(( Time wise - take place shortly after this. )) Daylight seemed almost safer these days to the Mauvian. Illyria found that wandering around in the day provided her a sense of security that she couldn't completely find at night. Even though at night was when she could probably be considered the safest with all the auras of powered individuals around. It wasn't that she didn't trust approaching anyone for help it was more she was scared to do so. The night held many wonders but also, as Illyria had found out, many dangers as well. At least with the harsh light of day could one feasibly spot said dangers from a distance and merely decide to avoid them. In her current state of mind Illyria was one of those that would decide to avoid any such thing that would put her in the path of such oncoming developments.
Feeling at least invigorated by the sun's rays did Illyria at least attempt to be as normal as a young cat could be. She had found a perfect resting place where the rays of the sun was tempered by the cool spray coming off from a fountain as she lazed about. Her gaze took in the citizens of Destiny City that seemed for all intents and purposes to be enjoying a nice weekend afternoon off at a park. She envied them. Most seemed content and the young Mauvian wished to experience a sense of that normalcy that she had once had. But she gave a rueful twitch of her whiskers. Life was much more interesting when you were secretly fighting in an intergalactic struggle for dominance. It just sucked that there were pitfalls that opened up under one's feet that could swallow you up if you were not careful.
Rising to her paws did Illyria give a passing soft mew to a young boy that stopped to reach out to scratch her ears before being towed away by his watchful father. The brief contact soothed her soul just a little before she continued to just watch those that passed her by.xxShanyume Hopefully this works for a start

Summer was at an end and Fall was rolling in steadily. The shift in temperature wasn’t as drastic as it had been in some years, but Breanna felt it more acutely than her sister did. The more comfortable Fiona was going outside, the worse off Bri was and vice versa. Perhaps a bit of a residual effect of being the Senshi of Heat and the Senshi of Cold, but their jobs and lifestyles only enhanced this further. Either way, even though it was only September, Brianna found herself already wearing a long sleeve cardigan, a rich rusted orange color, and a dark blue pair of jeans. She emerged from the grocery store with a bag of fresh produce that hung from her elbow as adjusted one of her earbuds before embarking on a short walk through the park just to get some steps in. Her goal was fifteen-thousand and according to her Fitbit she was still about three-thousand off. Music turned up so that the rest of the world didn’t exist, she walked a brisk pace, just quick enough to get her heart rate up but not enough to leave her winded. Body moving to the beat of each song; not quite dancing but definitely not walking completely straight either, this went on for about twenty-three minutes before she caught sight of a familiar face. “Illyria?” Briana stopped, and removed one of her earbuds as she watched a young boy reach out to pet her but was abruptly pulled away by a parent. Aww…The grocery bag she carried was set down for a brief moment as she shrugged her small backpack off and pulled out her phone to turn the music off and look something up online. Quote: Search: Geochaching Destiny CityA couple of different results came up but she wasn’t sure which one Illyra preferred to use and so she walked over to the precious Mauvian and took a seat beside her. “There are still a few hours in the day... Sure wish I had someone to go treasure hunting with.” Breanna smiled and set the phone down in front of the guardian cat to see if she might be able to guess who she was since the last time they last saw each other was while she was powered.

At first Illyria could only stare forlornly after the child that had been towed away. It didn't make sense. She technically she was a cat with no owner, but that didn't make her a stray, did it? She had residences that she could stay at so she wasn't abandoned. Her gaze took in the child's father before giving a small sigh and allowing her tail to twitch back and forth in her frustration. Fine be that way. I hope your son doesn't turn out like you, was the one thought that went through her mind as her gaze narrowed at the retreating pair. Figuring that it was probably time to at least find something else to do besides people watch Illyria stretched. Of the three things that she appreciated doing in her spare time two seemed out of the question while she was alone; for the time being at least.
Even as she began to give her ears a brisk grooming did her flopped over appendages pick up the sound of a plastic bag's rustling as it was sat down on the ground. Her ears twitched in automatic response to the noise and her gaze locked on the form of a young woman that had stopped to fiddle with her phone. Assuming that the one that she now watched would simply resume her trek after figuring out what it was she was doing with her phone was complete Illyria let her gaze travel to the far side of the park.
If she had been paying better attention to the scene in front of her Illyria would have noticed that the woman, instead of going about her business, had instead moved closer to her. The proximity of one so close to her caught the Mauvian by surprise and her body puffed up in surprise as she hastily darted to the side to put a small amount of distance between herself at the young woman. The seemingly suddenness of the move had caught her off guard. Slowly though Illyria realized that the person now sitting beside her on the fountain's ledge wasn't trying to attack and she allowed her stance to relax before listening attentively to what was being said. The phone that had been placed down in front of her was open to a search of geocache sites for the city and Illyria's whiskers twitched. Who had she taken on a geocache hunt? Knowledge bloomed in her mind and she gave this girl a long, hard look before padding over to her and butting her side with her head. She now suspected that this person wasn't a stranger at all, but someone that she knew. Illyria would have wanted more than anything to confide in a friend - but even as she stared down at the screen again warning bells sounded in her mind.
No matter how much she wanted to she couldn't just say hello. Not at the current moment. Illyria instead focused on the phone's screen again before gently trying to bat at the device before she stepped over it and onto the civilian's lap. She was trying to clearly say, "I know you but I can't say anything right now," but with her actions alone. A slow rolling purr cascaded through her tiny body as she moved to find a more comfortable position.

