Lake Theros is a famous lake just outside of Vale. Theros is a popular tourist town that is famous for it's grand fire festival activities. The town is located a top a forested plateau that makes it one of the more safe rural towns. It is also only a few miles from the outer edge of Vale. During the fire festival the road is well traveled and protected by huntsman. Make sure you are on the lookout still, as the forested valley between Vale and Theros is the most dangerous part of the journey. Most travel in Huntsman protected convoys that leave every hour, but many brave the journey unprotected yet.
The Fire Fest
For the last 4 years, Vale has held an annual Elements Festival during the summer! Each summer celebrating a different element. This year's theme is fire! This week-long festival was introduced to boost morale and help keep the creatures of Grimm at bay. The city is decked out in red streamers and fire-themed decorations like phoenixes, lanterns and flames. Shops offer a variety of fire-themed goods and sales, and games, where the money raised goes to helping the refugees from the fallen kingdoms. Many citizens go down to the beach. There, a sandcastle contest is held, beach volley and a hot coal walk. The local ice cream shop serves its special World's Spiciest Ice Cream, Fire Grilled Peaches and Cream and Phoenix Crumble. Near the beach, a carnival is set up with several fire-themed games. Citizens flock to the arena where over the week, a talent show is held. Any and all come to show off their skills. Someone who excels in shooting may have a bunch of moving targets set up to show off their accuracy, while someone who enjoys dancing may provide a fiery performance. Things are a little bit different this year as a mysterious stranger has shown up, challenging all fighters to a Tournament of Flames!
As this is a week-long festival, you may have your character participate in more than one event if you desire.

Narx stood at the gate to the wall of Vale switching feet anxiously. he had secretly been planning an elaborate date for Danaë for over a month and he really didn't want to screw it up. "Just act normal. Just act normal." He muttered under his breath. He held a large picnic basket in one hand and in his other he held a dust powered scooter he had rented. It was large enough for two to stand on. He thought it would be a fun, although a bit odd, way to get to Theros. A town that he had seen in a magazine for it's famous fire festivities. He thought the evening out around the lake would be a nice change of scenery for them both. He would have his hammer in the front basket of the scooter so he would have to carry the picnic basket on his arm the entire way there. He normally wouldn't bring it, but they did have to pass through the wilderness and it only made sense to bring it.

Danaë would leave a little after Narx. She was told that they were going on a picnic. She couldn't wait for the date. She didn't know if she could trust Narx to bring everything, so on her shoulder, she had a beach bag that had Sunblock, bug spray, some napkins, some plastic silverware that she took from the cafeteria, and an umbrella. She also had a shawl in the bag, in case the weather got cold. She had about half of the normal amount of daggers on her person than normal. There just wasn't a lot of places to hide them in this dress.
She would arrive at the gate, and see Narx seemingly trying to keep himself together. She would give a light chuckle. "Ho-oh, Did you get this just for today?" She would walk over to him, her blue dress flowing a little in a little gust of wind. The sun hat that she placed on her head completed the outfit. "Shall we get going?" She would wait for him to get on, so she could hold his hips as they traveled on the scooter.

He wouldn't notice her approach until she spoke, and he would jump a little and turn around swiftly with a big grin on his face. His posture straightened and he had one hand behind his back. "You made it! Just on time! And you- You look beautiful!" he said as he took a step forward and pulled her into a big hug. After which he grabbed her left hand into his and kissed it. She always had cute outfits for every occasion. Today he was wearing a white button up shirt and gloves. He looked dashing, albeit like a business man who suddenly had to do some yard work without time to change. He did have a belt with his usual tools and extra gear on it though. "I have planned a picnic at Lake Theros for us! So we could spend the evening up there, I heard it has amazing views, and thought we could both use the time to get away. I hope you're happy with that!" He then took a few steps over to show that dust scooter he had rented for them to travel on since it was a several miles out from the walls of Vale. There were armed escorts taking people every hour to the town, but that cost money and he was thinking they could just tag behind one of the convoys.

Red would cross Danaë's face. He called her hiking outfit beautiful. She guessed he wasn't looking at her hiking boots. He would pull her into a hug, and she would hug him back. She always enjoyed their time together, and today was going to be no different. He would then kiss her hand. That was going a little too far, but she didn't mind it. "I'm more than happy to spend any time with you." She would then put a feathered hand on his cheek. "Shall we get going Ho-oh!" It was clear that she was excited and ready to go.

