Adopted by Sol and Koril with her half-sister, Nimia. She was just a baby at the time and has no conscious recollection of life before she was adopted. She and Nimia share the same birth mother.

Prentice – Class Affinity Solo Rider
Fiadah had returned home triumphantly with Nimia at her side and the sermal cub securely swaddled in the burlap sacks like an infant would be. It had fought and snarled, but had soon enough calmed down in its weakened state. Once it realized it wasn’t being hurt, it actually fell asleep in the secure hold. She had taken the cub straight to her parents for a check up, truly delighted to be able to help the poor thing as Koril guided her along in his process. As had been obvious, the cub was found to be malnourished and ill, clearly lacking the care of an adult one its age would normally have. She assured everyone that she would be the primary caregiver, but of course she still needed help with a few things. She set up the most secure room in the stables for it while she waited for her baba to finish healing what he could. She called it Nightclaw… Nothing wrong with naming it, right? She took it on walks to build the feline’s strength, brushed its fur to encourage grooming, played with the meals to encourage hunting skills…
As Nightclaw’s health began to flourish, so also did the bond between Matorian and beast. The time came all too quickly for Fiadah to release Nightclaw. Though she was reluctant to send Nightclaw off, Koril had impressed upon her the importance of returning wild animals to their habitats. Sermals were not known as obedient familiars, after all. They were wild cats with wild, predatory hearts. She knew Nightclaw deserved to be free.
So, they traveled far from the house to reduce the chance Nightclaw would just return to the stable. All the way across the border into Sauti; the sermal’s natural habitat. Koril waited behind while Fiadah walked deeper into the seemingly endless forest of rocks with Nightclaw padding along at her side. She watched the little beast as they walked. The scrawny cub she had found a few months ago was growing strong and healthy, the muscles filled out and the fur sleek. She was a gorgeous looking beast with some growing yet to do. Growing that she would have to do.. on her own now.
Fiadah had to fight off the tears as she untied the harness from the sermal and patted the cub’s rump. Curious and energized, Nightclaw eagerly bound off to explore the rocky terrain. Despite how it hurt, Fiadah found a new warmth filling her heart as well. It was a special feeling to see Nightclaw hurry off to freedom, strong and confident and ready to learn how to live on her own. It felt amazing to know that she had been a vital part of the sermal’s survival. Now she could see how Koril did it on the regular.
She turned to head back to her papa. Nightclaw was gone, but Fiadah was walking away with a fresh passion in her heart. (( word count: 489 ))
