                                                                ███████ VAMPIRES GENERAL
                                                                This is the Characters section. This is where I will explain the strengths, weaknesses, and rules of the Vampire/Kindred race. Please read this carefully. If you have any questions or confusions, please do send them to me, so that I may make this section as comprehensive as possible.

                                                                ███████ THE STORY OF CAINE:
                                                                No one knows if it’s true. No one even knows where the story came from. But I’ll tell you like I told everyone else. Goes like this…

                                                                Long ago–during the fledgling days of the Babylonian Exile–there lived the First Men. The first natural born sons of earth. The sons of Adam, and Eve. The first brothers; the men called “Caine,” and “Abel.” God so loved his creations that they gave them bountiful land upon which to farm, and forage. Abel took upon the role of “farmer,” and Caine chose the role of “hunter.” God gave them fields of healthy livestock; and forests as rich in splendor as they were welcoming. For many years they lived in peace, and harmony. With both the world and each other. That is, until, the sons came upon their 20th year.
                                                                God created a woman; Lilith. A raven-haired beauty whose kindness and compassion were matched only by her courage. This woman helped Abel to tend to his animals. She helped Caine to strip his leather. She tended to wounded animals and she gave all of herself to whatever she was tasked with. A truly remarkable soul. Before long, both brothers fell in love with Lilith; and in time she came to love one of them in turn. She chose Caine. To spend her starlit nights in the forest with the one she loved.
                                                                Abel was distraught by her choice; and yet he knew that he could not violate the laws or decrees set forth by God. So, in a fit of desperate jealousy, Abel beseeched God for a contest of faith; and God agreed. The Lord demanded that each son offer him a tribute; and that whichever was greater would be hailed. That the victor would have Lilith’s hand in marriage. Caine spared no quarter. He brought his finest wolven pelts, the most succulent fruits, the most potent of medicinal herbs, and prime cuts of fresh meat. Abel, in turn, brought forth the leather from his cattle, his aged cheeses, his best milk, and a live sow runt. God looked upon these offerings and–for reasons which remain unknown–declared Abel the victor.
                                                                Caine was devastated. He searched all throughout the forest to find Lilith, but to no avail. When night fell he opted to return home. Yet along the way he stumbled across Abel and Lilith. The woman–once kind, brave, proud, valorous–was now merely a shell of her former self. What personality and desires she once possessed were gone. She was a pale imitation of what she once was. God had purged her of any individuality. A soulless slave to the desires of her new husband Abel.
                                                                Caine surrendered himself, then, to his fury. Without thought, he tore the jawbone from a beast that no longer walks this earth, and violently stabbed his brother to death; becoming the First Murderer. God witnessed this act of bloodied malice; and appeared before Caine. “Son of Adam,” the voice bellowed unto him, “ye have sullied the Garden. Ya have corrupted Man with Murder. By my word; I curse ye. To walk the earth for eternity. To know no peace. To devour your children; and whosoever shall attempt to end your life; may they, in turn, suffer sevenfold.”
                                                                Caine had no control over what it was he became. Not at first. He turned into The Beast, a pure expression of ravenous hunger, and went into a murderous frenzy. His first victim was what remained of his beloved Lilith. By the time he returned to a conscious state, he stood in the rivers of blood he’d made while berserk. Plagued by madness. Drowning in sorrow. Hounded by the hand of God himself…Caine left his home, then.
                                                                It is said that, in his ennui, he traveled to the city of Enoch. From there he discovered his ability to create more monsters like himself. Within the next decade he created six immortal monsters like himself. Six unique sons and daughters–each possessing different traits of the curse they were now bound to–called “Antediluvians.” The Six Antediluvians who first gave birth to the Six Clans. However, Caine discovered that–unlike himself–these Childer of his were vulnerable to the wrath of the Sun. They were forced to live in darkness, and in shadows.
                                                                It's said that Caine grew tired of living. Others say that he was found by one of the great leaders of history (Alexander the Great, Attilla the Hun, etc.) and finally killed. Others still claim that Caine never existed in the first place. That becoming a vampire is merely the next step in human evolution, or some rare viral mutation that’s spread throughout mankind. No one knows for sure. We only know that Kindred do exist; and maybe–just maybe–Caine did too.

