In the months since the Star Festival, Mourite had spent more and more time on the astronomy department's roof, palm the whispering stone and staring at the stars above. He'd left a few message for Dinara here and there, but he'd not been promoted yet so he couldn't bring her into the fold. In all honesty... he wasn't sure he even wanted to now. But he'd said he he would, and she wanted it so who was he to deny his little star? Besides he'd held that little gem that was her soul in his hands and it just was so bright... How lovely she'd look in black.
Yet he couldn't do that until he was stronger, and that day seemed a long way off. If it ever happened. He was starting to lose hope now.
To the point he'd sort of... played hooky with the whole operation at the start of the month. It wasn't his fault, not really, but he just... wasn't feeling it. Plus if Dinara had been there too... he wouldn't have been able to stop himself from fighting anyone who touched her. And that would have been less than good to do with all the higher ups around. Gods, he hoped she wasn't there.
There was a flare of something powerfully Order on his radar and Mourite jolted from his seat, pocketing the small stone into his tunics and looking around. He held up both hands, no weapon summoned - not that it would do much anyway - and called out into the evening air.
"I don't want any trouble!" Hopefully that meant they'd either move on, or not attack.
He could not handle having to fight a damned Eternal or Knight today...

Yuri had not wanted to power up since he had called to Cosmos and she did not answer. The young man used that as his excuse for not transforming, not digging into that font of power a second time. But, in truth, since returning to Destiny City he hadn’t wanted to become Erytheia. He hadn’t wanted it at all. Perhaps he never had. Those days in Japan with Tama. It had been like a dream that he was reluctant to wake up from. That time there was no need for cosmic powers. But Destiny City practically called out to them, those touched by the stars. Yuri felt it from atop the astronomy tower. The dark part of that power. The mirror to his own power of the stars. Those touched by the stars, drawn to each other. Jumping to the top of the tower was nothing for his knight form and Yuri found himself taking it out of convenience more than for defense this time. He hardly cared to summon his weapon. Reckless, Tama would have called it. ‘Don’t you know what dark stars these streets conceal?’“I don’t want any trouble, just a better view of the stars.” Erytheia replied as he perched next to the lieutenant balancing on the edge of the tower. ✪

Mourite twitched as the knight - of course it was a stars damned knight that showed up - landed on the tower next to him. The young man was casual, almost relaxed in how he just sort of... perched there to look at the stars. Made Mourite look like he had two left feet honestly. The light that rolled off of him made the Chaos in Mourite shudder slightly, wanting him to push the knight from the roof and run, or call for back up immediately.
The knight wasn't attacking though, didn't even summon his weapon.
Besides, Mourite felt somehow... like there was a common thread between them. Maybe.
This young man was a Cosmos knight, like Dinara. Mourite had no bloody idea how he moved with his stilts and the weird arm wrap thing, but he'd some some generals move around in even more weird things. Clearly the knight had lasted this long...
"And you chose next to your enemy to do so? All of you Cosmos knights are so damn weird. No self preservation between the lot of you..." he said, shaking his head and flopping back onto the roof to look up at the sky, and do his best to ignore Erytheia's presence.

Erytheia let out a laugh at the man’s words. It was a cheerful kind of laugh, friendly even. It was if, after hearing his ‘enemy’s’ words, the knight became more relaxed. “Perhaps you are quite right.” The knight of Cosmos replied. “We’re not quite known for self-preservation.”Perhaps it was the man’s kindness that made him not show even a bit of enmity towards Mourite. Or maybe it was the vast power difference. Certainly a knight could take the lieutenant out, had he wanted to. ✪

Mourite regarded him with unreadable maroon eyes, listening to him laugh. He wondered how the knight was just so... calm, so gentle about things. What it even was like to be a Cosmos knight. He could dig for information while the knight wasn't trying to kill him, right? Like, the Negaverse needed all the information they could get about the White Moon. It wasn't for his own curiousity, for the longing that pooled in his chest at the rainbow colors and stars.
Not at all nope.
"... So, what's it like being a Cosmos knight?" he asked, eyes trained back on the sky and hands behind his head. It was easier to talk if he didn't have to stare down the gentle looking man next to him, if he didn't have to think about how easy it would be for the Knight to simply end him, stilts be damned. "... What's it like out there, among the stars?"

What’s it like? Stressful. Unending. And a constant source of worry.Erytheia thought for a moment, no good answers at the ready this time. Instead, he stood silent for a few seconds. Until he looked up at the stars. Hard questions tonight, he thought. Then he looked up at the stars again, remembering the first time he had done so after knowing what they were. “It is… a lot… being a Cosmos knight.” He replied with a sense of resigned honesty. “The stars, though, they’re wonderful! Have you ever been?”✪

Mourite frowned, rolling his eyes. Figures they'd be damn cryptic, them and their rainbows and weird insistence on unpractical clothing attire. He supposed that they couldn't really help that and that being a 'magically enhanced' individual like in anime and video games came with a certain level of impracticality.
I guess??? That still doesn't make it a good idea!!
He huffed and considered the question he'd been asked. Mourite snorted at the knight.
"Pretty sure I can't just go to the stars or moon, you know. Negaverse doesn't do that sort of thing," replied the agent, fake annoyance in his voice. He wasn't annoyed. At least, at the question it self. He was annoyed with the spike of wanderlust and curiosity that flared in his chest. There was absolutely no reason to go to space - ignoring the fact that you couldn't breathe in space, what the hell were these people on , what could he possibly have to fine out there? At best, he'd sate his wanderlust for a time. At worst, he'd die.
(So what if some alien dude had come down from space with his whips and wares, and been perfectly fine, or that more aliens had come to Earth since then!? That didn't count!)
There was absolutely no reason he should want to beg this young man to take him to the stars, to show him the great expanse above the clouds, and see what this whole knight business really was about. No reason! So why the hell did he want to so badly!?
Mourite turned his eyes back to the sky, glaring at the specks of light that called to him.
Freaking Cosmos knights...