“It’s been a while Illyria,” Bre traced a finger along one of the mauvian’s folded ears. “There’s still enough time in the day if you’re up for having ourselves a little adventure.” A couple of hours at least which should allow them enough time to find one, if not two if they moved quickly. “Do you think you could find one for us that would allow us to talk freely?” Even at a distance, it was hard to miss the disappointment in Illyria’s eyes when she was left to sit here watching as the world moved on around her. Too many were on cellphones, talking away endlessly to someone neither here nor there, completely oblivious to the kitten patiently waiting for a friendly face or kind smile.

If there had been any doubt in her mind about who this civilian was, the familiar sensation of a fingertip tracing along her ear erased the notion that she had a case of mistaken identity in an instant. Even as her whole body was wracked by a giant shiver at the phantom sensation she gave a glance to the phone's screen again before peering up at this young woman's face. Her back paws found purchase enough in order for her to stand up and pat her front paws gently on her friend's shoulder. She had found caches around here before but there would be no challenge in finding a cache that had already been found once. Her gaze swung back and forth before she leaped off of the woman's lap and moved a short distance away.
Illyria was careful to avoid being trod on as she stood statue-like before mewing loudly and whipping her tail back and forth impatiently. If civilian Eleonora couldn't understand "cat" then she had a feeling it would be a longer session then Ele would be out longer than she planned. She had a feeling that she could have a conversation with the senshi of heat if they could only get away from the crowds.
There wasn't an exact buoyancy in her paw steps as she moved a little further along but at least with someone watching her back Illyria felt as if she could actually enjoy this expedition.

“I’m coming, I’m coming!” Bri hastily put her earbuds away in their little container and zipped the backpack shut to keep them safe. She then grabbed her bag of groceries and hustled after the mauvian before she could get too far ahead. Illya was lucky in that her smaller form made it easier to maneuver between people whereas she nearly got shoulder checked by a jogger that had no intent on slowing when she accidentally stepped in their way. Rude- Breanna thought and nearly, for one immature moment, stuck her tongue out at them. Not entirely their fault but she was irritated at them nonetheless. “Are we going to one you’ve been to before or one you’ve been looking for recently?”

Too bad she hadn't thought of a way to communicate signals with others yet while among civilians. Illyria simply continued to lead her friend away from the general gathering areas before coming to a small area that seemed relatively free of anyone that could be in hearing range. As soon as the Mauvian realized that the coast was clear she rushed back to her friend's side and twined around the legs of the civilian that was Eleonora. On one such pass she arced up to have a greater reach before settling down. Her gaze peered around before she took the risk to speak, "There are caches around here that I've found before so those wouldn't pose a challenge but if you let me see your phone screen again I can look at the list on one of those sites. I'm sure there's more out there that even I haven't found."
Illyria paused before her tail flicked back and forth as she peered at Eleonora in this form. "So what can I call you when you are like this?"
She wanted to make more acquaintances and she was in desperate need of a distraction of sorts.

“You can call me Breanna, but everyone usually calls me Bri.” The only time someone used her full name was when they either were new acquaintances or she was in trouble for something. With a swipe of her finger across the screen, she unlocked her phone and crouched down so Illyria could see. “I wasn’t sure what links could be trusted for something like this.” Seemed like it could be used as an easy way to lure people to a secluded area to drain energy from them. Then again- she might have been around too many chaos auras as of late which made her more skeptical of things than she would have otherwise been. “But if there’s one you use often I wouldn’t mind bookmarking it for future reference.”

"Bri, short for Breanna. Got it."
Even as Bri crouched down and unlocked her phone once more Illyria gazed at the gadget before scanning the sites that had come up with Bri's earlier search. Recognizing at least two sites that had popped up in the search the Mauvian attempted to interact with the phone's screen and huffed in annoyance when nothing seemed to happen. She assumed it was because the screen didn't recognize the touch that she attempted to give in order to do something more with the device. Instead she looked to Bri before blinking slowly. "The second site from the top I've often used to find caches located mostly within the city limits. If I want more of a challenge I often use the third site from the top. It's more for intermediate to hard caches to locate and they are not always the easiest to find."
Illyria almost hoped that Bri would pick from the third site but if her friend was still not used to cache hunting then the second site would be the safest bet if success was to be guaranteed more easily.
"I've not been hunting in a while but I do have supplies still with me if we happen to locate a cache. I'm not sure if you've found any without me since learning ... but you'd pick a cache and download the GPS coordinates given into your phone or a GPS device in order to find the approximate location. Then we'd follow any hints or clues associated with that cache's description."