                                                                ███████ THE EMBRACE:
                                                                All Kindred begin the same; we are all born by the hand of another. “The Embrace,” we call it. This is done by a Kindred (vampire) drinking a human's blood until they are on the edge of death. After doing so, the Kindred then feeds the human a small amount of their own cursed blood. Then, the Kindred allows the human to die. This is called "First Death." If the human is strong enough in will–in spirit–then they will survive, and awaken after the following sunset. Reborn as a monster. An eternal bond is formed then and there between the one who was Embraced, and the one who gave them the gift of Unlife. The "Sire," the Kindred who did the deed, will forever have a powerful influence over the mind and heart of his "Childer," the one who was transformed. It requires a great deal of willpower to defy the orders of your Sire.


                                                                ███████ GENERATIONS :
                                                                When a Sire performs the Embrace, the subsequent Childer is then one generation further from their Sire. For example. If a 7th Generation Embraces a human, than the Childe that is born is an 8th Generation Kindred. If that same Childe later on Embraces a human of their own, the subsequent Childer is a 9th Generation Kindred. With each generation the Cainite Blood is diluted; and the Kindred is less powerful. Any Kindred lower than the 10th Generation is called a “Thin Blood.” Make note that Generations DO MATTER. The older a Kindred is, the stronger they are, and that’s just the long/short of it.

                                                                ███████ THIN BLOODS :
                                                                Shunned and segregated by Kindred society at large. Thin Bloods are the “lepers” or “mutants” of Kindred society. The dilution of the curse through so many generations has caused their bodies to only somewhat acclimate to it. They lack the superhuman strength, speed, agility, and senses of those in previous generations. It is rare for a Thin Blood to have even one discipline, and impossible for them to have two or three. However, they are still extremely useful, and are even capable of walking in sunlight. They must feed like any Kindred but only once every two months. They can go places Kindred can’t dare to travel.

                                                                ███████ THE MASQUERADE:
                                                                Every Kindred--regardless of their Clan or allegiance--is bound by the laws of "The Masquerade." “The Masquerade" can be summarized as Kindred common sense. "Do nothing that endangers the secret of Kindred existence. Humans can never know we exist; else they rise up against us all." If you're caught on video outrunning a car going down the highway? You've broken the Masquerade. If you're caught feeding on a human? You've broken the Masquerade. If you're detected using your powers or abilities in any way, shape, or form? You've broken the Masquerade. By now I'm sure you're wondering, "so what if I break the Masquerade, I'm a Vampire, who's going to stop me?"

                                                                Enter "The Camarilla." Sharp suits, tailored-hairstyles, and a total lack of compassion. You can think of the Camarilla as "vampire government." They are led by the High Council; a quartet of 6th Generation Elders that are as old as time, and so elusive that no one knows their names or faces. Beneath the Council, are the "Princes." Each Prince governs over a particular region of the country, and commands a vast number of Camarilla operatives. The most dangerous of these operatives are the right-hand enforcers of the Prince’s: the Camarilla "Sheriff's."

                                                                Sheriff's are the Camarilla enforcers. They are old, powerful, and their minds have been all but erased by the Elders of the Camarilla. Making them ruthless and merciless instruments by which the Camarilla may enforce it's infallible laws. This is one of the most vital pieces of information for all Kindred to remember;

                                                                "If you violate the Masquerade, the Camarilla will know, and they will send their Sheriff's for you. The Sheriff will not negotiate, and will not bargain. It will slaughter anyone it believes to be affiliated with you; before ultimately delivering you unto Final Death. All Sheriffs are at least 5th Generation creatures. They will be impossible for you to stop…on your own."


