroid belt can bring. But the Observatory still stands. That houses the Veil. And that is the magic that makes the stars visible despite the sun on Urania. Which means…”The light was beginning to come back into her eyes. “…there must be something in the Observatory the dark force was trying to keep me from. The Veil is broken, yet the Observatory still stands. And that wouldn’t make sense without something interfering — you’re right, that’s got to be where the Chaos is located!”❂

Alastor saw that spark in her eyes. He saw the fire burning. She had something to keep her going, something to work towards. She had somewhere to start.
She had something to fight for, something to discover. Something to save.
“That sounds like a good lead, Urania.”
He meant it. He’d been lucky that the Chaos he’d chased out of the Hall had only wandered into the forest. He didn’t know if he’d have been able to hunt it down if it had strayed further than that.
“I don’t know why everyone’s come to Earth but I’m inclined to believe that there is something special about this world. You’ll be able to regain your strength here. We can find a Mauvian, they’ve got technical devices here that let you travel back and forth from your world with the press of a button, so you can check in on things back home while you’re getting stronger here. And, if the Chaos on your world is as strong as mine was…you’ll need help. But there’s a lot to be offered here. I don’t understand everything about Earth, but I think it’s a good place to wind up.”
…Even if they had the Negaverse to deal with, he wouldn’t have been able to save Alastor if he hadn’t found his way here first.

“I think there is something special about this place, too.” Urania said as she looked up at the stars. “I can’t wait to learn more about this planet.”There was going to be quite a lot to learn. “Well, that’s a plan, then. Find a Mauvian. Befriend some allies. And learn about Earth!”❂