Unfortunately, all Breanna had with her was some perishable food that she had just bought and a packet of gum that was in her backpack with her earbuds, and a small planner which- if it wasn’t that she had already used several pages, she could have probably left that in exchange. Mental note for later; bring trinkets with me, if this was to evolve into a regular thing, then Bri needed to make sure she brought her own little treasure to leave behind instead of relying on Illyria’s stash.
“Would you say that the cache that we found last time would be considered intermediate? Or was that one probably an easy one but only seemed hard because we were hunting for it at night?” She remembered having to look under benches and between bushes until Illya finally found it. “I wouldn’t mind doing one that difficulty again.”

“Would you say that the cache that we found last time would be considered intermediate? Or was that one probably an easy one but only seemed hard because we were hunting for it at night?”Illyria's ears twitched at Breanna's question before she fell silent to think about the cache that they had found together. How would she have classified it? Thinking back on the size and relative location of the cache and where it had been hidden Illyria's gaze turned upward to glance at the sky before remembering which site she had found that listing on. It had been a bit of a trickier cache to locate but it had appeared on the first site that she had made mention of. She listened to the rest of Bri's query before her tiny body paced back and forth.
"That cache's listing was on the first site that I mentioned. I have a feeling it was supposed to be easier to find but there's a chance that whomever had found it before we did could have flubbed a number on the new coordinates which would have thrown off anyone searching. But sometimes the time of day also makes geocaching a bit harder. At night you don't get to see those tell-tale signs that one might try keeping a look-out for."
Illyria had always saved her harder cache hunts for the daylight hours. Even with her better vision during the night sometimes it wasn't enough to pick up the smallest hints that the sun could highlight.
Illyria glanced back to the screen again before peering up at Breanna. "So if you want the same level of difficulty as the last one we found you should go with the first site. But if you have the time and determination - we could try finding a cache from the second website."

“I think the same level of difficulty would be best this time.” Breanna held up her bag of groceries, and with a rueful smile added, “It’s my turn to make dinner so I can’t stay out too too late. My sister gets off work in about an hour and a half.” On nights Fiona had to work late she often tried to have something made so that her sister didn’t need to go pick up pizza or waste time getting some cheap fast food. “You’re welcome to come over and join us if you’d like.” She offered. Illyria was a friend and one that Brianna hadn’t had an opportunity to introduce to Fiona yet.

Illyria gave Breanna's bag of groceries an inquiring look even as she gauged the amount of curiosity about what was contained within as her stomach gurgled. Food would be nice but at the same time she pushed down the feeling of acceptance and instead gave a cattish grin to the young woman. "Pick the first site then and if I can I'll find a cache that we can hunt down. It shouldn't be too hard. Who knows - there could even be something listed nearby. The site gets updated everyday at noon. I've not been out much the last little bit so there could be new listings that I'm not even aware of."
Discreetly checking the space around them Illyria summoned her trusty GPS locator before nudging it to sit on the ground in front of her. They'd need it and probably something similar from Breanna if they were to find a new listing fairly quickly.
Here Illyria twitched her tail in thoughtful consideration before adding softly, "if my presence won't be a burden for when you do wish to invite me over, I'll gladly come."

“You are never a burden, Illyria.” Breanna’s heart quite literally wrenched at the thought of it or that the little mauvian would ever think that of herself. It almost made her want to ask who had hurt her in the past to make that sort of comment. Almost… Instead, she stashed the question away for later and turned to her phone to pick a place nearby. Right now was a time for fun and finding treasure, not dwelling on sad memories. “How about this one?” Breanna turned the phone around so Illyria could see. “Looks like it’s at the shopping center somewhere near the commons area.” A place where smaller street fairs would pop up. Not quite the size of the Star Festival but still fun to go to.

It definitely was a relief to hear that she wouldn't be a burden if she chose to accept a dinner invite from Breanna down the road. Her gaze turned pensive for another quick minute before she brightened as Breanna managed to find a suitable cache that they'd be able to hunt for. Looking at the description and the coordinates Illyria turned back to her gps unit and entered the cache's last marked coords before making sure she had the numbers in correctly.
Giving her unit a moment to process the data she wrinkled her whiskers as a thought occurred to her. If this cache was near the mall then she'd have to act like a pet and she wasn't sure of how busy it would be. She nudged Breanna's leg before twining around and meowing softly. "I'll have to play at belonging to you I think if we go for this cache. Just in case there's eyes watching that would want to scoop up a cat that looks like it's got no owner," she paused before adding, "but the cache is one I've not seen before so it'll make it fun for the both of us if we can find it."