                                                                ███████ POLITICAL FACTIONS :
                                                                + Camarilla: The Camarilla is as feared as they are despised by the global Kindred community. Much like any human government, this organization is rife with corruption, avarice, and ambition. Many theorize that the Elders leading the group are long dead, and that some greedy imposter has taken over their command. Others say the Elders are still in existence, but they’ve all gone mad from so many year shut away from the world. Regardless of whether these are true, the Prince’s continue to serve the orders they are given. They continue to enforce the laws of the Masquerade, often using that line to disguise the horrible, underhanded, and evil things they seek to accomplish in the shadows.
                                                                + Anarchs: Leather jackets, bandanas, and a complete lack of f***s to give. Anarchs are vampires who reject the status quo of Kindred society. The resulting organization of anarchs is called the Anarch Movement. The Anarchs do believe in the Masquerade. However, they don’t see the Camarilla as necessary. They believe that Kindred society should be free to enforce itself, as a private/free militia would, and that the Camarilla is only out for world domination. These rebellious youthful Kindred fancy themselves as revolutionaries.
                                                                + Sabbat: Ragged, blood-soaked, and almost always dressed in red. The Sabbat is a loose organization of Kindred who reject the Traditions of the Camarilla as well as the Anarchs. Unlike the Camarilla, the Sabbat believes in the Antediluvians and Caine. They’re also referred to as the Sword of Caine, as they believe they will be the army Caine will use to destroy the Antediluvians once he rises up, and Gehenna arrives.
                                                                + Kuei-Jin: [[ Exclusive Race // Private Faction ]] Kuei-Jin are vastly different from the vampires you’re familiar with. The type of vampire who turns to ash in the sun and feeds on blood is called a “Cainite,” or “Kindred.” This is not to be confused with the Kuei-Jin. Kuei Jin do not turn to ash in the sun; but it is still dangerous to them. Instead of turning to ash, the Kuei-Jin become shriveled husks, returning to the corpse form they occupied before returning to the land of the living. Nor do Kuei Jin feed on blood; instead, they feed on “Chi.” The very life force, the very energies which compel a living thing to endure.

      ███████ VAMPIRE CLANS
      Below, you will find a list of Kindred Clans, as well as their associated traits/disciplines. Beyond that, you will find a list of universal vampire weaknesses. There aren't really specific weaknesses to each clan. But for example. A Brujah with Celerity and Potence could easily overpower a Toreador, who also has Celerity, but no physical abilities to increase their strength. Alternatively, a Toreador can easily outmaneuver a Brujah in a public setting, because the Brujah lacks the ability Presence, and is therefore much harder to hide from prying human eyes. Every Clan has it's advantages, so choose wisely.

      ███████ CLAN BRUJAH
      »»» TRAITS: The tough guys of Kindred society, Brujah are well-built, and often quite prideful.
      »»» DISCIPLINES: Celerity, Potence, Presence
      »»» CELERITY: The Brujah endows himself with remarkable speed, capable of moving at over a hundred miles an hour on foot, and deliver strikes that the human eye could not possibly perceive.
      »»» POTENCE: The Brujah endows himself with great strength, capable of hurling small cars at enemies, and break down brick walls with his fists.
      »»» PRESENCE: The Brujah conjures a terrifying presence, intimidating all humans around him into a state of near-subservience, and terrifying his weaker enemies.

      ███████ CLAN GANGREL
      »»» TRAITS: Gangrel are rebellious, and often criminals. They live carefree, and don't really care for belonging to anything.
      »»» DISCIPLINES: Animalism, Fortitude, Protean
      »»» ANIMALISM: The Gangrel communes his very soul with nature, and embraces his primal nature. Allowing them to communicate with, influence, and control animals
      »»» FORTITUDE: The Gangrel endows himself with remarkable fortitude, thickening his skin into a hide that can block even small-caliber bullets, and brush off small blades.
      »»» PROTEAN: The Gangrel embraces his most animalistic side, and his physical body reflects it. The Gangrel takes on attributes of the animal it most closely relates to, and is capable of feats similar to those the animal might display.

      ███████ CLAN MALKAVIAN
      »»» TRAITS: Malkavian is the Clan of Madness. To become Malkavian is to immediately surrender a portion of your character's sanity. They will forever be cursed to hear voices, see things, and to even occasionally speak in maddened riddles.
      »»» DISCIPLINES: Dementation, Auspex, and Obfuscate.
      »»» DEMENTATION: The Malkavian's Madness is something so profound that they can even share it with others. Dementation allows the Malkavian to corrupt the minds and hearts of others. Infecting them with paranoia, fear, hostility, or whatever else the Malkavian may need in the moment.
      »»» AUSPEX: The Malkavian is capable of enhancing it's senses beyond the boundaries of it's physical form. To sense life through walls, and even sense danger a moment before it strikes.
      »»» OBFUSCATE: The Malkavian commands the power of shadow. Enveloping itself in darkness, moving unseen, and becoming all but invisible in low-light areas.

