History: Ezra has always longed for something more than the quiet farming town she grew up in, though put her family before her own Pokemon journey. Being an only child, her parents needed the extra help on the ranch. When she did express the need to travel, her parents were understanding and began the process to downsizing. It took almost two years to find proper homes for the Pokemon they knew they wouldn't be able to handle without help, but they eventually did. Ezra's parents sent her off with their blessings and well wishes. She wasn't sure where she wanted to start her journey. She'd saved enough to travel anywhere. She eventually settled on Alola, and would go from there.

She arrived in Alola and immediately went to go see Professor Hisui. Once he presented her with her choice of three starters, she chose Popplio. Its demeanor seemed perfect for her first Pokemon. Curiously, she began receiving gifts from... she wasn't sure who, or why. They came in the form of items and even Pokemon! Before the end of her first day, she'd received more than a full team worth of Pokemon. Separate from all those gifts, was an electronic delivery from her parents. Her Leafeon, Sunny, had grown depressed since she left home over a week ago to travel. Worried for her health, they'd sent Sunny herself, who was absolutely ecstatic to be reunited with Ezra.
With her team put together, Ezra is training to battle her first gym. But when Brigid faints in a battle against another trainer, she's starting to doubt herself. After a call from an old friend, she decides to head to Kanto, where she might have an easier time (and find some much-desired fashionable exclusives from her favorite brand).
As Ezra arrives in Kanto, torn between wanting to explore and wanting to rush to Pewter City, she's surprised to find Sunny had been found with two eggs on the train.

Brigid lead the way out to find another wild Pokemon to battle. Ezra had no idea why she was so insistent on becoming stronger, but she ultimately didn't mind, as long as the Ponyta wasn't being mean or cruel. Otherwise, she rather enjoyed Brigid's confidence and attitude.
The group continued through a park, Mellan having fun climbing all over Ez's shoulders then jumping down to run around with Barry. Brigid stopped to turn her head and snort at them. "You two are going to scare everything off if you don't stop," she snapped. Ezra frowned, picking up Mellan to keep him on her shoulders. "They're just playing, there's no reason to get snippy," she chided. The Ponyta snorted again, stomping a hoof before continuing. She hadn't taken two steps before a Nidran popped out of a nearby bush. Before Ezra could give an order for battle, Brigid shot a Psychic at it, downing it instantly.
Ezra frowned at Brigid, but threw a Pokeball to catch the poor creature. "Brigid, I know you're unhappy, but this is getting a little crazy. Why don't you take a break for a while." She withdrew Brigid back into her Pokeball, and sent the newly caught Nidoran to the PC. "Right.... Well, let's head on towards Pewter, then," she told the rest of the team. She was worried about Brigid - she wasn't used to quite as much sass.
