Kauff has a pair of smooth, diamond-shaped crystals under each eye and a smattering of tiny stones across his upper back and shoulders.

He might be big, loud, and bad at math, but Kauff is quite clever when he needs to be. He can spin intriguing tales, come up with new fighting techniques, and solve a surprising number of problems with little effort, and most of the time he does a pretty good job.

There are plenty of times in his life when Kauff is an accepting, easygoing adult, but his fits of emotion are frequent and heated, especially when those he cares about are involved. His on switch is ready to be flicked for just about every sentiment out there, and it flicks off again just as quickly.

the pastThe youngest of five children, Kauff grew up alternately coddled and neglected by his relatives. His parents, grandparents, and sisters didn't dislike him or have any desire to punish him, but the sheer number of people in their tents and the chaos that has always followed his family all but guaranteed there was no in-between. Blameless coddling or outright neglect. It didn't take long for Kauff to come to the conclusion that he could get away with anything, and though he learned that was definitely not the case as he grew older, he retained a tendency toward recklessness and hedonistic wish fulfillment that he just couldn't shake.
When he turned sixteen, Kauff announced that he planned to travel, and besides a few joking requests that he try not to get himself killed, his family supported his decision. In the decade that followed, Kauff battled alcoholism, wrestled with depression stemming from isolation, and fought in the Oban war. Now, he works as a guard for Huelin of Coeld, an eccentric Ice treasure hunter.

Growth Blurb: While he was very unsure of himself and unhappy with his life choices during most of Stage 3, Kauff has now settled down and built a family. He is rarely without a grin on his face, though when he is protecting his family or on a job, he can still be quite fierce.
Physical Description:
Hair: his hair is the same length and has the same level of straightness that chris hemsworth's used to; i'd like it pulled back about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way, like he put it in a low ponytail and some bits fell out of the tie; something like this except with more hair out; or this
Beard: he always has a little beard stubble, but you don't have to draw it if you're not feeling it <3
Expression: not angry? he's only scary at work, so he could be smirky, neutral, happy, whatever
I don't have a color preference on any of these clothes have fun:
Shirt: belted sleeveless tunic that reaches mid-thigh with slit sides; it would be nice if there was some sort of detailing around the collar or hem, perhaps?
Pants: simple slim fit ankle-length pants
Shoes: something like this (you can close the toes if you don't want grippers out)
Weapon: this is a good start. i like the stoniness and basic shape of it, but all those handle spikes are kind of silly for his realistic use. (also, you don't even have to draw it if you don't want to because he also punch <3)
Body Type: he's buff mclargehuge but i'm not good at finding reference help
