Every year like clockwork the Adelaide County Fair comes to town, setting up and ready for business the weekend before all of Mayet's youth returns to school. During the week days hours of operation for entertainment are short, giving everyone the opportunity to rest up for the evening's entertainment and get back home before it's too late to ensure that no one is tempted to miss out on the first week of school!
The fair also features a Farmer's Market and Art Show beneath the big tent that runs daily Monday through Friday from 10am - 2pm, featuring local vendors, farmers and artisans. Fresh produce is available for purchase along with other delightful things like artisan bread, ciders and even booths sponsored by the winery and mead hall.

*Firework display begins at 9pm. Midway and food trucks will continue running until 10pm. Rides begin shut down at 8:30pm to make it through lines to ensure everything is stationary by 9pm.

Rides Include:
- Ferris Wheel - Nothing like the Eye in Mayet, but still fun! The round 'pods' with roofs resembling multi-colored umbrellas seat anywhere from 2-4, well balanced and carefully cared for. The whole ride around takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes depending on the time of day, including at least one full continuous rotation for everyone before the ride comes back down for a new set of passengers.
Scrambler - Ever wonder what it's like to be inside a hand-operated mixer? Me neither! But the Scrambler kind of looks something like that. Four 'cars' are attached to three 'arms' spaced in a way that they can be rotated together without crashing. Neat, right? Make sure the little guy sits towards the inside, though. Once this ride really starts going it's likely to really mix things around!
Tilt-a-Whirl - They heard you liked spinning so they put some spin on your spin. The Tilt-a-Whirl places riders in almost egg-shaped cups that whip around and spin as the ride itself dips and rolls around a circular track. It's fun and fast and did we mention it spins?
Gravitron - Guess what also spins? This ride relies on gravity to keep you from falling off the face of the earth in place as it lifts off, tipping to give you a heart attack the thrill of a lifetime. Watch as friends scream, colors blur and lights dance -- oh, don't worry too much. There's a safety strap too, just in case.
Bumper Cars - No more than 2 per car, pick your best driver and GO! For a good five minutes you and others get to drive around, bumping into one another in electric cars. Seatbelts keep you in place and laughter can be heard all around. HAVE FUN AND DRIVE SAFE. Who are we kidding? It's bumper cars. No one drives safe...
Food Trucks:
- Fair Fare - Corn Dogs, Cheese Fries, Funnel Cake and Cotton Candy! Everything you can expect out of a typical fair can be found here!
Ice, Ice Maybe? - Shaved ice! Step in line, get your cup and head around the side to choose your flavors! Mix and match, it's up to you! Additional options available for the 21+ crowd and yes, they card.
Have You Fried This? - If you've pondered what it might be like fried, chances are they've got it on the menu. Fried Twinkies, fried Oreos, fried candybars, fried pickles, zucchini -- if you've got a hankering to try it, chances are they've fried it!
Guac & Roll - Specializing in the 'best burritos' and serving semi-famous lime juiced tortilla chips, this truck has it all. It doesn't need to be Tuesday to choose Guac & Roll's tacos, or anything else on their menu for that matter!