Narx would smile when she blushed. He loved that so much. "I agree! Let's get going!" he would start up the scooter and hop onto it and wave a hand to motion for her to hop on behind him. She would have to wrap her arms around him to stay stable. "The last escort just took off, let's follow!" he would speed along. The wind would blow their hair, and the road would be a tad bumpy with disrepair, but it wasn't too bad all things considered. They would catch up to the escort pretty quickly and he would trail behind them just out of sight. "Have you heard of Lake Theros before? I heard that the lake had healing properties! What did you like to bathe in for your feathers? Oh yeah, dust. Do you think it would be comparable?" He clearly was uneducated in the avian baths, but he was oddly adorable in his ignorance.

Danaë would hop on and hold onto Narx as they went on their way. He mentioned a convoy. Was Narx stealing the services of a convoy? "We are Hunter's in Training, why do we need to follow a Convoy?" Then again, she didn't think that it was odd that they would need protection. He had his hammer, and she had Daggers on her. She would hold on to him as tight as she could over the bumps, her bumps brushing against his back. He would ask if she had heard of the area. " I haven't heard much about it to be honest." He would then mention her feathers. She would squinch her face. "My feathers are doing fine Narx. I just...I molted, and now they are good until next year. It's like when your hair gets all over the pillow, or when my hair gets stuck in the bathtub drain." He would then remember she took dust baths sometimes. "I can dip my legs in, but getting my feathers wet means that I can get sick if we can't get me dry very soon after." She would see the scenery pass them. It was beautiful so far.

Narx chuckled awkwardly at her point. They could likely handle any grimm that came their way, they were seniors close to graduating already after all. Though that felt weird, but Beacon's accelerated program put everyone on the fast track, and they had gone through a lot of crap."Honestly, I didn't want to fight unless I have too!" he said, but it was only partially true. She would see right through his half truth probably so he sighed and admitted the real reason promptly. "I have never been there before, and even though they say it's a straight road, I didn't want to risk getting lost..." he wasn't the best at following directions, and he didn't want to focus on it while on this adventure date. "Well, we won't get in the water then, I sort of just wante to admire the lake from atop a hill if I am being honest anyways!" He would make sure to remember that water could get her sick. From now on he would bring an umbrella with him always.
They followed the convoy for some time, the golden sunlight drifted through the trees pleasantly and while it was hot at first, the closer they got the cooler the temperature seemed to be. The convoy would eventually stop for a lunch break, but Narx decided to zoom past them. They were probably more than half way there if the maps were right. The path turned into a steady incline which was a good sign as the town rested on a plateau that was protected from non-aerial grimm. They would come to a fork in the road, one way led into a dark tunnel on the left, and the path on the right started to weave its way up the mountain. He stopped and put a foot down to stabilize the scooter. "Uhhhh. I don't remember this..."

Danaë was enjoying the coolness of the area as they zoomed through. It was fine that Narx didn't want to get lost. She knew that he had a hard time with directions, and had she known where she was going before this, she would have gotten directions. Once they stopped, she would pull out her scroll. It didn't have reception. "I could always fly up and look for a way? Ho-oh..." This time her hoot sounded more worried.
Danaë would look down the dark cave, her eyes having a hard time adjusting to between the light and the dark. "I can always drive us through the cave if you want to. I wouldn't mind you holding onto me. Just make sure to grab my hooters too hard"She would chuckle at her owl pun there. If Narx said yes to either, she would do it.

It was nice that Danaë could fly. "Good idea, I would check it out and let me know what you see." he said, then hopped off the scooter to wait. If Danaë did fly up she would see the road weaved back and forth but was very shrouded in trees. It was hard to tell exactly where it went, but it did seem to lead in the general right direction to get to the top of the plateau. "I'll let you decide which way to go. I suspect the tunnel takes us to some market or industrial area underneath the town at worst. I can't imagine it goes anywhere else, but maybe it just passes through." he wasn't sure what to do, the upper path felt more safe though. "I think staying in the open feels more comfortable though." Danaë could always fly away if trouble found them if they were above ground, not that she would abandon him ever. But the thought did make him feel better. "What do you say?"