      ███████ CLAN TOREADOR
      »»» TRAITS: Even the ugliest human--once Embraced--can become beautiful as Toreador. These breathtaking Kindred are sculpted from dreams, and are often the artists, and celebrities of human society.
      »»» DISCIPLINES: Auspex, Celerity, Presence
      »»» AUSPEX: The Toreador is capable of enhancing it's senses beyond the boundaries of it's physical form. To sense life through walls, and even sense danger a moment before it strikes.
      »»» CELERITY: The Toreador endows itself with remarkable speed, capable of moving at over a hundred miles an hour on foot, and deliver strikes that the human eye could not possibly perceive.
      »»» PRESENCE: The Toreador conjures a terrifying presence, intimidating all humans around it into a state of near-subservience, and terrifying it's weaker enemies.

      ███████ CLAN TREMERE
      »»» TRAITS: Tremere are the Blood Mages of Kindred society. Their Clan is extremely secretive, and to betray their guarded knowledge to anyone is to incur their merciless wrath. They are often the professors, teachers, and doctors of human society.
      »»» DISCIPLINES: Thaumaturgy, Auspex, Dominate
      »»» THAUMATURGY: The Tremere is capable of using ancient magics to command blood itself. Siphoning blood through the skin of it's victims, or turning it's own blood into projectile weapons.
      »»» AUSPEX: The Tremere is capable of enhancing it's senses beyond the boundaries of it's physical form. To sense life through walls, and even sense danger a moment before it strikes.
      »»» DOMINATE: The Tremere is capable of issuing short and simple telepathic commands to minds lesser than their own. To make a human turn their weapon on themselves, or perhaps to simply forget what they saw.

      ███████ CLAN VENTRUE
      »»» TRAITS: Ventrue are the primary Clan of the Camarilla, and they are the most influential of all Clans. They are the presidents, prime ministers, and politicians of human society.
      »»» DISCIPLINES: Dominate, Fortitude, Presence
      »»» DOMINATE: The Ventrue is capable of issuing short and simple telepathic commands to minds lesser than their own. To make a human turn their weapon on themselves, or perhaps to simply forget what they saw.
      »»» FORTITUDE: The Ventrue endows itself with remarkable fortitude, thickening it's skin into a hide that can block even small-caliber bullets, and brush off small blades.
      »»» PRESENCE: The Ventrue conjures a terrifying presence, intimidating all humans around it into a state of near-subservience, and terrifying it's weaker enemies.

      ███████ VAMPIRE UNIVERSAL // READ ME
      »»» All Kindred adhere to the same two biological rules. The first is that all Kindred must feed twice a week. To go any longer than this is to risk incurring the wrath of "The Beast."

      »»» The Beast exists in all Kindred. It is the primordial hunger waiting to take control of your body, and turn you into a mindless killing machine that seeks to sate it's accursed thirst. If you allow the Beast to break control, you will inevitably violate the Masquerade, and you will be hunted down by the Sheriff.

      »»» The second is the rule of weaknesses. All Kindred share the same weaknesses, and it's important that you know them. Don't believe the movies. Garlic? Kindred eat it all the time. A cross? Kindred will tell you to shove it up yours! Running water? Don't be disgusting, Kindred bathe too!

      »»» Now, a shotgun blast to the head? Ooh boy. That's trouble.

      »»» Fire? Kindred aren't flammable persay, but they are particularly easy to burn.

      »»» A stake? That's a bit particular. A stake by itself won't harm a Kindred. But if you manage to put that stake into the Kindred's HEART, then that Kindred will be completely paralyzed. Unable to move until the stake is removed, or until they starve to death.

      »»» Sunlight? If you catch a sunrise, it's over. Sunlight will kill you; and there's no two ways about that.