Danaë would activate her semblance, her arm feathers elongating with aura. She would let go of Narx and then take off. The area was covered in trees. She would go out above the cave, and the other fork. They looked like they went to the same place. She would circle herself down, and land next to the scooter. "The forest is very thick, it's hard to see anything. They look like they both lead to the same area." She would smile, and then deactivate her Semblance.
Danaë would nod her head. "To be fair, nothing good has happened to either of us in a cave." She would shake with her feathers fluffing up. The explosion in the Gym, the first cave where they watched their teammate's sister die. The last mission where they got separated, and she lost her eye. How he came out incredibly injured. She would push those thoughts out of her head. She would wrap her arms around him, and tuck her head into the nook of his shoulder. In a lower voice, she would say, "Let's go down the open path." She would leave her head tucked there, her feathered eyebrows tickling his skin.

He would ponder what she said. It was all very true. Especially the part about caves not being in their favor. "I agree, let's go!" he said, then shot her a bright smile confidence in Danaë's opinion being the best. He would hop back on the scooter with her and continue upwards. After a few minutes they would come to a small clearing that was shaded by large trees on all sides. There was a large gate up ahead and beyond it what looked like a shrine of some sort. Not something Narx was used to seeing in Vale. "A shrine? I didn't see this on the map either." They were most definitely lost now he felt. "Let's ask for directions maybe? We can't be far off from the right path." He felt bad to lead Danaë on the wrong path, it was just preventing them from having the date he had planned. "This place is pretty though..." he said lifting a hand up as if he could touch the golden rays of sunlight that shot through the trees. The air was full of cotton seeds and the area really just had a magical feel about it.
Up ahead the gate was unlocked, and the place was very peaceful. Birds chirped and the atmosphere was otherwise serenely quiet.
It had been months since she had lost her wings and though it was still a wound, she kept an optimistic look on life still. This was the day she'd been waiting for since the traumatizing mission; Fire Festival~! So excited was she, that she had awoken early enough to go out and greet the sun before getting ready for the day. Just a simple white and purple outfit. She was getting more used to not have to work her outfits around extra appendages more each day."Today will be a beautiful day,"She."Zach, hurry up, we're gonna be late~!"Diana called before heading out into the hall and towards the escorted area that would them to Lake Theros.
"We're actually leaving the city for a night,"She was in awe at the wonder of it.Diana looked out the window with excitement from the vehicle they were taken in. Their city view would begin to turn to that of the forest on either side of them after a while. Sitting beside her friend, she would turn amethyst eyes towards him."This should be good for all of us,"She thought with hope that their other teammates would join them later."Everything alright, Zach?"Diana inquired since he seemed to be in thought.

Danaë would hold onto Narx as they moved on. Narx would stop at the end of the clear and sunny path. It seemed to be a temple. She thought it looked neat. "Can we also look around? I've only seen shrines like this in movies. I'd love to leave an offering." She would ask Narx. She would step off the scooter, and look for flowers around the front. Once she got a few, she would also find some bird feathers that were on the ground. She would start weaving it all into a crown to leave as an offering for the god that was worshiped there. She would not pick any flowers that looked well attended to.
"Okay, okay! I'm right behind ya Di!" His voice came through the bathroom door just as he finished changing. With black shorts, a black overshirt and a white T-shirt whose front design reacts to sunlight, Zachariah followed behind his butterfly friend but not before noticing a note left behind by their other member Miserorum.
Dirt kicked up as the wheels of the large vehicle that they rode spun fast and took Zachariah, Di, and a few civilians to the long awaited Fire Festival. With how much has happened lately it was a good escape from stress for all involved, or at the least that's what Zach thought when he asked his teammates to hang out at this event. Still, even though Zachariah had high hopes he also had a troubled mind. His steely blue eyes reflect the woodlands he gazed to while his thoughts raced only to be returned to attention by kind amethyst eyes.
"W-what? Oh, yeah. Everythingis fine." While things were indeed fine right now it was obvious that Zachariah wasn't fully focused at the moment. And knowing how perceptive Diana is the young swordsman knew he couldn't fully fool her. "I was just kind of thinking of the past." Zachariah redirected conversation with a half truth; Worry as well for M and whatever he might be doing or getting himself into. "I was actually thinking about the first time we had met. Do you remember that moment?" Zach then gave the butterfly a truthful light hearted smile with the sun giving his eyes a soft glow of the warmth they'd be sharing this summer day. "It was on a day much like today, and you bright eyes just as you do now."
